1 Chronicles 14

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, with cedar wood, stone-cutters and carpenters, to build hima palace.	1 Hirão, rei de Tiro, enviou mensageiros a Davi, com madeiras de Cedro, pedreiros e carpinteiros, para construir-lhe um palácio.
2 David then knew that Yahweh had confirmed him as king of Israel and, for the sake of his people, hadextended his sovereignty.	2 E Davi reconheceu que o Senhor o confirmava rei de Israel, pois que seu reino era exaltado por causa de Israel, seu povo.
3 David took more wives in Jerusalem and fathered more sons and daughters.	3 Davi tomou ainda mulheres de Jerusalém e gerou filhos e filhas.
4 These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,	4 Eis os nomes dos filhos que teve em Jerusalém: Samua, Sobad, Natã, Salomão,
5 Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,	5 Jebaar, Elisua, Elifelet,
6 Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,	6 Noga, Nafeg, Jafia,
7 Elishama, Beeliada, Eliphelet.	7 Elisama, Baaliada e Elifalet.
8 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed as king of al Israel, they al invaded to seekhim out. On hearing this, David marched out towards them.	8 Quando os filisteus souberam que Davi tinha sido sagrado rei de todo o Israel, subiram todos para prendê-lo. Mas ele o soube e saiu-lhes ao encontro.
9 When the Philistines arrived, they deployed in the Val ey of the Rephaim.	9 Contudo, os filisteus que vinham espalharam-se pelo vale de Refaim.
10 David consulted God and asked, 'Shall I attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my power?'Yahweh replied to him, 'Attack! I shal deliver them into your power.'	10 Davi consultou a Deus: Subirei contra os filisteus? Entregá-los-eis em minhas mãos? E o Senhor disse-lhe: Sobe e entregá-los-ei em tuas mãos.
11 Accordingly, they went up to Baal-Perazim and there David defeated them. David said, 'Through meGod has made a breach in my enemies, as though they had been breached by a flood.' This is why the placewas given the name Baal-Perazim.	11 Subiram, portanto, a Baal-Farasim, e lá Davi os desbaratou. Disse então ele: Deus dispersou meus inimigos, por minha mão, como se dispersam as águas. Por isso esse lugar se denominou: Baal-Farasim.
12 They had left their gods behind there, and David ordered them to be burnt.	12 Ali abandonaram eles seus deuses. E Davi os mandou queimar.
13 Again the Philistines deployed in the valley.	13 Os filisteus espalharam-se novamente pelo vale.
14 David again consulted God, and God replied, 'Do not attack them from the front; go round andengage them opposite the balsam trees.	14 Davi consultou de novo a Deus, e este lhe respondeu: Não te ponhas a persegui-los; desvia-te deles e os atacarás diante das amoreiras.
15 When you hear the sound of footsteps in the tops of the balsam trees, launch your attack, for that willbe God going out ahead of you to defeat the Philistine army.'	15 Quando ouvires um ruído de passos nas copas das amoreiras, então começarás o combate, porque Deus sairá diante de ti para desbaratar o exército dos filisteus.
16 David did as God had ordered, and they beat the Philistine army from Gibeon to Gezer.	16 Fez Davi o que Deus lhe ordenava, e derrotou o exército dos filisteus desde Gabaon até Gazer.
17 David's fame then spread to every country, and Yahweh made him feared by every nation.	17 A fama de Davi espalhou-se por todos os países, e o Senhor tornou-o temível para todas as nações.
