BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Ogni sommo sacerdote, preso fra gli uomini, viene costituito per il bene degli uomini nelle cose che riguardano Dio, per offrire doni e sacrifici per i peccati.	1 Every high priest is taken from among human beings and is appointed to act on their behalf inrelationships with God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins;
2 In tal modo egli è in grado di sentire giusta compassione per quelli che sono nell'ignoranza e nell'errore, essendo anch'egli rivestito di debolezza;	2 he can sympathise with those who are ignorant or who have gone astray, because he too is subject tothe limitations of weakness.
3 proprio a causa di questa anche per se stesso deve offrire sacrifici per i peccati, come lo fa per il popolo.	3 That is why he has to make sin offerings for himself as wel as for the people.
4 Nessuno può attribuire a se stesso questo onore, se non chi è chiamato da Dio, come Aronne.	4 No one takes this honour on himself; it needs a cal from God, as in Aaron's case.
5 Nello stesso modo Cristo non si attribuì la gloria di sommo sacerdote, ma gliela conferì colui che gli disse: 'Mio figlio sei tu, oggi ti ho generato'.	5 And so it was not Christ who gave himself the glory of becoming high priest, but the one who said tohim: You are my Son, today I have fathered you,
6 Come in un altro passo dice: 'Tu sei sacerdote per sempre, alla maniera di Melchìsedek'.	6 and in another text: You are a priest for ever, of the order of Melchizedek.
7 Proprio per questo nei giorni della sua vita terrena egli offrì preghiere e suppliche con forti grida e lacrime a colui che poteva liberarlo da morte e fu esaudito per la sua pietà;	7 During his life on earth, he offered up prayer and entreaty, with loud cries and with tears, to the onewho had the power to save him from death, and, winning a hearing by his reverence,
8 pur essendo Figlio, imparò tuttavia l'obbedienza dalle cose che patì	8 he learnt obedience, Son though he was, through his sufferings;
9 e, reso perfetto, divenne causa di salvezza eterna per tutti coloro che gli obbediscono,	9 when he had been perfected, he became for al who obey him the source of eternal salvation
10 essendo stato proclamato da Dio sommo sacerdote 'alla maniera di Melchìsedek'.	10 and was acclaimed by God with the title of high priest of the order of Melchizedek.
11 Su questo argomento abbiamo molte cose da dire, difficili da spiegare perché siete diventati lenti a capire.	11 On this subject we have many things to say, and they are difficult to explain because you have grownso slow at understanding.
12 Infatti, voi che dovreste essere ormai maestri per ragioni di tempo, avete di nuovo bisogno che qualcuno v'insegni i primi elementi degli oracoli di Dio e siete diventati bisognosi di latte e non di cibo solido.	12 Indeed, when you should by this time have become masters, you need someone to teach you al overagain the elements of the principles of God's sayings; you have gone back to needing milk, and not solid food.
13 Ora, chi si nutre ancora di latte è ignaro della dottrina della giustizia, perché è ancora un bambino.	13 Truly, no one who is stil living on milk can digest the doctrine of saving justice, being stil a baby.
14 Il nutrimento solido invece è per gli uomini fatti, quelli che hanno le facoltà esercitate a distinguere il buono dal cattivo.	14 Solid food is for adults with minds trained by practice to distinguish between good and bad.
