1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.	1 Przysłowia Salomona. Mądry syn radością ojca, strapieniem matki syn głupi.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.	2 Bez pożytku są skarby źle nabyte, lecz sprawiedliwość wyrywa ze śmierci.
3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.	3 Prawego Pan nie zagłodzi, lecz odtrąci żądze nieprawych.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.	4 Ręka leniwa sprowadza ubóstwo, ręka zaś pilnych wzbogaca.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.	5 Syn to mądry, co w lecie gromadzi, a kto prześpi czas żniwa, hańbą okryty.
6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.	6 Błogosławieństwa na głowie prawego, w ustach nieprawych przemoc się kryje.
7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.	7 Pamięć o prawym jest błogosławiona, a imię nieprawych zaginie.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.	8 Mądry sercem przyjmie nakazy, upadnie, kto wargi ma nierozsądne.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.	9 Kto żyje uczciwie, żyje bezpiecznie, zdradzi się ten, kto szuka dróg krętych.
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.	10 Kto okiem mruga - sprawia cierpienie, upadnie, kto wargi ma nierozsądne.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.	11 Źródłem życia usta prawego, w ustach nieprawych przemoc się kryje.
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.	12 Nienawiść wznieca kłótnię, miłość wszelki błąd ukrywa.
13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.	13 Na wargach rozumnego jest mądrość, a kij - na grzbiecie tego, komu jej brak.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.	14 Mądrzy swą wiedzę gromadzą, usta głupiego grożą zniszczeniem.
15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.	15 Majętność bogacza jest mocną warownią, zagładą nędzarzy ich własne ubóstwo.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.	16 Zapłatą prawego jest życie, niegodziwiec zyskuje karę.
17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.	17 Kto strzeże karności, ten idzie ku życiu, kto gardzi upomnieniem - ku zatracie.
18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.	18 Usta nieprawe nienawiść ujawnią, głupi, kto rozgłasza niesławę.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.	19 Nie uniknie się grzechu w gadulstwie, kto ostrożny w języku - jest mądry.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.	20 Język prawego jest srebrem wybornym, a serce złych mało co warte.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.	21 Wargi sprawiedliwego prowadzą wielu, lecz głupcy umrą z nierozsądku.
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.	22 Błogosławieństwo Pańskie wzbogaca, własny trud niczego tutaj nie doda.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.	23 Radością głupiego - czyny haniebne, a męża rozważnego - mądrość.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.	24 Zło, którego się grzesznik boi, spadnie na niego, sprawiedliwi uzyskają to, czego pragną.
25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.	25 Gdy wicher zawieje - nie ma już grzesznika, lecz sprawiedliwego podstawy są wieczne.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.	26 Czym ocet dla zębów, a dym dla oczu, tym leniwy dla tych, którzy go wysłali.
27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.	27 Bojaźń Pańska dni pomnaża, krótkie są lata grzesznika.
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.	28 Oczekiwanie uczciwych - radością, nadzieja bezbożnych przepadnie.
29 The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.	29 Pan oparciem ludzi prawych, dla czyniących nieprawość jest zgubą.
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.	30 Sprawiedliwy nie runie na wieki, grzesznicy na ziemi nietrwali.
31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.	31 Niech mądrość wychodzi z ust prawych, język przewrotny będzie wyrwany.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.	32 Wargi prawe lubią, co [Bogu] miłe, a usta niewiernych - przewrotność.
