Proverbs 10

1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.	1 Proverbios de Salomón. Un hijo sabio es la alegría de su padre, pero un hijo necio es la aflicción de su madre.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.	2 Tesoros mal adquiridos no sirven de nada, pero la justicia libra de la muerte.
3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.	3 El Señor no deja que el justo sufra hambre, pero rechaza la avidez de los malvados.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.	4 La mano indolente empobrece, pero el brazo laborioso enriquece.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.	5 El que junta en verano es un hombre precavido, el que duerme en la cosecha es despreciable.
6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.	6 Las bendiciones descienden sobre el justo, la boca de los malvados encubre la violencia.
7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.	7 La memoria del justo es bendecida, pero el nombre de los malvados se pudrirá.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.	8 El de corazón sabio acepta los mandamientos, pero el de labios necios va a la perdición.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.	9 El que camina con integridad camina seguro, el que sigue caminos tortuosos será descubierto.
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.	10 El que guiña el ojo hace sufrir, el que reprende con franqueza da tranquilidad.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.	11 La boca del justo es una fuente de vida, pero la de los malvados encubre la violencia.
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.	12 El odio provoca altercados, pero el amor cubre todas las faltas.
13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.	13 En labios del inteligente se encuentra la sabiduría, y la vara es para las espaldas del insensato.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.	14 Los sabios atesoran la ciencia, pero la boca del necio es una ruina inminente.
15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.	15 La fortuna del rico es su plaza fuerte, la pobreza de los débiles es su ruina.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.	16 El salario del justo lleva a la vida, la renta del impío, al pecado.
17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.	17 El que respeta la instrucción camina hacia la vida, pero el que rechaza la reprensión se extravía.
18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.	18 El que disimula su odio tiene labios mentirosos, y el que levanta una calumnia es un necio.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.	19 Donde abundan las palabras nunca falta el pecado, el que refrena sus labios es un hombre precavido.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.	20 Plata acrisolada es la lengua del justo, el corazón de los malvados no vale gran cosa.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.	21 Los labios del justo sustentan a muchos, pero los necios mueren por falta de sensatez.
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.	22 La bendición del Señor es la que enriquece, y nada le añade nuestro esfuerzo.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.	23 Cometer una infamia es una diversión para el insensato, y lo mismo es la sabiduría para el hombre inteligente.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.	24 Al malvado le sucederá lo que teme, y a los justos se les dará lo que desean.
25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.	25 Pasa la tormenta, y ya no existe el malvado, pero el justo tiene cimientos eternos.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.	26 Como vinagre para los dientes y humo para los ojos, así es el perezoso para el que le da un encargo.
27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.	27 El temor del Señor acrecienta los días, pero los años de los malvados serán acortados.
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.	28 La esperanza de los justos es alegre, pero la expectativa de los malvados se desvanecerá.
29 The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.	29 El camino del Señor es refugio para el hombre íntegro y ruina para los que hacen el mal.
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.	30 El justo no vacilará jamás, pero los malvados no habitarán la tierra.
31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.	31 De la boca del justo brota la sabiduría, pero la lengua perversa será extirpada.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.	32 Los labios del justo destilan benevolencia, y la boca de los malvados, perversidad.
