Salmos 105

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 ¡Den gracias al Señor, invoquen su Nombre, hagan conocer entre los pueblos sus proezas;	1 Alleluia. Give glory to the Lord, and call upon his name: declare his deeds among the Gentiles.
2 canten al Señor con instrumentos musicales, pregonen todas sus maravillas!	2 Sing to him, yea sing praises to him: relate all his wondrous works.
3 ¡Gloríense en su santo Nombre, alégrense los que buscan al Señor!	3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
4 ¡Recurran al Señor y a su poder, busquen constantemente su rostro;	4 Seek ye the Lord, and be strengthened: seek his face evermore.
5 recuerden las maravillas que él obró, sus portentos y los juicios de su boca!	5 Remember his marvellous works which he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth.
6 Descendientes de Abraham, su servidor, hijos de Jacob, su elegido:	6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant; ye sons of Jacob his chosen.
7 el Señor es nuestro Dios, en toda la tierra rigen sus decretos.	7 He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
8 El se acuerda eternamente de su alianza, de la palabra que dio por mil generaciones,	8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever: the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
9 del pacto que selló con Abraham, del juramento que hizo a Isaac:	9 Which he made to Abraham; and his oath to Isaac:
10 él lo confirmó como norma para Jacob, como alianza eterna para Israel,	10 And he appointed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting testament:
11 cuando dijo: «Yo te daré la tierra de Canaán, como porción hereditaria de todos ustedes».	11 Saying: To thee will I give the land of Chanaan, the lot of your inheritance.
12 Cuando formaban un grupo muy pequeño y eran extranjeros en aquellas regiones;	12 When they were but a small number: yea very few, and sojourners therein:
13 cuando iban de nación en nación y pasaban de un reino a otro pueblo,	13 And they passed from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people.
14 no toleró que nadie los oprimiera, y castigó a reyes, por amor a ellos:	14 He suffered no man to hurt them: and he reproved kings for their sakes.
15 «No toquen a mis ungidos ni maltraten a mis profetas».	15 Touch ye not my anointed: and do no evil to my prophets.
16 El provocó una gran sequía en el país y agotó las provisiones,	16 And he called a famine upon the land: and he broke in pieces all the support of bread.
17 Pero antes envió a un hombre, a José, que fue vendido como esclavo:	17 He sent a man before them: Joseph, who was sold for a slave.
18 le ataron los pies con grillos y el hierro oprimió su garganta,	18 They humbled his feet in fetters: the iron pierced his soul,
19 hasta que se cumplió lo que él predijo, y la palabra del Señor lo acreditó.	19 until his word came. The word of the Lord inflamed him.
20 el rey ordenó que lo soltaran, el soberano de pueblos lo puso en libertad;	20 The king sent, and he released him: the ruler of the people, and he set him at liberty.
21 lo nombró señor de su palacio y administrador de todos sus bienes,	21 He made him master of his house, and ruler of all his possession.
22 con pleno poder para instruir a los príncipes y enseñar sabiduría a los ancianos.	22 That he might instruct his princes as himself, and teach his ancients wisdom.
23 Entonces Israel entró en Egipto, Jacob residió en la tierra de Cam,	23 And Israel went into Egypt: and Jacob was a sojourner in the land of Cham.
24 El Señor hizo a su pueblo muy fecundo, más fuerte que sus mismos opresores;	24 And he increased his people exceedingly: and strengthened them over their enemies,
25 cambió el corazón de los egipcios, para que sintieran odio por su pueblo y trataran con perfidia a sus servidores.	25 He turned their heart to hate his people: and to deal deceitfully with his servants.
26 Luego envió a Moisés, su servidor, y a Aarón, que era su elegido;	26 He sent Moses his servant: Aaron the man whom he had chosen.
27 por su intermedio realizó prodigios, hizo portentos en la tierra de Cam:	27 He gave them power to shew his signs, and his wonders in the land of Cham.
28 atrajo las tinieblas, y hubo oscuridad, pero ellos rechazaron sus palabras.	28 He sent darkness, and made it obscure: and grieved not his words.
29 Transformó sus aguas en sangre e hizo morir a sus peces;	29 He turned their waters into blood, and destroyed their fish.
30 el país quedó cubierto de ranas, hasta en los aposentos del rey;	30 Their land brought forth frogs, in the inner chambers of their kings.
31 dio una orden y vinieron los insectos, los mosquitos invadieron el país.	31 He spoke, and there came divers sorts of flies and sciniphs in all their coasts.
32 Les mandó granizo en vez de lluvia, y cayeron llamaradas en su tierra;	32 He gave them hail for rain, a burning fire in the land.
33 abatió sus higueras y viñedos, y destrozó los árboles en sus campos;	33 And he destroyed their vineyards and their fig trees: and he broke in pieces the trees of their coasts.
34 dio una orden, y vinieron langostas y pulgones en número incontable	34 He spoke, and the locust came, and the bruchus, of which there was no number.
35 que comieron toda la hierba del campo y devoraron los frutos de la tierra.	35 And they devoured all the grass in their land, and consumed all the fruit of their ground.
36 Hirió de muerte a los primogénitos del aquel país, a las primicias de todo ser viviente;	36 And he slew all the firstborn in their land: the firstfruits of all their labour.
37 sacó a su pueblo cargado de oro y plata, y nadie desfalleció entre sus tribus:	37 And he brought them out with silver and gold: and there was not among their tribes one that was feeble.
38 los egipcios se alegraron de su partida, porque los había dominado el terror.	38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them lay upon them.
39 Tendió una nube para que los cubriera, y envió un fuego para alumbrarlos de noche;	39 He spread a cloud for their protection, and fire to give them light in the night.
40 pidieron de comer y les mandó codornices, los sació con pan del cielo;	40 They asked, and the quail came: and he filled them with the bread of heaven.
41 abrió la roca, brotaron las aguas y corrieron como un río por el desierto.	41 He opened the rock, and waters flowed: rivers ran down in the dry land.
42 El se acordó de la palabra sagrada, que había dado a Abraham, su servidor,	42 Because he remembered his holy word, which he had spoken to his servant Abraham.
43 e hizo salir a su pueblo con alegría, a sus elegidos, entre cantos de triunfo;	43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness.
44 les dio las tierras de los paganos, y ellos heredaron las riquezas de los pueblos,	44 And he gave them the lands of the Gentiles: and they possessed the labours of the people:
45 a fin de observar sus mandamientos y cumplir fielmente sus leyes. ¡Aleluya!	45 That they might observe his justifications, and seek after his law.
