Jeremia 25

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Das Wort über das ganze Volk von Juda, das an Jeremia erging im vierten Jahr Jojakims, des Sohnes Joschijas, des Königs von Juda; es war das erste Jahr Nebukadnezzars, des Königs von Babel.	1 The word that was addressed to Jeremiah about al the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakimson of Josiah, king of Judah (that is to say the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon).
2 Der Prophet Jeremia richtete es an das ganze Volk von Juda und an alle Einwohner Jerusalems; er sagte:	2 The prophet Jeremiah proclaimed it before al the people of Judah and al the inhabitants of Jerusalem:
3 Seit dem dreizehnten Jahr Joschijas, des Sohnes Amons, des Königs von Juda, bis zum heutigen Tag, also dreiundzwanzig Jahre lang, ist an mich das Wort des Herrn ergangen und ich habe es euch unermüdlich weitergegeben. [Ihr aber habt nicht gehört.	3 'For twenty-three years, from the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah, until today, theword of Yahweh has been addressed to me and I have never tired of speaking to you (but you have not listened.
4 Der Herr hat immer wieder alle seine Knechte, die Propheten, zu euch gesandt. Ihr aber habt nicht gehört und euer Ohr nicht geneigt, um zu hören.]	4 Furthermore, Yahweh has untiringly sent you al his servants the prophets, but you have not listened orpaid attention).
5 Ich sagte: Kehrt doch alle um von eurem schlechten Weg und von euren bösen Taten; dann dürft ihr in dem Land bleiben, das der Herr euch und euren Vätern gegeben hat seit jeher und für immer.	5 The message was this, "Turn back, each one of you, from your evil behaviour and your evil actions,and you wil go on living on the soil Yahweh long ago gave to you and your ancestors for ever.
6 [Lauft nicht anderen Göttern nach, um ihnen zu dienen und sie anzubeten, und erzürnt mich nicht durch das Werk eurer Hände, damit ich euch nicht Schlimmes antun muss.]	6 (And do not fol ow other gods to serve and worship them, do not provoke me with things youyourselves have made, and then I shall not harm you.)
7 Aber ihr habt nicht auf mich gehört [- Spruch des Herrn -, um mich zu erzürnen durch das Werk eurer Hände, zu eurem eigenen Schaden].	7 But you have not listened to me (Yahweh declares, so that you have now provoked me with things youyourselves have made, and thus harmed yourselves)."
8 Darum - so spricht der Herr der Heere: Weil ihr auf meine Worte nicht gehört habt,	8 'So-this is what Yahweh Sabaoth says, "Since you have not listened to my words,
9 darum hole ich alle Stämme des Nordens herbei - Spruch des Herrn -, auch Nebukadnezzar, den König von Babel, meinen Knecht. Ich lasse sie über dieses Land und seine Bewohner kommen und über alle diese Völker ringsum. Ich weihe sie dem Untergang und mache sie zu einem Bild des Entsetzens, zum Gespött und zur dauernden Schmach.	9 I shal now send for al the families of the north (Yahweh declares, that is, for Nebuchadnezzar king ofBabylon, my servant) and bring them down on this country and its inhabitants (and on al these surroundingnations); I shal curse them with utter destruction and make them an object of horror, of scorn, and ruin them for ever.
10 Ich lasse bei ihnen aufhören den Jubelruf und den Freudenruf, den Ruf des Bräutigams und den Ruf der Braut, das Geräusch der Handmühle und das Licht der Lampe.	10 From them I shall banish the shouts of rejoicing and mirth, the voices of bridegroom and bride, thesound of the handmil and the light of the lamp;
11 Dieses ganze Land wird zum Trümmerfeld und zu einem Bild des Entsetzens und diese Völker werden dem König von Babel siebzig Jahre lang dienen.	11 and this whole country will be reduced to ruin and desolation, and these nations will be enslaved tothe king of Babylon for seventy years.
12 Sind aber die siebzig Jahre vorüber, dann ziehe ich den König von Babel und jenes Volk zur Rechenschaft für ihre Schuld - Spruch des Herrn - und auch das Land der Chaldäer, indem ich es für immer zur schaurigen Wüste mache.	12 (But when the seventy years are over, I shall punish the king of Babylon and that nation, Yahwehdeclares, for the wrong they have done, that is, the country of the Chaldaeans, and make it desolate for ever),
13 Ich lasse über jenes Land all das kommen, was ich ihm angedroht habe, alles, was in diesem Buch aufgezeichnet ist [was Jeremia über alle Völker geweissagt hat].	13 and against that country I shal perform al the words with which I have threatened it, that is,everything written in this book." '
14 Denn auch sie werden mächtigen Völkern und großen Königen dienen müssen. So vergelte ich ihnen entsprechend ihren Taten und dem Tun ihrer Hände.	14 What Jeremiah prophesied against al the nations. ('For these in their turn are to be enslaved topowerful nations and great kings, and I shal pay them back as their deeds and handiwork deserve.')
15 Ja, so hat der Herr, der Gott Israels, zu mir gesprochen: Nimm diesen Becher voll Zornwein aus meiner Hand und gib ihn allen Völkern zu trinken, zu denen ich dich sende.	15 For Yahweh, the God of Israel, said this to me, 'Take this cup of the wine of wrath and make al thenations to whom I send you drink it;
16 Trinken sollen sie, taumeln und torkeln vor dem Schwert, das ich unter sie schicke.	16 they wil drink and reel and lose their wits, because of the sword I am sending among them.'
17 Da nahm ich den Becher aus der Hand des Herrn und ließ alle Völker trinken, zu denen der Herr mich sandte:	17 I took the cup from Yahweh's hand and made al the nations to whom Yahweh sent me drink it
18 Jerusalem und die Städte Judas - samt seinen Königen und Fürsten -, um sie zu Trümmerhaufen zu machen, zu einem Bild des Entsetzens, zum Gespött und zum Fluch [wie es heute ist],	18 (Jerusalem and the towns of Judah, its kings and its chief men, to make them a ruin, an object ofhorror and derision and a curse, as is the case today):
19 den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, samt seinen Höflingen und Fürsten und seinem ganzen Volk,	19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, his officials, his chief men and al his people,
20 das gesamte Völkergemisch, alle Könige des Landes Uz, alle Könige des Philisterlandes, (die Städte) Aschkelon, Gaza, Ekron und den Rest von Aschdod,	20 with the whole conglomeration of peoples there (al the kings of the country of Uz); al the kings of thecountry of the Philistines, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron and what is stil left of Ashdod;
21 Edom, Moab und die Ammoniter,	21 Edom, Moab and the Ammonites;
22 alle Könige von Tyrus, alle Könige von Sidon sowie die Könige der Inseln jenseits des Meeres,	22 (all) the kings of Tyre, (all) the kings of Sidon, the kings of the island across the sea;
23 Dedan, Tema, Bus und alle mit gestutztem Haar,	23 Dedan, Tema, Buz, al the people with shaven temples;
24 alle Könige Arabiens und alle Könige des Völkergemisches, die in der Wüste wohnen,	24 al the kings of Arabia (and all the kings of the conglomeration of peoples) who live in the desert
25 alle Könige von Simri, von Elam und Medien,	25 (all the kings of Zimri), all the kings of Elam, and al the kings of Media;
26 auch alle Könige des Nordens, die in der Nähe und die in der Ferne, einen nach dem andern, ja, alle Reiche [der Welt], die es auf der Erde gibt; und zuletzt soll der König von Scheschach trinken.	26 al the kings of the north, near and far, one after another: in short, all the kingdoms on the face of theearth. (As for the king of Sheshak, he wil drink last of all.)
27 Sag zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr der Heere, der Gott Israels: Trinkt, berauscht euch und speit, stürzt hin und steht nicht mehr auf vor dem Schwert, das ich unter euch schicke.	27 'You wil say to them, "Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this: Drink! Get drunk! Vomit! Fall,never to rise again, before the sword that I am sending among you!"
28 Weigern sie sich aber, den Becher aus deiner Hand anzunehmen und zu trinken, dann sag zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr der Heere: Trinken müsst ihr.	28 If they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink, you wil say to them, "Yahweh Sabaoth saysthis: You must drink!
29 Denn seht, bei der Stadt, über der mein Name ausgerufen ist, beginne ich mit dem Unheil und da solltet ihr ungestraft bleiben? Nein, ihr werdet nicht ungestraft bleiben; denn ich rufe das Schwert gegen alle Bewohner der Erde - Spruch des Herrn der Heere.	29 Look, for a start, I am bringing disaster on the city that bears my name, so are you likely to gounpunished? You certainly wil not go unpunished, for next I shal summon a sword against al the inhabitants ofthe land, Yahweh declares."
30 Du aber sollst ihnen als Prophet alle diese Worte verkünden und zu ihnen sagen: Aus der Höhe herab donnert der Herr, von seiner heiligen Wohnung her lässt er seine Stimme erschallen. Mächtig donnert er über seiner Flur und ruft wie die Keltertreter.	30 'For your part, you are to prophesy al these words to them. Say to them: "Yahweh roars from on high,he thunders from his holy dwel ing-place, loudly he roars at his own fold, shouts aloud like those who tread thegrape at all the inhabitants of the land.
31 Zu allen Erdbewohnern dringt der Schall, ja bis ans Ende der Erde; denn der Herr hat einen Rechtsstreit mit den Völkern: Er hält Gericht über alle Sterblichen und liefert die Schuldigen dem Schwert aus - Spruch des Herrn.	31 The noise resounds to the remotest parts of the earth. For Yahweh is indicting the nations, arraigningal humanity for judgement; the wicked he assigns to the sword, Yahweh declares.
32 So spricht der Herr der Heere: Seht, Unheil schreitet von Volk zu Volk, ein gewaltiger Sturm bricht los von den Grenzen der Erde.	32 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Look, disaster is spreading from nation to nation, a mighty tempest isrising from the far ends of the earth.
33 Die vom Herrn Erschlagenen liegen an jenem Tag von einem Ende der Erde bis zum andern. Man beklagt sie nicht, man sammelt sie nicht und begräbt sie nicht; sie werden zum Dünger auf dem Acker.	33 "Those slaughtered by Yahweh that day wil be scattered across the world from end to end. No dirgewil be raised for them; no one wil gather them or bury them; they will stay lying on the surface like dung.
34 Klagt, ihr Hirten, und schreit; wälzt euch im Staub, ihr Herren der Herde! Denn die Zeit ist gekommen, dass ihr geschlachtet werdet; ich zerschmettere euch, dass ihr berstet wie ein Prunkgefäß.	34 "Howl, shepherds, shriek, roll on the ground, you lords of the flock, for your days have come to beslaughtered and to be scattered, and like a choice vase you will fal .
35 Es gibt keine Flucht mehr für die Hirten, kein Entrinnen für die Herren der Herde.	35 No refuge then for the shepherds, no escape for the lords of the flock!
36 Horcht, wie die Hirten schreien und die Herren der Herde wehklagen, weil der Herr ihre Weide verwüstet.	36 Listen! A shriek from the shepherds, a howl from the lords of the flock! For Yahweh has laid theirpasture waste,
37 Verdorrt sind die friedlichen Wiesen vor dem glühenden Zorn des Herrn.	37 the peaceful sheepfolds are reduced to silence owing to Yahweh's furious anger.
38 Er verlässt sein Versteck wie ein Löwe; ihr Land ist zu einem Bild des Entsetzens geworden durch sein rasendes Schwert und durch die Glut seines Zorns.	38 The lion has left his lair and their country is a wasteland now, owing to the devastating fury, owing tohis furious anger." '
