KING JAMES BIBLE | NOVA VULGATA |
---|---|
LORD, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. | 1 Precatio. Moysis viri Dei. Domine, refugium factus es nobis a generatione in generationem. |
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. | 2 Priusquam montes nascerentur, aut gigneretur terra et orbis, a saeculo et usque in saeculum tu es Deus. |
Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men. | 3 Reducis hominem in pulverem; et dixisti: “ Revertimini, filii hominum ”. |
For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. | 4 Quoniam mille anni ante oculos tuos tamquam dies hesterna, quae praeteriit, et custodia in nocte. |
Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. | 5 Auferes eos, somnium erunt: |
In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. | 6 mane sicut herba succrescens, mane floret et crescit, vespere decidit et arescit. |
For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled. | 7 Quia defecimus in ira tua et in furore tuo turbati sumus. |
Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. | 8 Posuisti iniquitates nostras in conspectu tuo, occulta nostra in illuminatione vultus tui. |
For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. | 9 Quoniam omnes dies nostri evanuerunt in ira tua, consumpsimus ut suspirium annos nostros. |
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. | 10 Dies annorum nostrorum sunt septuaginta anni aut in valentibus octoginta anni, et maior pars eorum labor et dolor, quoniam cito transeunt, et avolamus. |
Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. | 11 Quis novit potestatem irae tuae et secundum timorem tuum indignationem tuam? |
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. | 12 Dinumerare dies nostros sic doce nos, ut inducamus cor ad sapientiam. |
Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants. | 13 Convertere, Domine, usquequo? Et deprecabilis esto super servos tuos. |
O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. | 14 Reple nos mane misericordia tua, et exsultabimus et delectabimur omnibus diebus nostris. |
Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. | 15 Laetifica nos pro diebus, quibus nos humiliasti, pro annis, quibus vidimus mala. |
Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. | 16 Appareat servis tuis opus tuum, et decor tuus filiis eorum. |
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it. | 17 Et sit splendor Domini Dei nostri super nos, et opera manuum nostrarum confirma super nos et opus manuum nostrarum confirma. |
