Psalms 50

1 A psalm of Asaph. The LORD, the God of gods, has spoken and summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.	1 Salmo. Di Asaf.Parla il Signore, Dio degli dèi,convoca la terra da oriente a occidente.
2 From Zion God shines forth. perfect in beauty.	2 Da Sion, bellezza perfetta,Dio risplende.
3 Our God comes and will not be silent! Devouring fire precedes, storming fiercely round about.	3 Viene il nostro Dio e non sta in silenzio;davanti a lui un fuoco divorante,intorno a lui si scatena la tempesta.
4 God summons the heavens above and the earth to the judgment of his people:	4 Convoca il cielo dall’altoe la terra per giudicare il suo popolo:
5 "Gather my faithful ones before me, those who made a covenant with me by sacrifice."	5 «Davanti a me riunite i miei fedeli,che hanno stabilito con me l’alleanzaoffrendo un sacrificio».
6 The heavens proclaim divine justice, for God alone is the judge. Selah	6 I cieli annunciano la sua giustizia:è Dio che giudica.
7 "Listen, my people, I will speak; Israel, I will testify against you; God, your God, am I.	7 «Ascolta, popolo mio, voglio parlare,testimonierò contro di te, Israele!Io sono Dio, il tuo Dio!
8 Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you, nor for your holocausts, set before me daily.	8 Non ti rimprovero per i tuoi sacrifici,i tuoi olocausti mi stanno sempre davanti.
9 I need no bullock from your house, no goats from your fold.	9 Non prenderò vitelli dalla tua casané capri dai tuoi ovili.
10 For every animal of the forest is mine, beasts by the thousands on my mountains.	10 Sono mie tutte le bestie della foresta,animali a migliaia sui monti.
11 I know every bird of the heavens; the creatures of the field belong to me.	11 Conosco tutti gli uccelli del cielo,è mio ciò che si muove nella campagna.
12 Were I hungry, I would not tell you, for mine is the world and all that fills it.	12 Se avessi fame, non te lo direi:mio è il mondo e quanto contiene.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?	13 Mangerò forse la carne dei tori?Berrò forse il sangue dei capri?
14 Offer praise as your sacrifice to God; fulfill your vows to the Most High.	14 Offri a Dio come sacrificio la lodee sciogli all’Altissimo i tuoi voti;
15 Then call on me in time of distress; I will rescue you, and you shall honor me."	15 invocami nel giorno dell’angoscia:ti libererò e tu mi darai gloria».
16 But to the wicked God says: "Why do you recite my commandments and profess my covenant with your lips?	16 Al malvagio Dio dice:«Perché vai ripetendo i miei decretie hai sempre in bocca la mia alleanza,
17 You hate discipline; you cast my words behind you!	17 tu che hai in odio la disciplinae le mie parole ti getti alle spalle?
18 When you see thieves, you befriend them; with adulterers you throw in your lot.	18 Se vedi un ladro, corri con luie degli adùlteri ti fai compagno.
19 You give your mouth free rein for evil; you harness your tongue to deceit.	19 Abbandoni la tua bocca al malee la tua lingua trama inganni.
20 You sit maligning your own kin, slandering the child of your own mother.	20 Ti siedi, parli contro il tuo fratello,getti fango contro il figlio di tua madre.
21 When you do these things should I be silent? Or do you think that I am like you? I accuse you, I lay the charge before you.	21 Hai fatto questo e io dovrei tacere?Forse credevi che io fossi come te!Ti rimprovero: pongo davanti a te la mia accusa.
22 "Understand this, you who forget God, lest I attack you with no one to rescue.	22 Capite questo, voi che dimenticate Dio,perché non vi afferri per sbranarvie nessuno vi salvi.
23 Those who offer praise as a sacrifice honor me; to the obedient I will show the salvation of God."	23 Chi offre la lode in sacrificio, questi mi onora;a chi cammina per la retta viamostrerò la salvezza di Dio».
