Première épître aux Corinthiens 15

1 Je vous rappelle, frères, l'Evangile que je vous ai annoncé, que vous avez reçu et dans lequelvous demeurez fermes,	1 And so I make known to you, brothers, the Gospel that I preached to you, which you also received, and on which you stand.
2 par lequel aussi vous vous sauvez, si vous le gardez tel que je vous l'ai annoncé; sinon, vousauriez cru en vain.	2 By the Gospel, too, you are being saved, if you hold to the understanding that I preached to you, lest you believe in vain.
3 Je vous ai donc transmis en premier lieu ce que j'avais moi-même reçu, à savoir que le Christest mort pour nos péchés selon les Ecritures,	3 For I handed on to you, first of all, what I also received: that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures;
4 qu'il a été mis au tombeau, qu'il est ressuscité le troisième jour selon les Ecritures,	4 and that he was buried; and that he rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures;
5 qu'il est apparu à Céphas, puis aux Douze.	5 and that he was seen by Cephas, and after that by the eleven.
6 Ensuite, il est apparu à plus de 500 frères à la fois - la plupart d'entre eux demeurent jusqu'àprésent et quelques-uns se sont endormis --	6 Next he was seen by more than five hundred brothers at one time, many of whom remain, even to the present time, although some have fallen asleep.
7 ensuite il est apparu à Jacques, puis à tous les apôtres.	7 Next, he was seen by James, then by all the Apostles.
8 Et, en tout dernier lieu, il m'est apparu à moi aussi, comme à l'avorton.	8 And last of all, he was seen also by me, as if I were someone born at the wrong time.
9 Car je suis le moindre des apôtres; je ne mérite pas d'être appelé apôtre, parce que j'aipersécuté l'Eglise de Dieu.	9 For I am the least of the Apostles. I am not worthy to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the Church of God.
10 C'est par la grâce de Dieu que je suis ce que je suis, et sa grâce à mon égard n'a pas étéstérile. Loin de là, j'ai travaillé plus qu'eux tous: oh! non pas moi, mais la grâce de Dieu qui est avec moi.	10 But, by the grace of God, I am what I am. And his grace in me has not been empty, since I have labored more abundantly than all of them. Yet it is not I, but the grace of God within me.
11 Bref, eux ou moi, voilà ce que nous prêchons. Et voilà ce que vous avez cru.	11 For whether it is I or they: so we preach, and so you have believed.
12 Or, si l'on prêche que le Christ est ressuscité des morts, comment certains parmi vouspeuvent-ils dire qu'il n'y a pas de résurrection des morts?	12 Now if Christ is preached, that he rose again from the dead, how is it that some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 S'il n'y a pas de résurrection des morts, le Christ non plus n'est pas ressuscité.	13 For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not risen.
14 Mais si le Christ n'est pas ressuscité, vide alors est notre message, vide aussi votre foi.	14 And if Christ has not risen, then our preaching is useless, and your faith is also useless.
15 Il se trouve même que nous sommes des faux témoins de Dieu, puisque nous avons attestécontre Dieu qu'il a ressuscité le Christ, alors qu'il ne l'a pas ressuscité, s'il est vrai que les morts ne ressuscitentpas.	15 Then, too, we would be found to be false witnesses of God, because we would have given testimony against God, saying that he had raised up Christ, when he had not raised him up, if, indeed, the dead do not rise again.
16 Car si les morts ne ressuscitent pas, le Christ non plus n'est pas ressuscité.	16 For if the dead do not rise again, then neither has Christ risen again.
17 Et si le Christ n'est pas ressuscité, vaine est votre foi; vous êtes encore dans vos péchés.	17 But if Christ has not risen, then your faith is vain; for you would still be in your sins.
18 Alors aussi ceux qui se sont endormis dans le Christ ont péri.	18 Then, too, those who have fallen asleep in Christ would have perished.
19 Si c'est pour cette vie seulement que nous avons mis notre espoir dans le Christ, noussommes les plus à plaindre de tous les hommes.	19 If we have hope in Christ for this life only, then we are more miserable than all men.
20 Mais non; le Christ est ressuscité d'entre les morts, prémices de ceux qui se sont endormis.	20 But now Christ has risen again from the dead, as the first-fruits of those who sleep.
21 Car, la mort étant venue par un homme, c'est par un homme aussi que vient la résurrectiondes morts.	21 For certainly, death came through a man. And so, the resurrection of the dead came through a man
22 De même en effet que tous meurent en Adam, ainsi tous revivront dans le Christ.	22 And just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be brought to life,
23 Mais chacun à son rang: comme prémices, le Christ, ensuite ceux qui seront au Christ, lorsde son Avènement.	23 but each one in his proper order: Christ, as the first-fruits, and next, those who are of Christ, who have believed in his advent.
24 Puis ce sera la fin, lorsqu'il remettra la royauté à Dieu le Père, après avoir détruit toutePrincipauté, Domination et Puissance.	24 Afterwards is the end, when he will have handed over the kingdom to God the Father, when he will have emptied all principality, and authority, and power.
25 Car il faut qu'il règne jusqu'à ce qu'il ait placé tous ses ennemis sous ses pieds.	25 For it is necessary for him to reign, until he has set all his enemies under his feet.
26 Le dernier ennemi détruit, c'est la Mort;	26 Lastly, the enemy called death shall be destroyed. For he has subjected all things under his feet. And although he says,
27 car il a tout mis sous ses pieds. Mais lorsqu'il dira: "Tous est soumis désormais", c'estévidemment à l'exclusion de Celui qui lui a soumis toutes choses.	27 “All things have been subjected to him,” without doubt he does not include the One who has subjected all things to him.
28 Et lorsque toutes choses lui auront été soumises, alors le Fils lui-même se soumettra à Celuiqui lui a tout soumis, afin que Dieu soit tout en tous.	28 And when all things will have been subjected to him, then even the Son himself will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to him, so that God may be all in all.
29 S'il en était autrement, que gagneraient ceux qui se font baptiser pour les morts? Si lesmorts ne ressuscitent absolument pas, pourquoi donc se fait-on baptiser pour eux?	29 Otherwise, what will those who are being baptized for the dead do, if the dead do not rise again at all? Why then are they being baptized for them?
30 Et nous-mêmes, pourquoi à toute heure nous exposer au péril?	30 Why also do we endure trials every hour?
31 Chaque jour je suis à la mort, aussi vrai, frères, que vous êtes pour moi un titre de gloiredans le Christ Jésus, notre Seigneur.	31 Daily I die, by means of your boasting, brothers: you whom I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.
32 Si c'est dans des vues humaines que j'ai livré combat contre les bêtes à Ephèse, que m'enrevient-il? Si les morts ne ressuscitent pas, mangeons et buvons, car demain nous mourrons.	32 If, according to man, I fought with the beasts at Ephesus, how would that benefit me, if the dead do not rise again? “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shall die.”
33 Ne vous y trompez pas: "Les mauvaises compagnies corrompent les bonnes moeurs."	33 Do not be led astray. Evil communication corrupts good morals.
34 Dégrisez-vous, comme il sied, et ne péchez pas; car il en est parmi vous qui ignorent tout deDieu. Je le dis à votre honte.	34 Be vigilant, you just ones, and do not be willing to sin. For certain persons have an ignorance of God. I say this to you with respect.
35 Mais, dira-t-on, comment les morts ressuscitent-ils? Avec quel corps reviennent-ils?	35 But someone may say, “How do the dead rise again?” or, “What type of body do they return with?”
36 Insensé! Ce que tu sèmes, toi, ne reprend vie s'il ne meurt.	36 How foolish! What you sow cannot be brought back to life, unless it first dies.
37 Et ce que tu sèmes, ce n'est pas le corps à venir, mais un simple grain, soit de blé, soit dequelque autre plante;	37 And what you sow is not the body that will be in the future, but a bare grain, such as of wheat, or of some other grain.
38 et Dieu lui donne un corps à son gré, à chaque semence un corps particulier.	38 For God gives it a body according to his will, and according to each seed’s proper body.
39 Toutes les chairs ne sont pas les mêmes, mais autre est la chair des hommes, autre la chairdes bêtes, autre la chair des oiseaux, autre celle des poissons.	39 Not all flesh is the same flesh. But one is indeed of men, another truly is of beasts, another is of birds, and another is of fish.
40 Il y a aussi des corps célestes et des corps terrestres, mais autre est l'éclat des célestes, autrecelui des terrestres.	40 Also, there are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. But while the one, certainly, has the glory of heaven, the other has the glory of earth.
41 Autre l'éclat du soleil, autre l'éclat de la lune, autre l'éclat des étoiles. Une étoile mêmediffère en éclat d'une étoile.	41 One has the brightness of the sun, another the brightness of the moon, and another the brightness of the stars. For even star differs from star in brightness.
42 Ainsi en va-t-il de la résurrection des morts: on est semé dans la corruption, on ressuscitedans l'incorruptibilité;	42 So it is also with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown in corruption shall rise to incorruption.
43 on est semé dans l'ignominie, on ressuscite dans la gloire; on est semé dans la faiblesse, onressuscite dans la force;	43 What is sown in dishonor shall rise to glory. What is sown in weakness shall rise to power.
44 on est semé corps psychique, on ressuscite corps spirituel. S'il y a un corps psychique, il y aaussi un corps spirituel.	44 What is sown with an animal body shall rise with a spiritual body. If there is an animal body, there is also a spiritual one.
45 C'est ainsi qu'il est écrit: Le premier homme, Adam, a été fait âme vivante; le dernierAdam, esprit vivifiant.	45 Just as it was written that the first man, Adam, was made with a living soul, so shall the last Adam be made with a spirit brought back to life.
46 Mais ce n'est pas le spirituel qui paraît d'abord; c'est le psychique, puis le spirituel.	46 So what is, at first, not spiritual, but animal, next becomes spiritual.
47 Le premier homme, issu du sol, est terrestre, le second, lui, vient du ciel.	47 The first man, being earthly, was of the earth; the second man, being heavenly, will be of heaven.
48 Tel a été le terrestre, tels seront aussi les terrestres; tel le céleste, tels seront aussi lescélestes.	48 Such things as are like the earth are earthly; and such things as are like the heavens are heavenly.
49 Et de même que nous avons porté l'image du terrestre, nous porterons aussi l'image ducéleste.	49 And so, just as we have carried the image of what is earthly, let us also carry the image of what is heavenly.
50 Je l'affirme, frères: la chair et le sang ne peuvent hériter du Royaume de Dieu, ni lacorruption hériter de l'incorruptibilité.	50 Now I say this, brothers, because flesh and blood is not able to possess the kingdom of God; neither will what is corrupt possess what is incorrupt.
51 Oui, je vais vous dire un mystère: nous ne mourrons pas tous, mais tous nous seronstransformés.	51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. Certainly, we shall all rise again, but we shall not all be transformed:
52 En un instant, en un clin d'oeil, au son de la trompette finale, car elle sonnera, la trompette,et les morts ressusciteront incorruptibles, et nous, nous serons transformés.	52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will rise up, incorruptible. And we shall be transformed.
53 Il faut, en effet, que cet être corruptible revête l'incorruptibilité, que cet être mortel revêtel'immortalité.	53 Thus, it is necessary for this corruptibility to be clothed with incorruptibility, and for this mortality to be clothed with immortality.
54 Quand donc cet être corruptible aura revêtu l'incorruptibilité et que cet être mortel aurarevêtu l'immortalité, alors s'accomplira la parole qui est écrite: La mort a été engloutie dans la victoire.	54 And when this mortality has been clothed with immortality, then the word that was written shall occur: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 Où est-elle, ô mort, ta victoire? Où est-il, ô mort, ton aiguillon?	55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
56 L'aiguillon de la mort, c'est le péché, et la force du péché, c'est la Loi.	56 Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57 Mais grâces soient à Dieu, qui nous donne la victoire par notre Seigneur Jésus Christ!	57 But thanks be to God, who has given us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Ainsi donc, mes frères bien-aimés, montrez-vous fermes, inébranlables, toujours en progrèsdans l'oeuvre du Seigneur, sachant que votre labeur n'est pas vain dans le Seigneur.	58 And so, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and unmovable, abounding always in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not useless in the Lord.
