Philemon 1

1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,	1 Pál, aki fogoly Krisztus Jézusért, valamint Timóteus testvér Filemonnak, szeretett munkatársunknak,
2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:	2 Appia nővérünknek, Archipposz küzdőtársunknak, és a házadban levő közösségnek.
3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	3 Kegyelem és békesség nektek Istentől, a mi Atyánktól, és az Úr Jézus Krisztustól!
4 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,	4 Hálát adok mindenkor Istenemnek, amikor megemlékezem rólad imádságaimban –
5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;	5 hiszen hallottam szeretetedről és hitedről, amellyel az Úr Jézus és az összes szent iránt viseltetsz –,
6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.	6 hogy a hitben való közösségünk nyilvánvalóvá váljék minden jócselekedet megismerése által, amely köztünk Krisztusban megvalósul.
7 For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.	7 Nagy örömöm telik és vigasztalódom szeretetedben, hogy felüdült a szentek szíve általad, Testvér!
8 Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,	8 Ezért, bár Krisztusba vetett nagy bizalmamnál fogva meg is parancsolhatnám neked azt, ami helyes,
9 Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.	9 a szeretetnél fogva azonban inkább kérlek én, amint vagyok, az öreg Pál, aki most fogoly is Krisztus Jézusért.
10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:	10 Fiamért, Onezimoszért könyörgök, akit bilincseimben nemzettem,
11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:	11 aki egykor haszontalan volt számodra, most azonban számodra is, számomra is hasznos.
12 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:	12 Visszaküldtem hozzád, mint a saját szívemet.
13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:	13 Szerettem volna magamnál tartani, hogy az evangéliumért szenvedett bilincseimben helyetted szolgáljon nekem,
14 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.	14 de elhatározásod nélkül semmit sem akartam tenni, hogy jótéteményed ne kényszerből, hanem önként szülessék.
15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;	15 Talán éppen azért távozott el tőled egy időre, hogy visszakapd őt mindörökre,
16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?	16 már nem mint rabszolgát, hanem rabszolgánál sokkal többet: mint szeretett testvért. Nekem nagyon is az ő, de mennyivel inkább neked: test szerint is, s az Úr szerint is.
17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.	17 Azért, ha társadnak tartasz, fogadd úgy, mint engem.
18 If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;	18 Ha pedig valamivel megkárosított vagy tartozik, nekem számítsd föl:
19 I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.	19 – én, Pál sajátkezűleg írom – én térítem meg. Bár – hadd ne mondjam neked – te önmagaddal is nekem tartozol.
20 Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.	20 Bizony, Testvér! Hasznodat akarom venni az Úrban, enyhítsd meg hát szívemet Krisztusban!
21 Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.	21 Engedelmességedben bízva írtam neked: tudom, te többet is fogsz tenni annál, amit kérek.
22 But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.	22 Ezenkívül készíts nekem szállást is; remélem ugyanis, hogy imádságaitokra ajándékul visszakaptok engem.
23 There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;	23 Köszönt téged Epafrász, fogolytársam Krisztus Jézusban,
24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.	24 valamint Márk, Arisztarchosz, Démász és Lukács, a munkatársaim.
25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.	25 Az Úr Jézus Krisztus kegyelme legyen lelketekkel!
