Osea 5

1 Ascoltate questo, o sacerdoti, state attenti, gente d'Israele, o casa del re, porgete l'orecchio, poiché contro di voi si fa il giudizio. Voi foste infatti un laccio in Mizpà, una rete tesa sul Tabor	1 Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
2 e una fossa profonda a Sittìm; ma io sarò una frusta per tutti costoro.	2 And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.
3 Io conosco Èfraim e non mi è ignoto Israele. Ti sei prostituito, Èfraim! Si è contaminato Israele.	3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.
4 Non dispongono le loro opere per far ritorno al loro Dio, poiché uno spirito di prostituzione è fra loro e non conoscono il Signore.	4 They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.
5 L'arroganza d'Israele testimonia contro di lui, Israele ed Èfraim cadranno per le loro colpe e Giuda soccomberà con loro.	5 And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.
6 Con i loro greggi e i loro armenti andranno in cerca del Signore, ma non lo troveranno: egli si è allontanato da loro.	6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
7 Sono stati sleali verso il Signore, generando figli bastardi: un conquistatore li divorerà insieme con i loro campi.	7 They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.
8 Suonate il corno in Gàbaa e la tromba in Rama, date l'allarme a Bet-Avèn, all'erta, Beniamino!	8 Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Beth-aven, after thee, O Benjamin.
9 Èfraim sarà devastato nel giorno del castigo: per le tribù d'Israele annunzio una cosa sicura.	9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.
10 I capi di Giuda sono diventati come quelli che spostano i confini e su di essi come acqua verserò la mia ira.	10 The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
11 Èfraim è un oppressore, un violatore del diritto, ha cominciato a inseguire le vanità.	11 Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.
12 Ma io sarò come una tignola per Èfraim e come un tarlo per la casa di Giuda.	12 Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
13 Èfraim ha visto la sua infermità e Giuda la sua piaga. Èfraim è ricorso all'Assiria e Giuda si è rivolto al gran re; ma egli non potrà curarvi, non guarirà la vostra piaga,	13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
14 perché io sarò come un leone per Èfraim, come un leoncello per la casa di Giuda. Io farò strage e me ne andrò, porterò via la preda e nessuno me la toglierà.	14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
15 Me ne ritornerò alla mia dimora finché non avranno espiato e cercheranno il mio volto, e ricorreranno a me nella loro angoscia.	15 I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
