BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Allora Mosè e gli Israeliti cantarono questo canto al Signore e dissero: "Voglio cantare in onore del Signore: perché ha mirabilmente trionfato, ha gettato in mare cavallo e cavaliere.	1 It was then that Moses and the Israelites sang this song in Yahweh's honour: I shall sing to Yahweh,for he has covered himself in glory, horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.
2 Mia forza e mio canto è il Signore, egli mi ha salvato. È il mio Dio e lo voglio lodare, è il Dio di mio padre e lo voglio esaltare!	2 Yah is my strength and my song, to him I owe my deliverance. He is my God and I shal praise him,my father's God and I shal extol him.
3 Il Signore è prode in guerra, si chiama Signore.	3 Yahweh is a warrior; Yahweh is his name.
4 I carri del faraone e il suo esercito ha gettato nel mare e i suoi combattenti scelti furono sommersi nel Mare Rosso.	4 Pharaoh's chariots and army he has hurled into the sea the pick of his officers have been drowned inthe Sea of Reeds.
5 Gli abissi li ricoprirono, sprofondarono come pietra.	5 The ocean has closed over them; they have sunk to the bottom like a stone.
6 La tua destra, Signore, terribile per la potenza, la tua destra, Signore, annienta il nemico;	6 Your right hand, Yahweh, wins glory by its strength, your right hand, Yahweh, shatters your foes,
7 con sublime grandezza abbatti i tuoi avversari, scateni il tuo furore che li divora come paglia.	7 and by your great majesty you fell your assailants; you unleash your fury, it consumes them like chaff.
8 Al soffio della tua ira si accumularono le acque, si alzarono le onde come un argine, si rappresero gli abissi in fondo al mare.	8 A blast from your nostrils and the waters piled high; the waves stood firm as a dyke; the bed of the seabecame firm ground.
9 Il nemico aveva detto: Inseguirò, raggiungerò, spartirò il bottino, se ne sazierà la mia brama; sfodererò la spada, li conquisterà la mia mano!	9 The enemy said, 'I shal give chase and overtake, 'I shal share out the spoil and glut myself on them, 'Ishall draw my sword, my hand wil destroy them.'
10 Soffiasti con il tuo alito: il mare li coprì, sprofondarono come piombo in acque profonde.	10 You blew with your breath, the sea closed over them; they sank like lead in the terrible waters.
11 Chi è come te fra gli dèi, Signore? Chi è come te, maestoso in santità, tremendo nelle imprese, operatore di prodigi?	11 Yahweh, who is like you, majestic in sanctity, who like you among the holy ones, fearsome of deed,worker of wonders?
12 Stendesti la destra: la terra li inghiottì.	12 You stretched your right hand out, the earth swallowed them!
13 Guidasti con il tuo favore questo popolo che hai riscattato, lo conducesti con forza alla tua santa dimora.	13 In your faithful love you led out the people you had redeemed, in your strength you have guided themto your holy dwel ing.
14 Hanno udito i popoli e tremano; dolore incolse gli abitanti della Filistea.	14 Hearing of this, the peoples tremble; pangs seize on the people of Philistia;
15 Già si spaventano i capi di Edom, i potenti di Moab li prende il timore; tremano tutti gli abitanti di Canaan.	15 the chieftains of Edom are dismayed, Moab's princes -- panic has seized them, all the inhabitants ofCanaan have melted away.
16 Piombano sopra di loro la paura e il terrore; per la potenza del tuo braccio restano immobili come pietra, finché sia passato il tuo popolo, Signore, finché sia passato questo tuo popolo che ti sei acquistato.	16 On them fall terror and dread; through the power of your arm they are stil as stone while your peopleare passing, Yahweh, while the people you have purchased are passing.
17 Lo fai entrare e lo pianti sul monte della tua eredità, luogo che per tua sede, Signore, hai preparato, santuario che le tue mani, Signore, hanno fondato.	17 You wil bring them in and plant them on the mountain which is your heritage, the place which you,Yahweh, have made your dwel ing, the sanctuary, Yahweh, prepared by your own hands.
18 Il Signore regna in eterno e per sempre!".	18 Yahweh will be king for ever and ever.
19 Quando infatti i cavalli del faraone, i suoi carri e i suoi cavalieri furono entrati nel mare, il Signore fece tornare sopra di essi le acque del mare, mentre gli Israeliti avevano camminato sull'asciutto in mezzo al mare.	19 For when Pharaoh's cavalry, with his chariots and horsemen, had gone into the sea, Yahweh broughtthe waters of the sea back over them, though the Israelites went on dry ground right through the sea.
20 Allora Maria, la profetessa, sorella di Aronne, prese in mano un timpano: dietro a lei uscirono le donne con i timpani, formando cori di danze.	20 The prophetess Miriam, Aaron's sister, took up a tambourine, and all the women fol owed her withtambourines, dancing,
21 Maria fece loro cantare il ritornello: "Cantate al Signore perché ha mirabilmente trionfato: ha gettato in mare cavallo e cavaliere!".	21 while Miriam took up from them the refrain: Sing to Yahweh, for he has covered himself in glory,horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.
22 Mosè fece levare l'accampamento di Israele dal Mare Rosso ed essi avanzarono verso il deserto di Sur. Camminarono tre giorni nel deserto e non trovarono acqua.	22 Moses led Israel away from the Sea of Reeds, and they entered the desert of Shur. They thentravel ed through the desert for three days without finding water.
23 Arrivarono a Mara, ma non potevano bere le acque di Mara, perché erano amare. Per questo erano state chiamate Mara.	23 When they reached Marah, they could not drink the Marah water because it was bitter; this is why theplace was named Marah.
24 Allora il popolo mormorò contro Mosè: "Che berremo?".	24 The people complained to Moses saying, 'What are we to drink?'
25 Egli invocò il Signore, il quale gli indicò un legno. Lo gettò nell'acqua e l'acqua divenne dolce. In quel luogo il Signore impose al popolo una legge e un diritto; in quel luogo lo mise alla prova.	25 Moses appealed to Yahweh for help, and Yahweh showed him a piece of wood. When Moses threwit into the water, the water became sweet. There he laid down a statute and law for them and there he put themto the test. Then he said,
26 Disse: "Se tu ascolterai la voce del Signore tuo Dio e farai ciò che è retto ai suoi occhi, se tu presterai orecchio ai suoi ordini e osserverai tutte le sue leggi, io non t'infliggerò nessuna delle infermità che ho inflitte agli Egiziani, perché io sono il Signore, colui che ti guarisce!".	26 'If you listen careful y to the voice of Yahweh your God and do what he regards as right, if you payattention to his commandments and keep al his laws, I shal never inflict on you any of the diseases that Iinflicted on the Egyptians, for I am Yahweh your Healer.'
27 Poi arrivarono a Elim, dove sono dodici sorgenti di acqua e settanta palme. Qui si accamparono presso l'acqua.	27 So they came to Elim where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees; and there theypitched camp beside the water.
