1 For the liturgy, David and the religious officials selected the sons of Asaph, of Heman and ofJeduthun, who were to prophesy to the accompaniment of harps, lyres and cymbals. The list of ministrants forthis service was as follows:	1 Davidde adunque, e i capi della moltitudine trascelsero per ministri i figliuoli di Asaph, e di Heman, e d'Idithun: perchè cantassero le lodi di Dio al suono delle cetre, de' salterj, e de' cimbali, servendo in numero conveniente all'ufficio, per cui erano destinati.
2 Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, Asharelah; the sons of Asaph were under thedirection of Asaph who prophesied at the king's direction.	2 De' figliuoli di Asaph: Zachur, e Giuseppe, e Nathania, e Asarela figliuoli di Asaph: sotto la direzione di Asaph, il quale cantava presso del re.
3 Of Jeduthun there were the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Hashabiah and Mattithiah,six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun who, with the harp, prophesied when thanks and praise were tobe given to Yahweh.	3 I figliuoli poi di Idithun, sei: Idithun, Godolia, Sori, Jeseia, e Hasabia, e Mathathia sotto la direzione del padre loro Idithun, il quale al suon della cetra cantava innanzi a quelli, che celebravano, e laudavano il Signore.
4 Of Heman there were the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah,Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.	4 V'era anche Heman: i figliuoli di Heman furono, Bocciau, Mathaniau, Oziel, Subuel, e Jerimoth, Hanania, Hanani, Eliatha, Geddelthi, e Rom- memthiezer, e Jesbacassa, Mellothi, Othir, Mahazioth.
5 Al these were sons of Heman, the king's seer; at God's word they blew the horn. God gave Hemanfourteen sons and three daughters.	5 Tutti questi figliuoli di Heman (Veggente di David per far parole delle cose di Dio) lo rendevano glorioso: Dio diede ad Heman quattordici figliuoli, e tre figlie.
6 Under the king's direction al these had the duty of singing to the accompaniment of cymbal, lyre andharp for the liturgy of the house of God under the direction of their fathers. Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman,	6 Tutti quanti eran distribuiti sotto la direzione de' padri loro, cioè di Asaph, e d'Idithun, e di Heman percantare nel tempio del Signore sui cimbali, e sui salterj, e sulle cetre, peradempire gli uffizj della casa del Signore presso del re.
7 trained in the songs of Yahweh, with their brothers, numbered two hundred and eighty-eight, alexpert.	7 E il numero di questi insieme co'loro fratelli, che erano tutti dotti, e insegnavano a cantare le canzoni del Signore, fu di dugento ottantotto.
8 Junior and senior, master and pupil alike, they drew lots for their term of duty.	8 E tutti egualmente titarono asorte classe per classe, tanto maggiori, che minori, maestri, e discepoli.
9 The first to whom the lot fel was the Asaphite, Joseph. The second was Gedaliah, who with his sonsand brothers made twelve.	9 E il primo a uscire a sorte fu Giuseppe, che era figliuolo di Asaph. Il secondo uscì Godolia, egli, e i suoi figliuoli, e fratelli in numero di dodici.
10 The third was Zaccur, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	10 Il terzo Zachur co' suoi figliuoli, e fratelli dodici.
11 The fourth was Izri, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.	11 Il quarto Isari co' suoi figliuoli, e fratelli dodici.
