1 Lo, all this my eye has seen; my ear has heard and perceived it.	1 Sì, il mio occhio ha visto tutto questo, il mio orecchio l'ha udito e l'ha compreso.
2 What you know, I also know; I fall not short of you.	2 Ciò che voi sapete, lo so anch'io, non sono da meno di voi.
3 But I would speak with the Almighty; I wish to reason with God.	3 Però voglio rivolgermi all'Onnipotente, desidero discutere con Dio.
4 You are glossing over falsehoods and offering vain remedies, every one of you!	4 Voi invece siete manipolatori di falsità, siete tutti medici da nulla.
5 Oh, that you would be altogether silent! This for you would be wisdom.	5 Oh, se taceste del tutto, sarebbe per voi un atto di sapienza!
6 Hear now the rebuke I shall utter and listen to the reproof from my lips.	6 Ascoltate, vi prego, la mia difesa, e fate attenzione alla perorazione delle mie labbra.
7 Is it for God that you speak falsehood? Is it for him that you utter deceit?	7 Volete forse dire falsità in favore di Dio e per lui parlare con inganno?
8 Is it for him that you show partiality? Do you play advocate on behalf of God?	8 Volete prendere il partito di Dio e farvi suoi avvocati?
9 Will it be well when he shall search you out? Would you impose on him as one does on men?	9 Sarebbe bene che vi esaminasse, o volete ingannarlo come si inganna un uomo?
10 He will openly rebuke you if even in secret you show partiality.	10 Certamente egli vi riprenderà, se in segreto prendete partito per qualcuno.
11 Surely will his majesty affright you and the dread of him fall upon you.	11 La sua maestà non vi spaventa e il terrore di lui non vi assale?
12 Your reminders are ashy maxims, your fabrications are mounds of clay.	12 Le vostre sentenze sono proverbi di cenere, le vostre risposte sono difese d'argilla.
13 Be silent, let me alone! that I may speak and give vent to my feelings.	13 Tacete, lasciatemi; ora voglio parlare io, qualunque cosa mi càpiti.
14 I will carry my flesh between my teeth, and take my life in my hand.	14 Afferrerò la mia carne con i denti, porrò la mia vita nelle mie mani.
15 Slay me though he might, I will wait for him; I will defend my conduct before him.	15 Certo, mi ucciderà, non ho più speranza; tuttavia difenderò la mia condotta davanti a lui.
16 And this shall be my salvation, that no impious man can come into his presence.	16 Già questo sarà per me una vittoria, perché un empio non compare davanti a lui.
17 Pay careful heed to my speech, and give my statement a hearing.	17 Ascoltate attentamente le mie parole, e il mio discorso giunga ai vostri orecchi.
18 Behold, I have prepared my case, I know that I am in the right.	18 Ecco, ho preparato un processo, cosciente di essere innocente.
19 If anyone can make a case against me, then I shall be silent and die.	19 Chi dunque vuole contendere con me? Tacere ora sarebbe morire.
20 These things only do not use against me, then from your presence I need not hide:	20 Solo, assicurami queste due cose, e allora non mi nasconderò davanti a te.
21 Withdraw your hand far from me, and let not the terror of you frighten me.	21 Allontana da me la tua mano, e il tuo terrore più non mi spaventi;
22 Then call me, and I will respond; or let me speak first, and answer me.	22 poi accusami e io risponderò, oppure parlerò io e tu risponderai.
23 What are my faults and my sins? My misdeeds and my sins make known to me!	23 Quante sono le mie colpe e i miei peccati? Fammi conoscere le mie trasgressioni e le mie mancanze!
24 Why do you hide your face and consider me your enemy?	24 Perché nascondi il tuo volto e mi consideri come un tuo nemico?
25 Will you harass a wind-driven leaf, or pursue a withered straw?	25 Perché vuoi spaventare una foglia sbattuta dal vento, e ti accanisci contro una paglia secca?
26 For you draw up bitter indictments against me, and punish in me the faults of my youth.	26 Perché tu redigi contro di me amari verdetti e mi imputi le colpe della mia giovinezza?
27 You put my feet in the stocks; you watch all my paths and trace out all my footsteps.	27 Tu poni i miei piedi nei ceppi e sorvegli tutti i miei passi rilevando le impronte dei miei piedi.
28 Though he wears out like a leather bottle, like a garment that the moth has consumed?
