Psalms 141

1 A psalm of David. LORD, I call to you; come quickly to help me; listen to my plea when I call.	1 - [Salmo] d'intelligenza. Di David, quand'era nella spelonca. Preghiera.
2 Let my prayer be incense before you; my uplifted hands an evening sacrifice.	2 Con la mia voce io grido al Signore, con la mia voce il Signore io supplico.
3 Set a guard, LORD, before my mouth, a gatekeeper at my lips.	3 Effondo al suo cospetto la mia preghierae la mia tribolazione dinanzi a lui racconto,
4 Do not let my heart incline to evil, or yield to any sin. I will never feast upon the fine food of evildoers.	4 mentre vien meno in me lo spirito. Ma tu conosci i miei sentieri! Sulla via per cui cammino, han nascosto un laccio per me.
5 Let the just strike me; that is kindness; let them rebuke me; that is oil for my head. All this I shall not refuse, but will pray despite these trials.	5 Guardo a destra e vedo: non c'é chi mi riconosca e si [curi di me]! È perduto [ogni] scampo per me, e non c'è chi s'occupi dell'anima mia.
6 When their leaders are cast over the cliff, all will learn that my prayers were heard.	6 Io grido a te, o Signore, io dico: «Tu sei la mia speranza [e il mio rifugio], la mia porzione sulla terra de' viventi!».
7 As when a farmer plows a field into broken clods, so their bones will be strewn at the mouth of Sheol.	7 Bada alla mia supplica, perchè abbattuto io sono oltremodo. Liberami da coloro che mi perseguitano, chè son più forti di me.
8 My eyes are upon you, O GOD, my Lord; in you I take refuge; do not strip me of life.	8 Trai fuori dal carcere l'anima mia, perch'io celebri il tuo nome. Mi aspettano i giusti, sin che tu mi largisca [il tuo favore].
9 Guard me from the trap they have set for me, from the snares of evildoers.
10 Into their own nets let all the wicked fall, while I make good my own escape.
