18 Ecco come avvenne la nascita di Gesù Cristo: sua madre Maria, essendo promessa sposa di Giuseppe, prima che andassero a vivere insieme si trovò incinta per opera dello Spirito Santo.	18 Now the procreation of the Christ occurred in this way. 22 Tutto questo avvenne perché si adempisse ciò che era stato detto dal Signore per mezzo del profeta:	22 Now all this occurred in order to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
23 'Ecco, la vergine concepirà e partorirà un figlio che sarà chiamato Emmanuele,' che significa 'Dio con noi'.	23 “Behold, a virgin shall conceive in her womb, and she shall give birth to a son. And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which means: God is with us.”
