1 The LORD said to Moses,	1 - Ed il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
2 "Give the Israelites this order: When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the territory that shall fall to you as your heritage--the land of Canaan with its boundaries:	2 «Ordina, e di' questo ai figli d'Israele: - Quando sarete entrati nella terra di Canaan, e sarà diventata vostra possessione ed eredità i suoi confini saranno questi:
3 "Your southern boundary shall be at the desert of Zin along the border of Edom; on the east it shall begin at the end of the Salt Sea,	3 La parte meridionale comincerà dal deserto di Sin presso Edom, e terminerà ad oriente col Mare di Sale.
4 and turning south of the Akrabbim Pass, it shall cross Zin, and extend south of Kadesh-barnea to Hazar-addar; thence it shall cross to Azmon,	4 I confini di detta regione australe gireranno per la Salita dello Scorpione, in modo da passare per Senna, e giungere a mezzogiorno sino a Cadesbarne: di lì andranno alla Villa detta di Adar, e si stenderanno sino ad Asemona.
5 and turning from Azmon to the Wadi of Egypt, shall terminate at the Sea.	5 Poi gireranno da Asemona sino al torrente d'Egitto, e finiranno alla costa del Gran Mare.
6 "For your western boundary you shall have the Great Sea with its coast; this shall be your western boundary.	6 La regione occidentale comincerà al Gran Mare, che sarà tutta la sua frontiera.
7 "The following shall be your boundary on the north: from the Great Sea you shall draw a line to Mount Hor,	7 Per la regione settentrionale, i limiti moveranno dal Mar Grande, e giungeranno sino al Monte Altissimo;
8 and shall continue it from Mount Hor to Labo in the land of Hamath, with the boundary extending through Zedad.	8 di lì verranno per Emat sino ai confini di Sedada,
9 Thence the boundary shall reach to Ziphron and terminate at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern boundary.	9 ed arriveranno sino a Zefrona ed alla Villa di Enan. Son questi i confini settentrionali.
10 "For your eastern boundary you shall draw a line from Hazar-enan to Shepham.	10 Di lì poi, sul lato orientale, i confini si misureranno dalla Villa di Enan sino a Sefama;
11 From Shepham the boundary shall go down to Ar-Baal, east of Ain, and descending further, shall strike the ridge on the east side of the Sea of Chinnereth;	11 da Sefama scenderanno in Rebla di contro alla fonte di Dafnim; di qui giungeranno verso oriente al Mare di Ceneret,
12 thence the boundary shall continue along the Jordan and terminate with the Salt Sea. "This is the land that shall be yours, with the boundaries that surround it."	12 si stenderanno sino al Giordano, ed in ultimo si chiuderanno al Mare di Sale. Questa sarà la terra che possederete, e questi i suoi confini tutto all'intorno-».
13 Moses also gave this order to the Israelites: "This is the land, to be apportioned among you by lot, which the LORD has commanded to be given to the nine and one half tribes.	13 E Mosè fece un bando a' figli d'Israele dicendo: «È questa la terra che vi toccherà in sorte, e che il Signore ha comandato si dia a nove tribù e mezzo.
14 For all the ancestral houses of the tribe of Reuben, and the ancestral houses of the tribe of Gad, as well as half of the tribe of Manasseh, have already received their heritage;	14 Perchè la tribù de' figli di Ruben secondo le sue famiglie, la tribù de' figli di Gad secondo il numero delle sue casate, e mezza tribù di Manasse,
15 these two and one half tribes have received their heritage on the eastern side of the Jericho stretch of the Jordan, toward the sunrise."	15 cioè due tribù e mezzo, hanno già ricevuto la loro parte di là del Giordano, di contro a Gerico, nella regione orientale».
16 The LORD said to Moses,	16 Ed il Signore disse a Mosè:
17 "These are the names of the men who shall apportion the land among you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua, son of Nun,	17 «Ecco i nomi degli uomini che spartiranno la terra fra voi: Eleazaro sacerdote, Giosuè figlio di Nun,
18 and one prince from each of the tribes whom you shall designate for this task.	18 ed uno de' principali d'ogni tribù,
19 These shall be as follows: from the tribe of Judah: Caleb, son of Jephunneh,	19 dei quali ecco i nomi: Della tribù di Giuda, Caleb figlio di Iefone;
20 from the tribe of Simeon: Samuel, son of Ammihud;	20 della tribù di Simeon, Samuel figlio di Ammiud;
21 from the tribe of Benjamin: Elidad, son of Chislon;	21 della tribù di Beniamino, Elidad figlio di Caselon;
22 from the tribe of Dan: Bukki, son of Jogli;	22 della tribù de' figli di Dan, Bocci figlio di Iogli.
23 from the tribe of Manasseh: Hanniel, son of Ephod; and	23 Pei figli di Giuseppe, della tribù di Manasse, Hanniel figlio di Efod;
24 from the tribe of Ephraim: Kemuel, son of Shiphtan, for the descendants of Joseph;	24 della tribù di Efraim, Camuel figlio di Seftan.
25 from the tribe of Zebulun: Elizaphan, son of Parnach;	25 Della tribù di Zabulon, Elisafan figlio di Farnac;
26 from the tribe of Issachar: Paltiel, son of Azzan;	26 della tribù di Issacar, Faltiel principe figlio di Ozan;
27 from the tribe of Asher: Ahihud, son of Shelomi;	27 della tribù di Aser, Aiud figlio di Salomi;
28 from the tribe of Naphtali: Pedahel, son of Ammihud."	28 della tribù di Neftali, Fedael figlio di Ammiud».
29 These are they whom the LORD commanded to assign the Israelites their heritage in the land of Canaan.	29 Questi son quelli ai quali il Signore comandò che spartissero tra' figli d'Israele la terra di Canaan.
