Proverbs 10

1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.	1 Il figlio saggio è la consolazione del padre, mentre il figlio stolto è l'afflizione della madre.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.	2 A nulla gioveranno i tesori male acquistati, ma la giustizia libera dalla morte.
3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.	3 Il Signore non lascerà deluse le brame del giusto, ma sventerà le insidie degli empi.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.	4 La mano pigra produce miseria, ma il braccio operoso accumula ricchezze. Chi s'appoggia a menzogne si pasce di vento, ed è come se corresse dietro a uccelli che volano.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.	5 Chi fa le sue provvisioni al tempo della messe è saggio figliolo; chi poltrisce nell'estate si fa disonore.
6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.	6 Sopra il capo elei giusti scendono le benedizioni del Signore, ma l'iniquità ricopre la faccia degli empi.
7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.	7 La memoria del giusto è benedetta, invece marcirà il nome degli empi.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.	8 L'uomo saggio accetta gli avvertimenti, ma lo stolto è flagellato dai labbri.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.	9 Chi procede con rettitudine va sicuro, ma chi prendo vie perverse sarà scoperto.
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.	10 Chi strizza l'occhio farà del male, e lo stolto sarà flagellato dalle labbra.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.	11 Sorgente di vita è la bocca del giusto, ma la bocca degli empi racchiude iniquità.
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.	12 L'odio eccita le contese: la carità ricopre tutti i peccati.
13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.	13 Sulle labbra del saggio si trova la sapienza, e la verga sul dorso di chi non ha giudizio.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.	14 I saggi nascondono il loro sapere, la bocca dello stolto è vicina alla confusione.
15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.	15 I beni del ricco sono la sua città forte, la paura dei poveri viene dalla loro miseria.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.	16 Il lavoro del giusto è per la vita, i guadagni dell'empio vanno nel peccato.
17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.	17 Chi tien conto della disciplina, è nella via della vita, chi non cura la correzione è fuori di strada.
18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.	18 Le labbra bugiarde nascondono l'odio, chi dice contumelie è un insensato.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.	19 Nel molto parlare non roancherà il peccato, ma chi sa frenare le sue labbra ha somma prudenza.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.	20 La lingua del giusto è come argento fino, ma il cuore degli empi non vai niente.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.	21 Le labbra del giusto istruiscono moltissimi; chi non ha ricevuto istruzione morirà por mancanza di giudizio.
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.	22 La benedizione di Dio è quella che fa ricchi, e non avrà per compagno l'afflizione.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.	23 Come per gioco lo stolto fa i delitti, ma la sapienza dell'uomo è la prudenza.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.	24 Cadrà addosso all'empio ciò che egli paventa; ai giusti sarà dato quello che desiderano.
25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.	25 Come tempesta che passa sparirà l'empio, ma il giusto resterà come base eterna.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.	26 Come l'aceto ai denti e il fumo agli occhi, cosi il pigro per quelli che lo hanno mandato.
27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.	27 Il timore del Signore allunga la vita, ma gli anni degli empi saranno accorciati.
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.	28 L'attesa dei giusti unirà nella gioia, ma la speranza degli empi andrà in fumo.
29 The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.	29 La via del Signore è la forza del semplice e lo spavento dei malfattori.
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.	30 Il giusto non vacillerà in eterno, ma gli empi non dimoreranno nel paese.
31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.	31 La bocca del giusto darà sapienza, la lingua dei malvagi sarà estirpata.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.	32 Le labbra del giusto considerano cose gradite, e la bocca degli empi le cose perverse.
