Philemon 1

1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,	1 Pablo, preso de Cristo Jesús, y Timoteo, el hermano, a nuestro querido amigo y colaborador Filemón,
2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:	2 a la hermana Apfia, a nuestro compañero de armas, Arquipo, y a la Iglesia de tu casa.
3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	3 Gracia y paz a vosotros de parte de Dios, nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo.
4 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,	4 Doy gracias sin cesar a mi Dios, recordándote en mis oraciones,
5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;	5 pues tengo noticia de tu caridad y de tu fe para con el Señor Jesús y para bien de todos los santos,
6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.	6 a fin de que tu participación en la fe se haga eficiente mediante el conocimiento perfecto de todo el bien que hay en nosotros en orden a Cristo.
7 For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.	7 Pues tuve gran alegría y consuelo a causa de tu caridad, por el alivio que los corazones de los santos han recibido de ti, hermano.
8 Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,	8 Por lo cual, aunque tengo en Cristo bastante libertad para mandarte lo que conviene,
9 Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.	9 prefiero más bien rogarte en nombre de la caridad, yo, este Pablo ya anciano, y además ahora preso de Cristo Jesús.
10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:	10 Te ruego en favor de mi hijo, a quien engendré entre cadenas, Onésimo,
11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:	11 que en otro tiempo te fue inútil, pero ahora muy útil para ti y para mí.
12 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:	12 Te lo devuelvo, a éste, mi propio corazón.
13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:	13 Yo querría retenerle conmigo, para que me sirviera en tu lugar, en estas cadenas por el Evangelio;
14 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.	14 mas, sin consultarte, no he querido hacer nada, para que esta buena acción tuya no fuera forzada sino voluntaria.
15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;	15 Pues tal vez fue alejado de ti por algún tiempo, precisamente para que lo recuperaras para siempre,
16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?	16 y no como esclavo, sino como algo mejor que un esclavo, como un hermano querido, que, siéndolo mucho para mí, ¡cuánto más lo será para ti, no sólo como amo, sino también en el Señor!.
17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.	17 Por tanto, si me tienes como algo unido a ti, acógele como a mí mismo.
18 If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;	18 Y si en algo te perjudicó, o algo te debe, ponlo a mi cuenta.
19 I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.	19 Yo mismo, Pablo, lo firmo con mi puño; yo te lo pagaré... Por no recordarte deudas para conmigo, pues tú mismo te me debes.
20 Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.	20 Sí, hermano, hazme este favor en el Señor. ¡Alivia mi corazón en Cristo!
21 Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.	21 Te escribo confiado en tu docilidad, seguro de que harás más de lo que te pido.
22 But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.	22 Y al mismo tiempo, prepárame hospedaje; pues espero que por vuestras oraciones se os concederá la gracia de mi presencia.
23 There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;	23 Te saludan Epafras, mi compañero de cautiverio en Cristo Jesús,
24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.	24 Marcos, Aristarco, Demas y Lucas, mis colaboradores.
25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.	25 Que la gracia del Señor Jesucristo sea con vuestro espíritu.
