1 The LORD said to Moses,	1 Jahvè parlò a Mosè:
2 "Give the Israelites this order: When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the territory that shall fall to you as your heritage--the land of Canaan with its boundaries:	2 «Ordina ai figli di Israele, di’ loro: “Quando sarete giunti nella terra di Canaan, questa sarà la terra che vi toccherà in eredità: la terra di Canaan con le sue frontiere.
3 "Your southern boundary shall be at the desert of Zin along the border of Edom; on the east it shall begin at the end of the Salt Sea,	3 Il vostro lato meridionale inizierà dal deserto di Sin, lungo il fianco di Edom; e la vostra frontiera meridionale inizierà a oriente, dall’estremità del Mare Salato.
4 and turning south of the Akrabbim Pass, it shall cross Zin, and extend south of Kadesh-barnea to Hazar-addar; thence it shall cross to Azmon,	4 La frontiera volterà poi a sud, verso la salita di Akrabbim, passerà da Sin e terminerà a mezzogiorno di Kadesh-Barne; andrà poi a Khazar-Addar e passerà per Azmon.
5 and turning from Azmon to the Wadi of Egypt, shall terminate at the Sea.	5 Da Azmon volterà verso il torrente d’Egitto e terminerà al mare.
6 "For your western boundary you shall have the Great Sea with its coast; this shall be your western boundary.	6 La vostra frontiera occidentale sarà il Mare Grande: questa sarà la vostra frontiera occidentale.
7 "The following shall be your boundary on the north: from the Great Sea you shall draw a line to Mount Hor,	7 Ecco la vostra frontiera settentrionale: dal Mare Grande traccerete una linea fino al monte Hor,
8 and shall continue it from Mount Hor to Labo in the land of Hamath, with the boundary extending through Zedad.	8 dal monte Hor traccerete una linea in direzione di Hamat e la frontiera terminerà a Zeded;
9 Thence the boundary shall reach to Ziphron and terminate at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern boundary.	9 la frontiera proseguirà poi per Zifron per terminare a Khazar-Enan: questa sarà la vostra frontiera settentrionale.
10 "For your eastern boundary you shall draw a line from Hazar-enan to Shepham.	10 Traccerete la vostra frontiera orientale da Khazar-Enan a Shefam;
11 From Shepham the boundary shall go down to Ar-Baal, east of Ain, and descending further, shall strike the ridge on the east side of the Sea of Chinnereth;	11 da Shefam la frontiera discenderà verso Harbel a oriente di Ain, poi la frontiera discenderà ancora e rasenterà la riva orientale del Mare di Genezaret.
12 thence the boundary shall continue along the Jordan and terminate with the Salt Sea. "This is the land that shall be yours, with the boundaries that surround it."	12 La frontiera discenderà infine lungo il Giordano per terminare al Mare Salato: questa sarà la vostra terra con le sue frontiere tutto intorno”».
13 Moses also gave this order to the Israelites: "This is the land, to be apportioned among you by lot, which the LORD has commanded to be given to the nine and one half tribes.	13 Mosè ordinò allora ai figli di Israele: «Questa è la terra che vi dividerete a sorte e che Jahvè ha ordinato di dare a nove tribù e mezza;
14 For all the ancestral houses of the tribe of Reuben, and the ancestral houses of the tribe of Gad, as well as half of the tribe of Manasseh, have already received their heritage;	14 poiché la tribù dei figli di Ruben con le famiglie, la tribù dei figli di Gad con le famiglie, e anche metà della tribù di Manasse hanno già ricevuto l’eredità.
15 these two and one half tribes have received their heritage on the eastern side of the Jericho stretch of the Jordan, toward the sunrise."	15 Queste due tribù e mezza hanno già ricevuto l’eredità al di là del Giordano di Gerico, a est, a levante».
16 The LORD said to Moses,	16 Jahvè parlò a Mosè:
17 "These are the names of the men who shall apportion the land among you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua, son of Nun,	17 «Questi sono gli uomini che vi divideranno la terra: il sacerdote Eleazaro e Giosuè, figlio di Nun;
18 and one prince from each of the tribes whom you shall designate for this task.	18 inoltre, per fare la divisione della terra, prenderete un principe da ogni tribù.
19 These shall be as follows: from the tribe of Judah: Caleb, son of Jephunneh,	19 Questi sono i nomi degli uomini: Caleb, figlio di Jefunne, per la tribù di Giuda;
20 from the tribe of Simeon: Samuel, son of Ammihud;	20 Shemuel, figlio di Ammihud, per la tribù dei figli di Simeone;
21 from the tribe of Benjamin: Elidad, son of Chislon;	21 Elidad, figlio di Chislon, per la tribù di Beniamin;
22 from the tribe of Dan: Bukki, son of Jogli;	22 il principe Bukki, figlio di Jogli, per la tribù dei figli di Dan;
23 from the tribe of Manasseh: Hanniel, son of Ephod; and	23 per i figli di Giuseppe: il principe Khanniel, figlio di Efod, per la tribù dei figli di Manasse,
24 from the tribe of Ephraim: Kemuel, son of Shiphtan, for the descendants of Joseph;	24 e il principe Kemuel, figlio di Shiftan, per la tribù dei figli di Efraim;
25 from the tribe of Zebulun: Elizaphan, son of Parnach;	25 il principe Elizafan, figlio di Parnach, per la tribù dei figli di Zabulon;
26 from the tribe of Issachar: Paltiel, son of Azzan;	26 il principe Paltiel, figlio di Azzan, per la tribù dei gli di Issachar;
27 from the tribe of Asher: Ahihud, son of Shelomi;	27 il principe Akhihur, figlio di Shelomi, per la tribù dei figli di Asher;
28 from the tribe of Naphtali: Pedahel, son of Ammihud."	28 il principe Pedahel, figlio di Ammihud, per la tribù dei figli di Neftali.
29 These are they whom the LORD commanded to assign the Israelites their heritage in the land of Canaan.	29 Questi sono coloro ai quali Jahvè ordinò di dividere la terra di Canaan tra i figli di Israele».
