¹ God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, 'Breed, multiply and fil the earth.	¹ Poi Dio benedisse Noè e i suoi figlioli, e disse loro: "Siate fecondi e moltiplicatevi e riempite la terra.
² Be the terror and the dread of al the animals on land and al the birds of heaven, of everything thatmoves on land and all the fish of the sea; they are placed in your hands.	² Il timore di voi e il terrore di voi sia in tutte le fiere della terra, in tutti i volatili del cielo. Tutto ciò che striscia sul suolo e tutti i pesci del mare sono dati in vostro potere.
³ Every living thing that moves wil be yours to eat, no less than the foliage of the plants. I give youeverything,	³ Ogni essere che si muove e ha vita sarà vostro cibo; tutto questo vi do, come già l'erba verde.
⁴ with this exception: you must not eat flesh with life, that is to say blood, in it.	⁴ Soltanto non mangerete la carne che ha in sé il suo sangue.
⁵ And I shal demand account of your life-blood, too. I shall demand it of every animal, and of man. Ofman as regards his fel ow-man, I shal demand account for human life.	⁵ Certamente del sangue vostro, ossia della vita vostra, io domanderò conto: ne domanderò conto ad ogni animale; della vita dell'uomo io domanderò conto alla mano dell'uomo, alla mano d'ogni suo fratello!
⁶ He who sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God was mancreated.	⁶ Chi sparge il sangue di un uomo, per mezzo di un uomo il suo sangue sarà sparso; perché quale immagine di Dio ha Egli fatto l'uomo.
⁷ Be fruitful then and multiply, teem over the earth and subdue it!'	⁷ Quanto a voi, siate fecondi e moltiplicatevi; brulicate sulla terra e soggiogatela".
⁸ God spoke as fol ows to Noah and his sons,	⁸ Poi Dio disse a Noè e ai suoi figlioli:
⁹ 'I am now establishing my covenant with you and with your descendants to come,	⁹ "Quanto a me, ecco che io stabilisco la mia alleanza con voi e con la vostra progenie dopo di voi,
¹⁰ and with every living creature that was with you: birds, cattle and every wild animal with you;everything that came out of the ark, every living thing on earth.	¹⁰ e con ogni essere vivente che è con voi: con i volatili, con il bestiame e con tutte le fiere della terra che sono con voi, da tutti gli animali che sono usciti dall'arca a tutte le fiere della terra.
¹¹ And I shal maintain my covenant with you: that never again shal all living things be destroyed by thewaters of a flood, nor shal there ever again be a flood to devastate the earth.'	¹¹ Io stabilisco la mia alleanza con voi, che non sarà più distrutta alcuna carne a causa delle acque del diluvio, né più verrà il diluvio a sconvolgere la terra".
¹² 'And this', God said, 'is the sign of the covenant which I now make between myself and you and everyliving creature with you for al ages to come:	¹² Poi Dio disse: "Questo è il segno dell'alleanza che io pongo tra me e voi e ogni essere vivente che è con voi, per tutte le generazioni future:
¹³ I now set my bow in the clouds and it wil be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.	¹³ io pongo il mio arco nelle nubi, ed esso sarà un segno di alleanza fra me e la terra.
¹⁴ When I gather the clouds over the earth and the bow appears in the clouds,	¹⁴ E quando io accumulerò le nubi sopra la terra e apparirà l'arco nelle nubi,
¹⁵ I shal recall the covenant between myself and you and every living creature, in a word al living things,and never again will the waters become a flood to destroy al living things.	¹⁵ allora mi ricorderò della mia alleanza, la quale sussiste tra me e voi ed ogni anima vivente in qualsiasi carne e le acque non diverranno mai più un diluvio per distruggere ogni carne.
¹⁶ When the bow is in the clouds I shall see it and call to mind the eternal covenant between God andevery living creature on earth, that is, al living things.'	¹⁶ L'arco apparirà nelle nubi e io lo guarderò per ricordare l'alleanza eterna tra Dio e ogni anima vivente in ogni carne che vi è sulla terra".
¹⁷ 'That', God told Noah, 'is the sign of the covenant I have established between myself and al livingthings on earth.'	¹⁷ Poi Dio disse a Noè: "Questo è il segno dell'alleanza che io ho stabilito tra me e ogni carne che vi è sulla terra".
¹⁸ The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth-Ham being the father ofCanaan.	¹⁸ I figli di Noè che uscirono dall'arca furono: Sem, Cam e Iafet; e Cam è il padre di Canaan.
¹⁹ These three were Noah's sons, and from these the whole earth was peopled.	¹⁹ Questi tre sono i figlioli di Noè, e da questi fu popolata tutta la terra.
²⁰ Noah, a til er of the soil, was the first to plant the vine.	²⁰ Or Noè incominciò a far l'agricoltore e piantò una vigna.
²¹ He drank some of the wine, and while he was drunk, he lay uncovered in his tent.	²¹ Bevuto del vino, si inebriò e si scoprì in mezzo alla sua tenda.
²² Ham, father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside.	²² Or Cam, padre di Canaan, vide la nudità del padre suo e uscì a dirlo ai suoi due fratelli.
²³ Shem and Japheth took a cloak and they both put it over their shoulders, and walking backwards,covered their father's nakedness; they kept their faces turned away, and they did not look at their father naked.	²³ Allora Sem e Iafet presero il mantello, se lo misero ambedue sulle spalle e, camminando a ritroso, coprirono la nudità del loro padre: e siccome avevano le loro facce rivolte dalla parte opposta, non videro la nudità del loro padre.
²⁴ When Noah awoke from his stupor he learned what his youngest son had done to him,	²⁴ Quando Noè, risvegliatosi dalla sua ebbrezza, seppe quanto gli aveva fatto il suo figliolo minore,
²⁵ and said: Accursed be Canaan, he shal be his brothers' meanest slave.	²⁵ disse: "Sia maledetto Canaan! Sia schiavo infimo dei fratelli suoi".
²⁶ He added: Blessed be Yahweh, God of Shem, let Canaan be his slave!	²⁶ Disse poi: "Benedetto sia il Signore, Dio di Sem! Ma sia Canaan suo schiavo!
²⁷ May God make space for Japheth, may he live in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be his slave!	²⁷ Dio dilati Iafet e dimori nelle tende di Sem! Ma sia Canaan suo schiavo!".
²⁸ After the flood Noah lived three hundred and fifty years.	²⁸ Noè visse, dopo il diluvio, trecentocinquant'anni.
²⁹ In al , Noah's life lasted nine hundred and fifty years; then he died.	²⁹ E l'intera vita di Noè fu di novecentocinquant'anni, poi morì.
