Proverbios 9

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 La Sabiduría edificó su casa, talló sus siete columnas,	1 Wisdom has built herself a house, she has hewn her seven pil ars,
2 inmoló sus víctimas, mezcló su vino, y también preparó su mesa.	2 she has slaughtered her beasts, drawn her wine, she has laid her table.
3 Ella envió a sus servidoras a proclamar sobre los sitios más altos de la ciudad:	3 She has despatched her maidservants and proclaimed from the heights above the city,
4 «El que sea incauto, que venga aquí». Y al falto de entendimiento, le dice:	4 'Who is simple? Let him come this way.' To the fool she says,
5 «Vengan, coman de mi pan, y beban del vino que yo mezclé.	5 'Come and eat my bread, drink the wine which I have drawn!
6 Abandonen la ingenuidad, y vivirán, y sigan derecho por el camino de la inteligencia».	6 Leave foolishness behind and you wil live, go forwards in the ways of perception.'
7 El que corrige a un insolente se atrae la ignominia, y el que reprende a un malvado, el deshonor,	7 Reprove a mocker and you attract contempt, rebuke the wicked and you attract dishonour.
8 No reprendas a un insolente, no sea que te odie; reprende a un sabio, y te amará,	8 Do not rebuke the mocker, he wil hate you. Rebuke the wise and he wil love you for it.
9 Da al sabio y se hará más sabio aún, instruye al justo y ganará en saber.	9 Be open with the wise, he grows wiser stil , teach the upright, he wil gain yet more.
10 El comienzo de la sabiduría es el temor del Señor, y la ciencia del Santo es la inteligencia.	10 The first principle of wisdom is the fear of Yahweh, What God's holy ones know -- this isunderstanding.
11 Porque tus días se multiplicarán gracias a mí y se añadirán años a tu vida.	11 For by me your days wil be multiplied, and your years of life increased.
12 Si eres sabio, lo eres para ti, si eres insolente, tú solo lo sufrirás.	12 Are you wise? You are wise to your own good. A mocker? The burden is yours alone.
13 La señora Necedad es turbulenta, es estúpida y no sabe nada.	13 A silly woman acts on impulse, is foolish and knows nothing.
14 Ella se sienta a la puerta de su casa, en una silla, sobre las alturas de la ciudad,	14 She sits at the door of her house, on a throne high up in the city,
15 para gritar a los transeúntes que van derecho por el camino:	15 cal ing to the passers-by, who are walking straight past on their way,
16 «El que sea incauto, que venga aquí». Y al falto de entendimiento, le dice:	16 'Who is simple? Turn aside, come over here.' To the fool she says,
17 «¡Las aguas robadas son dulces y el pan quitado a escondidas, delicioso!».	17 'Stolen waters are sweet, and bread tastes better when eaten in secret.'
18 Pero él no sabe que allí están las Sombras, y sus invitados, en las profundidades del Abismo.	18 But the fool does not know that this is where the Shades are and that her guests are already in thevales of Sheol.
