Luke 21

1 When he looked up he saw some wealthy people putting their offerings into the treasury	1 Als er zuschaute, sah er, wie die Reichen die Gaben in den Opferkasten legten.
2 and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins.	2 Er sah auch, wie eine arme Witwe dort zwei Heller hineinlegte,
3 He said, "I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest;	3 und sprach: "Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Diese arme Witwe hat mehr hineingelegt als alle;
4 for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood."	4 denn sie alle haben von ihrem Überfluß hineingelegt zu den Gaben Gottes, sie aber legte von ihrer Armut den ganzen Lebensunterhalt hinein, den sie hatte."
5 While some people were speaking about how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings, he said,	5 Als einige über den Tempel redeten, wie er im Schmuck schöner Steine und Weihegeschenke stehe, sprach er:
6 "All that you see here--the days will come when there will not be left a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down."	6 "Was ihr da seht: Es werden Tage kommen, an denen nicht Stein auf Stein gelassen wird, ein jeder wird abgebrochen werden."
7 Then they asked him, "Teacher, when will this happen? And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?"	7 Sie fragten ihn: "Meister, wann wird denn dies geschehen, und was wird das Zeichen sein, wenn dieses Geschehen bevorsteht?"
8 He answered, "See that you not be deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, 'I am he,' and 'The time has come.' Do not follow them!	8 Er sprach: "Seht zu, daß ihr nicht verführt werdet! Denn viele werden kommen unter meinem Namen und sagen: "Ich bin es", und: "Die Zeit ist gekommen". Lauft ihnen nicht nach!
9 When you hear of wars and insurrections, do not be terrified; for such things must happen first, but it will not immediately be the end."	9 Wenn ihr aber von Kriegen und Aufständen hört, so laßt euch nicht schrecken; denn dies muß zuvor eintreten, aber nicht sogleich das Ende."
10 Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.	10 Dann sagte er ihnen: ""Aufstehen wird Volk wider Volk" (2Chron 15,6) und "Reich wider Reich" (Is 19,2)
11 There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues from place to place; and awesome sights and mighty signs will come from the sky.	11 und es werden große Erdbeben sein, Hungersnöte und Seuchen allerorts und Schrecknisse und große Zeichen vom Himmel.
12 "Before all this happens, however, they will seize and persecute you, they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons, and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name.	12 Doch noch vor diesem allen wird man Hand an euch legen und euch verfolgen: man wird euch an die Synagogen und Gefängnisse überliefern und vor Könige und Statthalter führen um meines Namens willen.
13 It will lead to your giving testimony.	13 Doch wird dies für euch zum Zeugnis gereichen.
14 Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand,	14 Nehmt es euch daher zu Herzen und macht euch nicht vorher schon Sorge wegen eurer Verteidigung!
15 for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.	15 Ich nämlich werde euch Rede und Weisheit geben, der alle eure Widersacher nicht widerstehen und widersprechen können.
16 You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death.	16 Ihr werdet überliefert werden sogar von Eltern und Brüdern, Verwandten und Freunden, und manche von euch wird man töten,
17 You will be hated by all because of my name,	17 und ihr werdet gehaßt sein von allen um meines Namens willen;
18 but not a hair on your head will be destroyed.	18 doch kein Haar von eurem Haupte wird verlorengehen.
19 By your perseverance you will secure your lives.	19 In eurer Standhaftigkeit werdet ihr euer Leben gewinnen.
20 "When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, know that its desolation is at hand.	20 Wenn ihr aber Jerusalem von Kriegsheeren umlagert seht, dann erkennt, daß seine Verwüstung nahe ist.
21 Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains. Let those within the city escape from it, and let those in the countryside not enter the city,	21 Dann sollen, die in Judäa sind, in die Berge fliehen, die drinnen sind in der Stadt, sollen fortziehen, und, die draußen sind auf dem Lande, nicht in sie hineingehen.
22 for these days are the time of punishment when all the scriptures are fulfilled.	22 Denn das sind die "Tage der Rache" (5Mos 32,35) zur Erfüllung all dessen, was geschrieben steht.
23 Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days, for a terrible calamity will come upon the earth and a wrathful judgment upon this people.	23 Wehe den Schwangeren und Stillenden in jenen Tagen! Denn es wird eine große Not sein über dem Lande und ein großes Strafgericht über diesem Volk.
24 They will fall by the edge of the sword and be taken as captives to all the Gentiles; and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.	24 Sie werden fallen durch die Schneide des Schwertes und als Gefangene weggeführt werden zu allen Völkern; Jerusalem aber wird von den Heidenvölkern zertreten werden, bis erfüllt sind die Zeiten der Heiden.
25 "There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on earth nations will be in dismay, perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves.	25 Es werden Zeichen sein an Sonne, Mond und Sternen, und auf Erden wird Angst und Bestürzung sein unter den Völkern wegen des Tosens des Meeres und seiner Brandung.
26 People will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.	26 Die Menschen werden verschmachten vor Furcht und vor Erwartung dessen, was hereinbrechen wird über den Erdkreis; denn die Kräfte des Himmels werden erschüttert werden.
27 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.	27 Dann werden sie den Menschensohn kommen sehen auf einer Wolke mit großer Macht und Herrlichkeit.
28 But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand."	28 Wenn aber dies zu geschehen anfängt, dann richtet euch auf und erhebt eure Häupter; denn es naht eure Erlösung."
29 He taught them a lesson. "Consider the fig tree and all the other trees.	29 Und er sagte ihnen ein Gleichnis: "Betrachtet den Feigenbaum und alle anderen Bäume.
30 When their buds burst open, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near;	30 Wenn sie bereits ausschlagen, erkennt ihr, wenn ihr hinseht, von selber, daß der Sommer schon nahe ist.
31 in the same way, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.	31 Ebenso auch sollt ihr, wenn ihr dies geschehen seht, erkennen, daß nahe ist das Reich Gottes.
32 Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place.	32 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Dieses Geschlecht wird nicht vergehen, bis alles geschieht!
33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.	33 Himmel und Erde werden vergehen, doch meine Worte werden nicht vergehen.
34 "Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise	34 Gebt acht, daß eure Herzen nicht belastet werden durch Rausch und Trunkenheit und irdische Sorgen, und daß euch jener Tag nicht unversehens überfalle
35 like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth.	35 wie eine Schlinge; denn hereinbrechen wird er über alle, die auf dem Antlitz der ganzen Erde wohnen.
36 Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man."	36 Wachet also und betet zu jeder Zeit, damit ihr imstande seid, all dem zu entrinnen, was kommen wird, und zu bestehen vor dem Menschensohn!"
37 During the day, Jesus was teaching in the temple area, but at night he would leave and stay at the place called the Mount of Olives.	37 So lehrte er bei Tag im Tempel, nachts aber ging er hinaus und nächtigte am Berge, der Ölberg genannt wird.
38 And all the people would get up early each morning to listen to him in the temple area.	38 Das ganze Volk kam schon frühmorgens zu ihm in den Tempel, um ihn zu hören.
