1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.	1 Proverbios de Salomón. El hijo sabio es la alegría de su padre, el hijo necio entristece a su madre.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.	2 Tesoros mal adquiridos no aprovechan, mas la justicia libra de la muerte.
3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.	3 Yahveh no permite que el justo pase hambre, pero rechaza la codicia de los malos.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.	4 Mano indolente empobrece, la mano de los diligentes enriquece.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.	5 Amontonar en verano es de hombre sensato, dormirse en la cosecha es de hombre indigno.
6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.	6 Bendiciones sobre la cabeza del justo; pero la boca de los impíos rezuma violencia.
7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.	7 El recuerdo del justo sirve de bendición; el nombre de los malos se pudre.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.	8 El sensato de corazón acepta los mandatos, el hombre charlatán corre a su ruina.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.	9 Quien va a derecho, va seguro, quien va con rodeos es descubierto.
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.	10 El que guiña de ojos, dará disgustos, quien reprende a la cara, proporciona paz.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.	11 Manantial de vida la boca del justo; la boca de los impíos rezuma violencia.
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.	12 El odio provoca discusiones, el amor cubre todas las faltas.
13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.	13 En labios del inteligente se encuentra sabiduría, palo a las espaldas del falto de seso.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.	14 Los sabios atesoran conocimiento, la boca del necio es ruina immediata.
15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.	15 La fortuna del rico es su plaza fuerte, la ruina de los débiles es su pobreza.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.	16 El salario del justo es para vivir, la renta del malo es para pecar.
17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.	17 Camina hacia la vida el que guarda las instrucciones; quien desatiende la reprensión se extravía.
18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.	18 Los labios mentirosos disimulan el odio; quien profiere una calumnia es un necio.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.	19 En las muchas palabras no faltará pecado; quien reprime sus labios es sensato.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.	20 Plata elegida es la lengua del justo, el corazón de los malos vale poco.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.	21 Los labios del justo apacientan a muchos, los insensatos mueren en su falta de seso.
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.	22 La bendición de Yahveh es la que enriquece, y nada le añade el trabajo a que obliga.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.	23 Como un juego es para el necio cometer el crimen, la sabiduría lo es para el hombre inteligente.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.	24 Lo que teme el malo, eso le sucede, lo que el justo desea, se le da.
25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.	25 Cuando pasa la tormenta, ya no existe el malo, mas el justo es construcción eterna.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.	26 Vinagre para los dientes y humo para los ojos: así es el perezoso para quien lo envía.
27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.	27 El temor de Yahveh prolonga los días, los años de los malos son acortados.
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.	28 La espera de los justos es alegría, la esperanza de los malos fracasará.
29 The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.	29 Fortaleza es para el íntegro la senda de Yahveh; pero ruina para los malhechores.
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.	30 Jamás el justo será conmovido, pero los malos no habitarán la tierra.
31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.	31 La boca del justo da frutos de sabiduría, la lengua perversa será cortada.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.	32 Los labios del justo saben de benevolencia; la boca de los malos, de perversidad.
