Salmos 105

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 ¡Den gracias al Señor, invoquen su Nombre, hagan conocer entre los pueblos sus proezas;	1 Al eluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, cal on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!
2 canten al Señor con instrumentos musicales, pregonen todas sus maravillas!	2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!
3 ¡Gloríense en su santo Nombre, alégrense los que buscan al Señor!	3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!
4 ¡Recurran al Señor y a su poder, busquen constantemente su rostro;	4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!
5 recuerden las maravillas que él obró, sus portentos y los juicios de su boca!	5 Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.
6 Descendientes de Abraham, su servidor, hijos de Jacob, su elegido:	6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!
7 el Señor es nuestro Dios, en toda la tierra rigen sus decretos.	7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.
8 El se acuerda eternamente de su alianza, de la palabra que dio por mil generaciones,	8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,
9 del pacto que selló con Abraham, del juramento que hizo a Isaac:	9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
10 él lo confirmó como norma para Jacob, como alianza eterna para Israel,	10 He established it as a statute for Jacob, an everlasting covenant with Israel,
11 cuando dijo: «Yo te daré la tierra de Canaán, como porción hereditaria de todos ustedes».	11 saying, 'To you I give a land, Canaan, your allotted birthright.'
12 Cuando formaban un grupo muy pequeño y eran extranjeros en aquellas regiones;	12 When they were insignificant in numbers, a handful of strangers in the land,
13 cuando iban de nación en nación y pasaban de un reino a otro pueblo,	13 wandering from country to country, from one kingdom and nation to another,
14 no toleró que nadie los oprimiera, y castigó a reyes, por amor a ellos:	14 he al owed no one to oppress them; for their sake he instructed kings,
15 «No toquen a mis ungidos ni maltraten a mis profetas».	15 'Do not touch my anointed ones, to my prophets you may do no harm.'
16 El provocó una gran sequía en el país y agotó las provisiones,	16 He cal ed down famine on the land, he took away their food supply;
17 Pero antes envió a un hombre, a José, que fue vendido como esclavo:	17 he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.
18 le ataron los pies con grillos y el hierro oprimió su garganta,	18 So his feet were weighed down with shackles, his neck was put in irons.
19 hasta que se cumplió lo que él predijo, y la palabra del Señor lo acreditó.	19 In due time his prophecy was fulfilled, the word of Yahweh proved him true.
20 el rey ordenó que lo soltaran, el soberano de pueblos lo puso en libertad;	20 The king sent orders to release him, the ruler of nations set him free;
21 lo nombró señor de su palacio y administrador de todos sus bienes,	21 he put him in charge of his household, the ruler of al he possessed,
22 con pleno poder para instruir a los príncipes y enseñar sabiduría a los ancianos.	22 to instruct his princes as he saw fit, to teach his counsel ors wisdom.
23 Entonces Israel entró en Egipto, Jacob residió en la tierra de Cam,	23 Then Israel migrated to Egypt, Jacob settled in the country of Ham.
24 El Señor hizo a su pueblo muy fecundo, más fuerte que sus mismos opresores;	24 He made his people increase in numbers, he gave them more strength than their enemies,
25 cambió el corazón de los egipcios, para que sintieran odio por su pueblo y trataran con perfidia a sus servidores.	25 whose heart he turned to hate his own people, to double-cross his servants.
26 Luego envió a Moisés, su servidor, y a Aarón, que era su elegido;	26 He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, the man of his choice.
27 por su intermedio realizó prodigios, hizo portentos en la tierra de Cam:	27 They worked there the wonders he commanded, marvels in the country of Ham.
28 atrajo las tinieblas, y hubo oscuridad, pero ellos rechazaron sus palabras.	28 Darkness he sent, and darkness fel , but that nation defied his orders.
29 Transformó sus aguas en sangre e hizo morir a sus peces;	29 He turned their rivers to blood, and kil ed al the fish in them.
30 el país quedó cubierto de ranas, hasta en los aposentos del rey;	30 Their country was overrun with frogs, even in the royal apartments;
31 dio una orden y vinieron los insectos, los mosquitos invadieron el país.	31 at his word came flies, and mosquitoes throughout the country.
32 Les mandó granizo en vez de lluvia, y cayeron llamaradas en su tierra;	32 He gave them hail as their rain, flames of fire in their land;
33 abatió sus higueras y viñedos, y destrozó los árboles en sus campos;	33 he blasted their vine and their fig tree, and shattered the trees of the country.
34 dio una orden, y vinieron langostas y pulgones en número incontable	34 At his word came locusts, hoppers beyond al counting;
35 que comieron toda la hierba del campo y devoraron los frutos de la tierra.	35 they devoured every green thing in the land, devoured al the produce of the soil.
36 Hirió de muerte a los primogénitos del aquel país, a las primicias de todo ser viviente;	36 He struck al the first-born in their land, the flower of all their manhood;
37 sacó a su pueblo cargado de oro y plata, y nadie desfalleció entre sus tribus:	37 he led Israel out with silver and gold; in their tribes there was none who stumbled.
38 los egipcios se alegraron de su partida, porque los había dominado el terror.	38 Egypt was glad at their leaving, for terror of Israel had seized them.
39 Tendió una nube para que los cubriera, y envió un fuego para alumbrarlos de noche;	39 He spread out a cloud to cover them, and fire to light up the night.
40 pidieron de comer y les mandó codornices, los sació con pan del cielo;	40 They asked and he brought them quails, food from heaven to their hearts' content;
41 abrió la roca, brotaron las aguas y corrieron como un río por el desierto.	41 he opened a rock, the waters gushed out, and flowed in dry ground as a river.
42 El se acordó de la palabra sagrada, que había dado a Abraham, su servidor,	42 Faithful to his sacred promise, given to his servant Abraham,
43 e hizo salir a su pueblo con alegría, a sus elegidos, entre cantos de triunfo;	43 he led out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy.
44 les dio las tierras de los paganos, y ellos heredaron las riquezas de los pueblos,	44 He gave them the territories of nations, they reaped the fruit of other people's labours,
45 a fin de observar sus mandamientos y cumplir fielmente sus leyes. ¡Aleluya!	45 on condition that they kept his statutes, and remained obedient to his laws.
