1 Pedro y Juan subían al Templo para la oración de la hora nona.	1 Once, when Peter and John were going up to the Temple for the prayers at the ninth hour,
2 Había un hombre, tullido desde su nacimiento, al que llevaban y ponían todos los días junto a la puerta del Templo llamada Hermosa para que pidiera limosna a los que entraban en el Templo.	2 it happened that there was a man being carried along. He was a cripple from birth; and they used to puthim down every day near the Temple entrance cal ed the Beautiful Gate so that he could beg from the peoplegoing in.
3 Este, al ver a Pedro y a Juan que iban a entrar en el Templo, les pidió una limosna.	3 When this man saw Peter and John on their way into the Temple he begged from them.
4 Pedro fijó en él la mirada juntamente con Juan, y le dijo: «Míranos».	4 Peter, and John too, looked straight at him and said, 'Look at us.'
5 El les miraba con fijeza esperando recibir algo de ellos.	5 He turned to them expectantly, hoping to get something from them,
6 Pedro le dijo: «No tengo plata ni oro; pero lo que tengo, te doy: en nombre de Jesucristo, el Nazoreo, ponte a andar».	6 but Peter said, 'I have neither silver nor gold, but I wil give you what I have: in the name of Jesus Christthe Nazarene, walk!'
7 Y tomándole de la mano derecha le levantó. Al instante cobraron fuerza sus pies y tobillos,	7 Then he took him by the right hand and helped him to stand up. Instantly his feet and ankles becamefirm,
8 y de un salto se puso en pie y andaba. Entró con ellos en el Templo andando, saltando y alabando a Dios.	8 he jumped up, stood, and began to walk, and he went with them into the Temple, walking and jumpingand praising God.
9 Todo el pueblo le vio cómo andaba y alababa a Dios;	9 Everyone could see him walking and praising God,
10 le reconocían, pues él era el que pedía limosma sentado junto a la puerta Hermosa del Templo. Y se quedaron llenos de estupor y asombro por lo que había sucedido.	10 and they recognised him as the man who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple. Theywere all astonished and perplexed at what had happened to him.
11 Como él no soltaba a Pedro y a Juan, todo el pueblo, presa de estupor, corrió donde ellos al pórtico llamado de Salomón.	11 Everyone came running towards them in great excitement, to the Portico of Solomon, as it is called,where the man was stil clinging to Peter and John.
12 Pedro, al ver esto, se dirigió al pueblo: «Israelitas, ¿por qué os admiráis de esto, o por qué nos miráis fijamente, como si por nuestro poder o piedad hubiéramos hecho caminar a éste?	12 When Peter saw the people he addressed them, 'Men of Israel, why are you so surprised at this? Whyare you staring at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or holiness?
13 El Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob, el Dios de nuestros padres, ha glorificado a su siervo Jesús, a quien vosotros entregasteis y de quien renegasteis ante Pilato, cuando éste estaba resuelto a ponerle en libertad.	13 It is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, who has glorified his servantJesus whom you handed over and then disowned in the presence of Pilate after he had given his verdict torelease him.
14 Vosotros renegasteis del Santo y del Justo, y pedisteis que se os hiciera gracia de un asesino,	14 It was you who accused the Holy and Upright One, you who demanded that a murderer should bereleased to you
15 y matasteis al Jefe que lleva a la Vida. Pero Dios le resucitó de entre los muertos, y nosotros somos testigos de ello.	15 while you killed the prince of life. God, however, raised him from the dead, and to that fact we are witnesses;
16 Y por la fe en su nombre, este mismo nombre ha restablecido a éste que vosotros veis y conocéis; es, pues, la fe dada por su medio la que le ha restablecido totalmente ante todos vosotros.	16 and it is the name of Jesus which, through faith in him, has brought back the strength of this manwhom you see here and who is wel known to you. It is faith in him that has restored this man to health, as youcan al see.
17 «Ya sé yo, hermanos, que obrasteis por ignorancia, lo mismo que vuestros jefes.	17 'Now I know, brothers, that neither you nor your leaders had any idea what you were real y doing;
18 Pero Dios dio cumplimiento de este modo a lo que había anunciado por boca de todos los profetas: que su Cristo padecería.	18 but this was the way God carried out what he had foretold, when he said through all his prophets thathis Christ would suffer.
19 Arrepentíos, pues, y convertíos, para que vuestros pecados sean borrados,	19 Now you must repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,
20 a fin de que del Señor venga el tiempo de la consolación y envíe al Cristo que os había sido destinado, a Jesús,	20 and so that the Lord may send the time of comfort. Then he wil send you the Christ he haspredestined, that is Jesus,
21 a quien debe retener el cielo hasta el tiempo de la restauración universal, de que Dios habló por boca de sus santos profetas.	21 whom heaven must keep til the universal restoration comes which God proclaimed, speaking throughhis holy prophets.
22 Moisés efectivamente dijo: El Señor Dios os suscitará un profeta como yo de entre vuestros hermanos; escuchadle todo cuanto os diga.	22 Moses, for example, said, "From among your brothers the Lord God wil raise up for you a prophet likeme; you wil listen to whatever he tells you.
23 Todo el que no escuche a ese profeta, sea exterminado del pueblo.	23 Anyone who refuses to listen to that prophet shal be cut off from the people."
24 Y todos los profetas que desde Samuel y sus sucesores han hablado, anunciaron también estos días.	24 In fact, al the prophets that have ever spoken, from Samuel onwards, have predicted these days.
25 «Vosotros sois los hijos de los profetas y de la alianza que Dios estableció con vuestros padres al decir a Abraham: En tu descendencia serán bendecidas todas las familias de la tierra.	25 'You are the heirs of the prophets, the heirs of the covenant God made with your ancestors when hetold Abraham, "Al the nations of the earth will be blessed in your descendants".
26 Para vosotros en primer lugar ha resucitado Dios a su Siervo y le ha enviado para bendeciros, apartándoos a cada uno de vuestras iniquidades».	26 It was for you in the first place that God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you as every one ofyou turns from his wicked ways.'
