1 The LORD said to Moses,	1 Il Signore disse a Mosè:
2 "Give the Israelites this order: When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the territory that shall fall to you as your heritage--the land of Canaan with its boundaries:	2 "Ordina ai figli d'Israele e di' loro: Poiché state per entrare nella terra di Canaan, questa sarà la terra che otterrete come eredità: la terra di Canaan.
3 "Your southern boundary shall be at the desert of Zin along the border of Edom; on the east it shall begin at the end of the Salt Sea,	3 Il vostro confine meridionale sarà dal deserto di Zin, a fianco di Edom, e il vostro confine meridionale sarà l'estremità del Mar Morto, a est.
4 and turning south of the Akrabbim Pass, it shall cross Zin, and extend south of Kadesh-barnea to Hazar-addar; thence it shall cross to Azmon,	4 Poi il vostro confine meridionale girerà verso la salita di Akrabbim, passerà per Zin, e i suoi sbocchi saranno a sud di Kades-Barnea; uscirà a Cazar-Addar e passerà per Azmon.

6 "For your western boundary you shall have the Great Sea with its coast; this shall be your western boundary.	6 Il vostro confine a occidente sarà il Mar Mediterraneo: questo sarà per voi il confine occidentale.
7 "The following shall be your boundary on the north: from the Great Sea you shall draw a line to Mount Hor,	7 Questo sarà il vostro confine settentrionale: dal Mar Mediterraneo vi traccerete una linea fino al monte Or,
8 and shall continue it from Mount Hor to Labo in the land of Hamath, with the boundary extending through Zedad.	8 dal monte Or traccerete una linea fino all'ingresso di Camat, e lo sbocco del confine sarà a Zedad;
9 Thence the boundary shall reach to Ziphron and terminate at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern boundary.	9 il confine uscirà poi a Zifron e il suo sbocco sarà a Cazar-Enan. Questo sarà il vostro confine settentrionale.
10 "For your eastern boundary you shall draw a line from Hazar-enan to Shepham.	10 Per il confine orientale, vi traccerete una linea da Cazar-Enan a Sefam.
11 From Shepham the boundary shall go down to Ar-Baal, east of Ain, and descending further, shall strike the ridge on the east side of the Sea of Chinnereth;	11 Il confine scenderà da Sefam a Ribla, a est di Ain; il confine scenderà e lambirà il fianco del lago di Genezaret, a est.
12 thence the boundary shall continue along the Jordan and terminate with the Salt Sea. "This is the land that shall be yours, with the boundaries that surround it."	12 Il confine scenderà al Giordano, e il suo sbocco sarà al Mar Morto. 13 Moses also gave this order to the Israelites: "This is the land, to be apportioned among you by lot, which the LORD has commanded to be given to the nine and one half tribes.	13 Mosè ordinò ai figli d'Israele: "Questa è la terra che vi spartirete in sorte, che il Signore ordinò di dare alle nove tribù e mezzo,
14 For all the ancestral houses of the tribe of Reuben, and the ancestral houses of the tribe of Gad, as well as half of the tribe of Manasseh, have already received their heritage;	14 poiché la tribù dei figli di Ruben, secondo la casa dei loro padri, e la tribù dei figli di Gad, secondo la casa dei loro padri, e la metà tribù di Manasse hanno già preso la loro eredità:
15 these two and one half tribes have received their heritage on the eastern side of the Jericho stretch of the Jordan, toward the sunrise."	15 le due tribù e mezzo presero la loro eredità al di là del Giordano di Gerico, a oriente".

17 "These are the names of the men who shall apportion the land among you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua, son of Nun,	17 "Questi sono i nomi degli uomini che spartiranno tra voi il paese: il sacerdote Eleazaro e Giosuè, figlio di Nun;
18 and one prince from each of the tribes whom you shall designate for this task.	18 prenderete anche un capo per ogni tribù, per fare la spartizione della terra.
19 These shall be as follows: from the tribe of Judah: Caleb, son of Jephunneh,	19 Questi sono i nomi degli uomini. Per la tribù di Giuda, Caleb, figlio di Iefunne;
20 from the tribe of Simeon: Samuel, son of Ammihud;	20 per la tribù dei figli di Simeone, Samuele, figlio di Ammiud;
21 from the tribe of Benjamin: Elidad, son of Chislon;	21 per la tribù di Beniamino, Elidad, figlio di Chislon;
22 from the tribe of Dan: Bukki, son of Jogli;	22 per la tribù dei figli di Dan, il capo Bukki, figlio di Iogli;
23 from the tribe of Manasseh: Hanniel, son of Ephod; and	23 per i figli di Giuseppe: per la tribù dei figli di Manasse, il capo Anniel, figlio di Efod,
24 from the tribe of Ephraim: Kemuel, son of Shiphtan, for the descendants of Joseph;	24 e per la tribù dei figli di Efraim, il capo Kemuel, figlio di Siptan;
25 from the tribe of Zebulun: Elizaphan, son of Parnach;	25 per la tribù dei figli di Zabulon, il capo Elisafan, figlio di Parnac;
26 from the tribe of Issachar: Paltiel, son of Azzan;	26 per la tribù dei figli di Issacar, il capo Paltiel, figlio di Azzan;
27 from the tribe of Asher: Ahihud, son of Shelomi;	27 per la tribù dei figli di Aser, il capo Achiud, figlio di Selomi;
28 from the tribe of Naphtali: Pedahel, son of Ammihud."	28 per la tribù dei figli di Neftali, il capo Pedael, figlio di Ammiud".
29 These are they whom the LORD commanded to assign the Israelites their heritage in the land of Canaan.	29 A questi il Signore ordinò di dividere tra i figli d'Israele la terra di Canaan.
