Philemon 1

1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,	1 Paolo, prigioniero di Cristo Gesù, e il fratello Timoteo, al diletto Filemone e nostro collaboratore,
2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:	2 alla sorella Appia, ad Archippo, nostro compagno d'armi, e alla chiesa che si raduna in casa tua;
3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	3 grazia a voi e pace da Dio Padre nostro e da Gesù Cristo Signore.
4 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,	4 Ogni volta che mi ricordo di te, nelle mie preghiere ringrazio il mio Dio,
5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;	5 sentendo parlare del tuo amore e della fede che hai verso il Signore Gesù e verso tutti i santi,
6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.	6 affinché la solidarietà della tua fede sia operante in forza di una più piena conoscenza di tutto il bene che si compie tra noi e per il Cristo.
7 For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.	7 Ho provato infatti una gioia profonda e consolazione per il tuo amore, poiché il cuore dei santi è stato ricreato per merito tuo, fratello.
8 Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,	8 Pertanto, benché possa liberamente comandarti in Cristo ciò che devi fare,
9 Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.	9 ti supplico piuttosto in nome dell'amore, io Paolo, vecchio e per di più, ora, prigioniero di Cristo Gesù,
10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:	10 ti supplico per il mio figlio, che ho generato nelle catene, Onesimo,
11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:	11 quegli che una volta non ti fu utile, ora invece è utile a te e a me.
12 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:	12 Te lo rimando, proprio lui, cioè il mio cuore.
13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:	13 Desideravo tenerlo con me, perché in tua vece servisse a me incatenato per il vangelo,
14 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.	14 ma non ho voluto decidere a tua insaputa, affinché la tua opera buona non sia imposta, ma spontanea.
15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;	15 Probabilmente ti è stato sottratto per un breve periodo di tempo, affinché poi tu lo potessi riavere per sempre,
16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?	16 non già come schiavo, ma più che schiavo, fratello a me carissimo e, a maggior ragione, a te secondo il mondo e secondo il Signore.
17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.	17 Se dunque mi ritieni tuo amico, accoglilo come fossi io stesso!
18 If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;	18 Se poi ti avesse danneggiato o ti deve qualche cosa, mettilo sul mio conto.
19 I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.	19 Io, Paolo, scrivo ciò di mio proprio pugno: pagherò io personalmente. Ma non ti dico che devi a me anche te stesso.
20 Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.	20 Sì, fratello! Che io possa servirmi di te nel Signore. Ricrea il mio cuore in Cristo.
21 Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.	21 Ti scrivo perché ho fiducia nella tua docilità, sapendo che farai più di quanto chiedo.
22 But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.	22 Preparami inoltre un alloggio, perché spero, grazie alle vostre preghiere, di esservi restituito.
23 There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;	23 Ti salutano Epafra, mio compagno di prigione in Cristo Gesù,
24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.	24 Marco, Aristarco, Dema, Luca, miei collaboratori.
25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.	25 La grazia del Signore Gesù Cristo sia col vostro spirito.
