1 God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, 'Breed, multiply and fil the earth.	1 E Dio benedisse Noè, e i suoi figliuoli. E disse loro: Crescete e moltiplicate, e riempite la terra.
2 Be the terror and the dread of al the animals on land and al the birds of heaven, of everything thatmoves on land and all the fish of the sea; they are placed in your hands.	2 E temano, e tremino dinanzi a voi tutti gli animali della terra, e tutti gli uccelli dell'aria, e quanto si muove sopra la terra: tutti i pesci del mare sono soggettati al vostro potere.
3 Every living thing that moves wil be yours to eat, no less than the foliage of the plants. I give youeverything,	3 E tutto quello che ha moto e vita, sarà vostro cibo: tutte queste cose io do a voi, come i verdi legumi;
4 with this exception: you must not eat flesh with life, that is to say blood, in it.	4 Eccetto che voi non mangerete carne col sangue.
5 And I shal demand account of your life-blood, too. I shall demand it of every animal, and of man. Ofman as regards his fel ow-man, I shal demand account for human life.	5 Imperocché io farò vendetta del sangue vostro sopra qualsisia delle bestie: e farò vendetta della uccisione di un uomo sopra l'uomo sopra l'uomo fratello di lui.
6 He who sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God was mancreated.	6 Chiunque spargerà il sangue dell'uomo, il sangue di lui sarà sparso: perocché l'uomo è fatto ad immagin di Dio.
7 Be fruitful then and multiply, teem over the earth and subdue it!'	7 Ma voi crescete, e moltiplicate, e dilatatevi sopra la terra, e riempitela.
8 God spoke as fol ows to Noah and his sons,	8 Disse ancora Dio a Noè, e a' suoi figliuoli con lui:
9 'I am now establishing my covenant with you and with your descendants to come,	9 Ecco che io fermerò il mio patto con voi, e con la discendenza vostra dopo di voi:
10 and with every living creature that was with you: birds, cattle and every wild animal with you;everything that came out of the ark, every living thing on earth.	10 E con tutti gli animali viventi, che sono con voi tanto volatili, come giumenti, e bestie della terra, con tutti quegli che sono usciti dall'arca, e con tutte le bestie della terra.
11 And I shal maintain my covenant with you: that never again shal all living things be destroyed by thewaters of a flood, nor shal there ever again be a flood to devastate the earth.'	11 Fermerò il mio patto con voi, e non saranno mai più uccisi colle acque del diluvio tutti gli animali, né diluvio verrà in appresso a disertare la terra.
12 'And this', God said, 'is the sign of the covenant which I now make between myself and you and everyliving creature with you for al ages to come:	12 E disse Dio: Ecco il segno del patto, ch'io fo tra voi, e me, e con tutti gli animali viventi, che sono con voi per generazioni eterne.
13 I now set my bow in the clouds and it wil be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.	13 Porrò il mio arcobaleno nelle nuvole, e sarà il segno del patto tra me, e la terra.
14 When I gather the clouds over the earth and the bow appears in the clouds,	14 E quando io avrò coperto il cielo di nuvole, comparirà il mio arco nelle nuvole:
15 I shal recall the covenant between myself and you and every living creature, in a word al living things,and never again will the waters become a flood to destroy al living things.	15 E mi ricorderò del patto, che ho con voi, e con ogni anima vivente, che informa carne: e non verran più le acque del diluvio a sterminare tutti i viventi.
16 When the bow is in the clouds I shall see it and call to mind the eternal covenant between God andevery living creature on earth, that is, al living things.'	16 E l'arcobaleno sarà nelle nuvole, e io in veggendolo mi ricorderò del patto sempiterno fermato tra Dio, e tutte le anime viventi di ogni carne, che è sopra la terra.
17 'That', God told Noah, 'is the sign of the covenant I have established between myself and al livingthings on earth.'	17 E disse Dio a Noè: Questo è il segno del patto, che io ho fermato tra me, e tutti gli animali, che sono in terra.
18 The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth-Ham being the father ofCanaan.	18 Erano adunque i tre figliuoli di Noè, che uscirono dall'arca, Sem, Cham, e Japheth: e Cham è il padre di Chanaan.
19 These three were Noah's sons, and from these the whole earth was peopled.	19 Questi sono i tre figliuoli di Noè, e da questi si sparse tutto il genere umano sopra tutta la terra.
20 Noah, a til er of the soil, was the first to plant the vine.	20 E Noè, che era agricoltore, principiò a lavorare la terra, e piantare una vigna.
21 He drank some of the wine, and while he was drunk, he lay uncovered in his tent.	21 E avendo bevuto del vino si inebriò, e si spogliò de' suoi panni nel suo padiglione.
22 Ham, father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside.	22 E avendo veduto Cham padre di Chanaan la nudità del padre suo, andò a dirlo a' due suoi fratelli.
23 Shem and Japheth took a cloak and they both put it over their shoulders, and walking backwards,covered their father's nakedness; they kept their faces turned away, and they did not look at their father naked.	23 Ma Sem, e Japheth, messosi un mantello sopra le loro spalle, e camminando all'indietro coprirono la nudità del padre, tenendo le facce rivolte all'opposta parte, e non videro la sua nudità.
24 When Noah awoke from his stupor he learned what his youngest son had done to him,	24 E svegliatosi Noè dalla sua ebbrezza, avendo inteso quel che avea fatto a lui il suo figliuolo minore,
25 and said: Accursed be Canaan, he shal be his brothers' meanest slave.	25 Disse: Maledetto Chanaan, ei sarà servo de' servi a' suoi fratelli.
26 He added: Blessed be Yahweh, God of Shem, let Canaan be his slave!	26 E disse: Benedetto il Signore Dio di Sem; Chanaan sia suo servo.
27 May God make space for Japheth, may he live in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be his slave!	27 Dio amplifichi Japheth, e abiti ne' padiglioni di Sem, e Chanaan sia suo servo.
28 After the flood Noah lived three hundred and fifty years.	28 E visse Noè dopo il diluvio trecento cinquanta anni.
29 In al , Noah's life lasted nine hundred and fifty years; then he died.	29 E tutta intera la sua vita fu di novecento cinquanta anni, e si morì.
