1 The LORD said to Moses,	1 Yahvé dit à Moïse:
2 "Give the Israelites this order: When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the territory that shall fall to you as your heritage--the land of Canaan with its boundaries:	2 “Voici un ordre pour les Israélites. Tu leur diras: Lorsque vous serez entrés dans le pays de Canaan, voici le territoire qui sera votre possession: c’est le pays de Canaan selon ses frontières.
3 "Your southern boundary shall be at the desert of Zin along the border of Edom; on the east it shall begin at the end of the Salt Sea,	3 Il s’étendra au sud jusqu’au désert de Tsin à la limite d’Édom. Votre frontière au sud commencera à l’est de la Mer Salée.
4 and turning south of the Akrabbim Pass, it shall cross Zin, and extend south of Kadesh-barnea to Hazar-addar; thence it shall cross to Azmon,	4 Elle descendra ensuite vers le sud dans la direction de la Montée-des-Scorpions, elle passera par Tsin et arrivera au sud à Qadesh-Barné. Elle ira ensuite vers Hasar-Addar, elle passera par Asmon,
5 and turning from Azmon to the Wadi of Egypt, shall terminate at the Sea.	5 et d’Asmon, la frontière tournera vers le torrent d’Égypte pour aboutir à la mer.
6 "For your western boundary you shall have the Great Sea with its coast; this shall be your western boundary.	6 La Grande Mer vous servira de frontière maritime, ce sera votre frontière occidentale.
7 "The following shall be your boundary on the north: from the Great Sea you shall draw a line to Mount Hor,	7 Voici votre frontière au nord: de la Grande Mer vous tracerez une ligne vers Hor-la-Montagne,
8 and shall continue it from Mount Hor to Labo in the land of Hamath, with the boundary extending through Zedad.	8 puis de Hor-la-Montagne vous tracerez encore une ligne jusqu’à l’Entrée-de-Hamat. La frontière passera à Sédad,
9 Thence the boundary shall reach to Ziphron and terminate at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern boundary.	9 elle se prolongera vers Zifron et s’achèvera à Hasar-Énan. Voilà quelle sera votre frontière au nord.
10 "For your eastern boundary you shall draw a line from Hazar-enan to Shepham.	10 Pour la frontière de l’est, vous tracerez une ligne depuis Hasar-Énan jusqu’à Chéfam.
11 From Shepham the boundary shall go down to Ar-Baal, east of Ain, and descending further, shall strike the ridge on the east side of the Sea of Chinnereth;	11 La frontière descendra de Chéfam vers Harbel, à l’est d’Ayin, elle descendra encore pour rejoindre la rive orientale de la mer de Kinnéret.
12 thence the boundary shall continue along the Jordan and terminate with the Salt Sea. "This is the land that shall be yours, with the boundaries that surround it."	12 Ensuite la frontière longera le Jourdain pour arriver à la Mer Salée. Voilà votre pays avec les frontières qui l’entourent.”
13 Moses also gave this order to the Israelites: "This is the land, to be apportioned among you by lot, which the LORD has commanded to be given to the nine and one half tribes.	13 Moïse donna cet ordre aux Israélites: “Voilà le pays que vous vous partagerez par le sort. Yahvé a ordonné de le donner aux neuf tribus et à la demi tribu.
14 For all the ancestral houses of the tribe of Reuben, and the ancestral houses of the tribe of Gad, as well as half of the tribe of Manasseh, have already received their heritage;	14 En effet, les clans de la tribu de Ruben, les clans de la tribu de Gad et la demi-tribu de Manassé ont déjà pris leur part d’héritage.
15 these two and one half tribes have received their heritage on the eastern side of the Jericho stretch of the Jordan, toward the sunrise."	15 Ces deux tribus et cette demi-tribu ont pris leur héritage au-delà du Jourdain, à l’est.”
16 The LORD said to Moses,	16 Yahvé dit encore à Moïse:
17 "These are the names of the men who shall apportion the land among you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua, son of Nun,	17 “Voici les noms des hommes qui feront le partage du pays: Éléazar, le prêtre, et Josué fils de Noun.
18 and one prince from each of the tribes whom you shall designate for this task.	18 Vous choisirez aussi un chef par tribu pour partager le pays.
19 These shall be as follows: from the tribe of Judah: Caleb, son of Jephunneh,	19 Voici les noms de ces hommes: pour la tribu de Juda, Caleb fils de Yéfouné;
20 from the tribe of Simeon: Samuel, son of Ammihud;	20 pour la tribu de Siméon, Chémouel fils d’Ammihoud;
21 from the tribe of Benjamin: Elidad, son of Chislon;	21 pour la tribu de Benjamin, Élidad fils de Kislon;
22 from the tribe of Dan: Bukki, son of Jogli;	22 pour la tribu de Dan, le chef Bouki fils de Yogli;
23 from the tribe of Manasseh: Hanniel, son of Ephod; and	23 pour les fils de Joseph, pour la tribu de Manassé, le chef Hanniel fils d’Éfod;
24 from the tribe of Ephraim: Kemuel, son of Shiphtan, for the descendants of Joseph;	24 et pour la tribu d’Éphraïm, le chef Kémouel fils de Chiftan;
25 from the tribe of Zebulun: Elizaphan, son of Parnach;	25 pour la tribu de Zabulon, le chef Élisafan fils de Parnak;
26 from the tribe of Issachar: Paltiel, son of Azzan;	26 pour la tribu d’Issacar, le chef Paltiel fils d’Azzan;
27 from the tribe of Asher: Ahihud, son of Shelomi;	27 pour la tribu d’Asher, le chef Ahioud fils de Chélomi;
28 from the tribe of Naphtali: Pedahel, son of Ammihud."	28 pour la tribu de Nephtali, le chef Pédahel fils d’Ammihoud.
29 These are they whom the LORD commanded to assign the Israelites their heritage in the land of Canaan.	29 Ce sont eux que Yahvé désigna pour partager la terre de Canaan entre les Israélites.
