NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, with cedar wood, stone-cutters and carpenters, to build hima palace.	1 Hiram, roi de Tyr, envoya une ambassade à David, avec du bois de cèdre, des maçons et descharpentiers, pour lui construire une maison.
2 David then knew that Yahweh had confirmed him as king of Israel and, for the sake of his people, hadextended his sovereignty.	2 Alors David sut que Yahvé l'avait confirmé comme roi d'Israël et que sa royauté étaithautement exaltée à cause d'Israël son peuple.
3 David took more wives in Jerusalem and fathered more sons and daughters.	3 A Jérusalem, David prit encore des femmes et il engendra encore des fils et des filles.
4 These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,	4 Voici les noms des enfants qui lui naquirent à Jérusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Natân,Salomon,
5 Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,	5 Yibhar, Elishua, Elpalèt,
6 Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,	6 Nogah, Népheg, Yaphia,
7 Elishama, Beeliada, Eliphelet.	7 Elishama, Baalyada, Eliphélèt.
8 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed as king of al Israel, they al invaded to seekhim out. On hearing this, David marched out towards them.	8 Lorsque les Philistins eurent appris qu'on avait oint David comme roi de tout Israël, ilsmontèrent tous pour s'emparer de lui. A cette nouvelle, David partit au-devant d'eux.
9 When the Philistines arrived, they deployed in the Val ey of the Rephaim.	9 Les Philistins arrivèrent et se déployèrent dans le val des Rephaïm.
10 David consulted God and asked, 'Shall I attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my power?'Yahweh replied to him, 'Attack! I shal deliver them into your power.'	10 Alors David consulta Dieu: "Dois-je attaquer les Philistins? Demanda-t-il, et les livreras-tuentre mes mains?" Yahvé lui répondit: "Attaque! et je les livrerai entre tes mains."
11 Accordingly, they went up to Baal-Perazim and there David defeated them. David said, 'Through meGod has made a breach in my enemies, as though they had been breached by a flood.' This is why the placewas given the name Baal-Perazim.	11 Ils montèrent à Baal-Peraçim, et là, David les battit. Et David dit: "Par ma main Dieu aouvert une brèche dans mes ennemis comme une brèche faite par les eaux." C'est pourquoi on appela cet endroitBaal-Peraçim.
12 They had left their gods behind there, and David ordered them to be burnt.	12 Ils avaient abandonné sur place leurs dieux: "Qu'ils brûlent au feu!" dit David.
13 Again the Philistines deployed in the valley.	13 Les Philistins recommencèrent à se déployer dans le val.
14 David again consulted God, and God replied, 'Do not attack them from the front; go round andengage them opposite the balsam trees.	14 David consulta de nouveau Dieu et Dieu lui répondit: "Ne les attaque pas. Va derrière eux, àquelque distance, tourne-les, et aborde-les vis-à-vis des micocouliers.
15 When you hear the sound of footsteps in the tops of the balsam trees, launch your attack, for that willbe God going out ahead of you to defeat the Philistine army.'	15 Et quand tu entendras un bruit de pas à la cime des micocouliers, alors tu engageras lecombat: c'est que Dieu sort devant toi pour battre l'armée philistine."
16 David did as God had ordered, and they beat the Philistine army from Gibeon to Gezer.	16 David fit comme Dieu lui avait ordonné: il défit l'armée philistine depuis Gabaôn jusqu'àGézer.
17 David's fame then spread to every country, and Yahweh made him feared by every nation.	17 La renommée de David s'étendit dans toutes les régions et Yahvé le fit redouter de toutes lesnations.
