1 A psalm of Asaph. The LORD, the God of gods, has spoken and summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.	1 'Salmo. Di Asaf.' Parla il Signore, Dio degli dèi, convoca la terra da oriente a occidente.
2 From Zion God shines forth. perfect in beauty.	2 Da Sion, splendore di bellezza, Dio rifulge.
3 Our God comes and will not be silent! Devouring fire precedes, storming fiercely round about.	3 Viene il nostro Dio e non sta in silenzio; davanti a lui un fuoco divorante, intorno a lui si scatena la tempesta.
4 God summons the heavens above and the earth to the judgment of his people:	4 Convoca il cielo dall'alto e la terra al giudizio del suo popolo:
5 "Gather my faithful ones before me, those who made a covenant with me by sacrifice."	5 "Davanti a me riunite i miei fedeli, che hanno sancito con me l'alleanza offrendo un sacrificio".
6 The heavens proclaim divine justice, for God alone is the judge. Selah	6 Il cielo annunzi la sua giustizia, Dio è il giudice.
7 "Listen, my people, I will speak; Israel, I will testify against you; God, your God, am I.	7 "Ascolta, popolo mio, voglio parlare, testimonierò contro di te, Israele: Io sono Dio, il tuo Dio.
8 Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you, nor for your holocausts, set before me daily.	8 Non ti rimprovero per i tuoi sacrifici; i tuoi olocausti mi stanno sempre davanti.
9 I need no bullock from your house, no goats from your fold.	9 Non prenderò giovenchi dalla tua casa, né capri dai tuoi recinti.
10 For every animal of the forest is mine, beasts by the thousands on my mountains.	10 Sono mie tutte le bestie della foresta, animali a migliaia sui monti.
11 I know every bird of the heavens; the creatures of the field belong to me.	11 Conosco tutti gli uccelli del cielo, è mio ciò che si muove nella campagna.
12 Were I hungry, I would not tell you, for mine is the world and all that fills it.	12 Se avessi fame, a te non lo direi: mio è il mondo e quanto contiene.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?	13 Mangerò forse la carne dei tori, berrò forse il sangue dei capri?
14 Offer praise as your sacrifice to God; fulfill your vows to the Most High.	14 Offri a Dio un sacrificio di lode e sciogli all'Altissimo i tuoi voti;
15 Then call on me in time of distress; I will rescue you, and you shall honor me."	15 invocami nel giorno della sventura: ti salverò e tu mi darai gloria".
16 But to the wicked God says: "Why do you recite my commandments and profess my covenant with your lips?	16 All'empio dice Dio: "Perché vai ripetendo i miei decreti e hai sempre in bocca la mia alleanza,
17 You hate discipline; you cast my words behind you!	17 tu che detesti la disciplina e le mie parole te le getti alle spalle?
18 When you see thieves, you befriend them; with adulterers you throw in your lot.	18 Se vedi un ladro, corri con lui; e degli adùlteri ti fai compagno.
19 You give your mouth free rein for evil; you harness your tongue to deceit.	19 Abbandoni la tua bocca al male e la tua lingua ordisce inganni.
20 You sit maligning your own kin, slandering the child of your own mother.	20 Ti siedi, parli contro il tuo fratello, getti fango contro il figlio di tua madre.
21 When you do these things should I be silent? Or do you think that I am like you? I accuse you, I lay the charge before you.	21 Hai fatto questo e dovrei tacere? forse credevi ch'io fossi come te! Ti rimprovero: ti pongo innanzi i tuoi peccati".
22 "Understand this, you who forget God, lest I attack you with no one to rescue.	22 Capite questo voi che dimenticate Dio, perché non mi adiri e nessuno vi salvi.
23 Those who offer praise as a sacrifice honor me; to the obedient I will show the salvation of God."	23 Chi offre il sacrificio di lode, questi mi onora, a chi cammina per la retta via mostrerò la salvezza di Dio.
