NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, with cedar wood, stone-cutters and carpenters, to build hima palace.	1 Chiram, re di Tiro, inviò dei messaggeri a Davide con legname di cedro, muratori e falegnami per costruirgli una casa.
2 David then knew that Yahweh had confirmed him as king of Israel and, for the sake of his people, hadextended his sovereignty.	2 Allora Davide riconobbe che il Signore l'aveva stabilito re su Israele, perché il suo regno, a causa del suo popolo d'Israele, era grandemente esaltato.
3 David took more wives in Jerusalem and fathered more sons and daughters.	3 Davide si prese altre mogli in Gerusalemme e generò figli e figlie.
4 These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,	4 Questi sono i nomi dei figli che ebbe Davide in Gerusalemme: Sammua, Sobab, Natan, Salomone,

8 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed as king of al Israel, they al invaded to seekhim out. On hearing this, David marched out towards them.	8 Quando i Filistei appresero che Davide era stato unto re su tutto Israele, salirono tutti per ricercarlo. Saputolo, Davide uscì loro incontro.
9 When the Philistines arrived, they deployed in the Val ey of the Rephaim.	9 I Filistei, appena giunti, si sparpagliarono per la vallata di Rèfaim.
10 David consulted God and asked, 'Shall I attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my power?'Yahweh replied to him, 'Attack! 11 Accordingly, they went up to Baal-Perazim and there David defeated them. David said, 'Through meGod has made a breach in my enemies, as though they had been breached by a flood.' This is why the placewas given the name Baal-Perazim.	11 Quelli salirono a Baal-Perazìm e quivi Davide li sconfisse. Questi allora disse: "Dio ha aperto per mio mezzo una breccia tra i miei nemici, come una breccia prodotta dall'acqua". Perciò mise a questo luogo il nome di Baal-Perazìm.
12 They had left their gods behind there, and David ordered them to be burnt.	12 I Filistei abbandonarono ivi i loro idoli e Davide ordinò che venissero bruciati nel fuoco.
13 Again the Philistines deployed in the valley.	13 Ancora una volta i Filistei ricominciarono a sparpagliarsi per la vallata.
14 David again consulted God, and God replied, 'Do not attack them from the front; go round andengage them opposite the balsam trees.	14 Di nuovo Davide consultò Dio che gli rispose: "Non salire dietro di loro, aggirali a distanza per raggiungerli dalla parte di Becaim.
15 When you hear the sound of footsteps in the tops of the balsam trees, launch your attack, for that willbe God going out ahead of you to defeat the Philistine army.'	15 Quando sentirai un rumore di passi fra le cime degli alberi, allora uscirai a combattere, perché Dio uscirà davanti a te per sconfiggere il campo dei Filistei".
16 David did as God had ordered, and they beat the Philistine army from Gibeon to Gezer.	16 Davide fece come Dio gli aveva ordinato e sconfisse l'esercito dei Filistei da Gabaon fino a Ghezer.
17 David's fame then spread to every country, and Yahweh made him feared by every nation.	17 La fama di Davide si diffuse in tutti i paesi, mentre il Signore lo rendeva temibile fra tutte le nazioni.
