1 Das Wort, das der Prophet Jeremia zu Baruch, dem Sohn Nerijas, sagte, als dieser im vierten Jahr Jojakims, des Sohnes Joschijas, des Königs von Juda, jene Reden nach dem Diktat Jeremias in ein Buch schrieb:	1 This is the message that the prophet Jeremiah gave to Baruch, son of Neriah, when he wrote in a book the prophecies that Jeremiah dictated in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah:
2 So spricht der Herr, der Gott Israels, über dich, Baruch:	2 Thus says the LORD, God of Israel, to you, Baruch,
3 Du hast gesagt: Weh mir! Denn der Herr häuft noch Kummer auf mein Leid. Ich bin erschöpft vor Stöhnen und finde keine Ruhe.	3 because you said, "Alas! the LORD adds grief to my pain; I am weary from groaning, and can find no rest":
4 Sag zu ihm: So spricht der Herr: Was ich gebaut habe, breche ich nieder, und was ich gepflanzt habe, reiße ich aus. [Das betrifft das ganze Land]	4 say this to him, says the LORD: What I have built, I am tearing down; what I have planted, I am uprooting: even the whole land.
5 Du aber begehrst Großes für dich? Begehre es nicht! Denn siehe, ich bringe Unheil über alle Sterblichen - Spruch des Herrn; dir aber gebe ich dein Leben wie ein Beutestück überall, wohin du auch gehst.	5 And do you seek great things for yourself? Seek them not! I am bringing evil on all mankind, says the LORD, but your life I will leave you as booty, wherever you may go.
