1 For the liturgy, David and the religious officials selected the sons of Asaph, of Heman and ofJeduthun, who were to prophesy to the accompaniment of harps, lyres and cymbals. The list of ministrants forthis service was as follows:	1 Igitur David et magistratus exercitus segregaverunt in ministerium filios Asaph et Heman et Idithun, qui prophetarent in citharis et psalteriis et cymbalis, secundum numerum suum dedicato sibi officio servientes.
2 Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, Asharelah; the sons of Asaph were under thedirection of Asaph who prophesied at the king's direction.	2 De filiis Asaph: Zacchur et Ioseph et Nathania et Asarela filii Asaph erant sub manu Asaph prophetantis sub manu regis.
3 Of Jeduthun there were the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Hashabiah and Mattithiah,six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun who, with the harp, prophesied when thanks and praise were tobe given to Yahweh.	3 De Idithun; filii Idithun: Godolias, Sori, Iesaias et Hasabias et Matthathias, sex, sub manu patris sui Idithun, qui in cithara prophetabat ad confitendum et laudandum Dominum.
4 Of Heman there were the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah,Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.	4 De Heman quoque; filii Heman: Bocciau, Matthaniau, Oziel, Subael et Ierimoth, Hananias, Hanani, Eliatha, Geddelthi et Romemthiezer et Iesbacasa, Mellothi, Othir, Mahazioth;
5 Al these were sons of Heman, the king's seer; at God's word they blew the horn. God gave Hemanfourteen sons and three daughters.	5 omnes isti filii Heman videntis regis iuxta sermones Dei, quod exaltaret cornu eius; deditque Deus Heman filios quattuordecim et filias tres.
6 Under the king's direction al these had the duty of singing to the accompaniment of cymbal, lyre andharp for the liturgy of the house of God under the direction of their fathers. Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman,	6 Universi sub manu patris sui ad cantandum in templo Domini distributi erant in cymbalis et psalteriis et citharis, in ministeria domus Dei sub manu regis: Asaph et Idithun et Heman.
7 trained in the songs of Yahweh, with their brothers, numbered two hundred and eighty-eight, alexpert.	7 Fuit autem numerus eorum cum fratribus suis eruditis in cantando Domino, cuncti magistri, ducenti octoginta octo.

9 The first to whom the lot fel was the Asaphite, Joseph. The second was Gedaliah, who with his sonsand brothers made twelve.	9 Egressaque est sors prima Ioseph, qui erat de Asaph. Secunda Godoliae, ipsi et fratribus eius et filiis eius, duodecim.
10 The third was Zaccur, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	10 Tertia Zacchur, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
11 The fourth was Izri, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	11 Quarta Isari, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
12 The fifth was Nethaniah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	12 Quinta Nathaniau, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
13 The sixth was Bukkiah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	13 Sexta Bocciau, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
14 The seventh was Jesharelah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	14 Septima Isreela, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.

16 The ninth was Mattaniah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	16 Nona Matthaniau, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
17 The tenth was Shimei, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	17 Decima Semei, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
18 The eleventh was Azarel, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	18 Undecima Azareel, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
19 The twelfth was Hashabiah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	19 Duodecima Hasabiae, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
20 The thirteenth was Shubael, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	20 Tertia decima Subael, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
21 The fourteenth was Mattithiah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	21 Quarta decima Matthathiae, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
22 The fifteenth was Jeremoth, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	22 Quinta decima Ierimoth, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
23 The sixteenth was Hananiah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	23 Sexta decima Hananiae, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
24 The seventeenth was Joshbekashah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	24 Septima decima Iesbacasae, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.

27 The twentieth was Eliathah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	27 Vicesima Eliatha, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
28 The twenty-first was Hothir, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	28 Vicesima prima Othir, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
29 The twenty-second was Giddalti, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	29 Vicesima secunda Geddelthi, filiis et fratribus eius, duodecim.
