2 to God's holy people in Colossae, our faithful brothers in Christ. Grace and peace to you from God ourFather.2 a los santos y fieles hermanos en Cristo que residen en Colosas: gracia y paz a vosotros de parte de Dios, nuestro Padre.
3 We give thanks for you to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, continual y in our prayers,3 Damos gracias a Dios, Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, orando siempre por vosotros,
4 ever since we heard about your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you show towards all God's holypeople4 al tener noticia de vuestra fe en Cristo Jesús y del amor que tenéis a todos los santos,
5 because of the hope which is stored up for you in heaven. News of this hope reached you not long agothrough the word of truth, the gospel5 a causa de la esperanza que os está reservada en los cielos y de la que oísteis hablar cuando se os anunció la verdad del Evangelio de Dios,
6 that came to you in the same way as it is bearing fruit and growing throughout the world. It has had thesame effect among you, ever since you heard about the grace of God and recognised it for what it truly is.6 que llegó hasta vosotros. Este sigue dando fruto y propagándose por todo el mundo como ha ocurrido también entre vosotros desde el día en que escuchasteis y comprendisteis la gracia de Dios en la verdad.
7 This you learnt from Epaphras, our very dear fel ow-worker and a trustworthy deputy for us as Christ'sservant,7 Así os lo enseñó Epafras, nuestro querido compañero de servicio, fiel servidor de Cristo en lugar nuestro.
8 and it was he who also told us all about your love in the Spirit.8 Él es quien nos ha informado del amor que sentís por nosotros en el Espíritu.
9 That is why, ever since the day he told us, we have never failed to remember you in our prayers and askthat through perfect wisdom and spiritual understanding you should reach the ful est knowledge of his will9 Por eso también nosotros, desde que nos enteramos, no dejamos de orar por vosotros y de pedir que consigáis un conocimiento perfecto de su voluntad con toda sabiduría e inteligencia espiritual.
10 and so be able to lead a life worthy of the Lord, a life acceptable to him in all its aspects, bearing fruit in every kind of good work and growing in knowledge of God,10 De esa manera vuestra conducta será digna del Señor, agradándole en todo; fructificando en toda obra buena, y creciendo en el conocimiento de Dios,
11 fortified, in accordance with his glorious strength, with al power always to persevere and endure,11 fortalecidos plenamente según el poder de su gloria para soportar todo con paciencia y magnanimidad, con alegría,
12 giving thanks with joy to the Father who has made you able to share the lot of God's holy people andwith them to inherit the light.12 dando gracias a Dios Padre, que os ha hecho capaces de compartir la herencia del pueblo santo en la luz.
13 Because that is what he has done. It is he who has rescued us from the ruling force of darkness andtransferred us to the kingdom of the Son that he loves,13 Él nos ha sacado del dominio de las tinieblas, | y nos ha trasladado | al reino del Hijo de su amor,
14 and in him we enjoy our freedom, the forgiveness of sin.14 por cuya sangre hemos recibido la redención, | el perdón de los pecados.
15 He is the image of the unseen God, the first-born of al creation,15 Él es imagen del Dios invisible, | primogénito de toda criatura;
16 for in him were created all things in heaven and on earth: everything visible and everything invisible,thrones, ruling forces, sovereignties, powers -- al things were created through him and for him.16 porque en él fueron creadas todas las cosas: | celestes y terrestres, | visibles e invisibles. | Tronos y Dominaciones, | Principados y Potestades; | todo fue creado por él y para él.
17 He exists before al things and in him al things hold together,17 Él es anterior a todo, | y todo se mantiene en él.
18 and he is the Head of the Body, that is, the Church. He is the Beginning, the first-born from the dead,so that he should be supreme in every way;18 Él es también la cabeza del cuerpo: de la Iglesia. | Él es el principio, el primogénito de entre los muertos, | y así es el primero en todo.
19 because God wanted al ful ness to be found in him19 Porque en él quiso Dios que residiera toda la plenitud.
20 and through him to reconcile al things to him, everything in heaven and everything on earth, by makingpeace through his death on the cross.20 Y por él y para él | quiso reconciliar todas las cosas, | las del cielo y las de la tierra, | haciendo la paz por la sangre de su cruz.
21 You were once estranged and of hostile intent through your evil behaviour;21 Vosotros, en otro tiempo, estabais también alejados y erais enemigos por vuestros pensamientos y malas acciones;
22 now he has reconciled you, by his death and in that mortal body, to bring you before himself holy,faultless and irreproachable-22 ahora en cambio, por la muerte que Cristo sufrió en su cuerpo de carne, habéis sido reconciliados para ser admitidos a su presencia santos, sin mancha y sin reproche,
23 as long as you persevere and stand firm on the solid base of the faith, never letting yourselves driftaway from the hope promised by the gospel, which you have heard, which has been preached to every creatureunder heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become the servant.23 a condición de que permanezcáis cimentados y estables en la fe, e inamovibles en la esperanza del Evangelio que habéis escuchado: el mismo que se proclama en la creación entera bajo el cielo, del que yo, Pablo, he llegado a ser servidor.
24 It makes me happy to be suffering for you now, and in my own body to make up all the hardships thatstill have to be undergone by Christ for the sake of his body, the Church,24 Ahora me alegro de mis sufrimientos por vosotros: así completo en mi carne lo que falta a los padecimientos de Cristo, en favor de su cuerpo que es la Iglesia,
25 of which I was made a servant with the responsibility towards you that God gave to me, that ofcompleting God's message,25 de la cual Dios me ha nombrado servidor, conforme al encargo que me ha sido encomendado en orden a vosotros: llevar a plenitud la palabra de Dios,
26 the message which was a mystery hidden for generations and centuries and has now been revealed tohis holy people.26 el misterio escondido desde siglos y generaciones y revelado ahora a sus santos,
27 It was God's purpose to reveal to them how rich is the glory of this mystery among the gentiles; it isChrist among you, your hope of glory:27 a quienes Dios ha querido dar a conocer cuál es la riqueza de la gloria de este misterio entre los gentiles, que es Cristo en vosotros, la esperanza de la gloria.
28 this is the Christ we are proclaiming, admonishing and instructing everyone in all wisdom, to makeeveryone perfect in Christ.28 Nosotros anunciamos a ese Cristo; amonestamos a todos, enseñamos a todos, con todos los recursos de la sabiduría, para presentarlos a todos perfectos en Cristo.
29 And it is for this reason that I labour, striving with his energy which works in me mightily.29 Por este motivo lucho denodadamente con su fuerza, que actúa poderosamente en mí.
