1 From Paul, by the wil of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, and from our brother Timothy	1 Pablo, Apóstol de Jesucristo por la voluntad de Dios, y el hermano Timoteo
2 to God's holy people in Colossae, our faithful brothers in Christ. Grace and peace to you from God ourFather.	2 saludan a los santos de Colosas, sus fieles hermanos en Cristo. Llegue a ustedes la gracia y la paz que proceden de Dios, nuestro Padre.
3 We give thanks for you to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, continual y in our prayers,	3 Damos gracias a Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, orando sin cesar por ustedes,
4 ever since we heard about your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you show towards all God's holypeople	4 desde que nos hemos enterado de la fe que tienen en Cristo Jesús y del amor que demuestran a todos los santos,
5 because of the hope which is stored up for you in heaven. News of this hope reached you not long agothrough the word of truth, the gospel	5 a causa de la esperanza que les está reservada en el cielo. Ustedes oyeron anunciar esta esperanza por medio de la Palabra de la verdad, de la Buena Noticia
6 that came to you in the same way as it is bearing fruit and growing throughout the world. It has had thesame effect among you, ever since you heard about the grace of God and recognised it for what it truly is.	6 que han recibido y que se extiende y fructifica en el mundo entero. Eso mismo sucede entre ustedes, desde que oyeron y comprendieron la gracia de Dios en toda su verdad,
7 This you learnt from Epaphras, our very dear fel ow-worker and a trustworthy deputy for us as Christ'sservant,	7 al ser instruidos por Epafras, nuestro querido compañero en el servicio de Dios. El es para ustedes un fiel ministro de Cristo,
8 and it was he who also told us all about your love in the Spirit.	8 y por él conocimos el amor que el Espíritu les inspira.
9 That is why, ever since the day he told us, we have never failed to remember you in our prayers and askthat through perfect wisdom and spiritual understanding you should reach the ful est knowledge of his will	9 Por eso, desde que nos enteramos de esto, oramos y pedimos sin cesar por ustedes, para que Dios les haga conocer perfectamente su voluntad, y les dé con abundancia la sabiduría y el sentido de las cosas espirituales.
10 and so be able to lead a life worthy of the Lord, a life acceptable to him in all its aspects, bearing fruit in every kind of good work and growing in knowledge of God,	10 Así podrán comportarse de una manera digan del Señor, agradándolo en todo, fructificando en toda clase de obras buenas y progresando en el conocimiento de Dios.
11 fortified, in accordance with his glorious strength, with al power always to persevere and endure,	11 Fortalecidos plenamente con el poder de su gloria, adquirirán una verdadera firmeza y constancia de ánimo,
12 giving thanks with joy to the Father who has made you able to share the lot of God's holy people andwith them to inherit the light.	12 y darán gracias con alegría al Padre, que nos ha hecho dignos de participar de la herencia luminosa de los santos.
13 Because that is what he has done. It is he who has rescued us from the ruling force of darkness andtransferred us to the kingdom of the Son that he loves,	13 Porque él nos libró del poder de las tinieblas y nos hizo entrar en el Reino de su Hijo muy querido,
14 and in him we enjoy our freedom, the forgiveness of sin.	14 en quien tenemos la redención y el perdón de los pecados.
15 He is the image of the unseen God, the first-born of al creation,	15 El es la Imagen del Dios invisible, el Primogénito de toda la creación,
16 for in him were created all things in heaven and on earth: everything visible and everything invisible,thrones, ruling forces, sovereignties, powers -- al things were created through him and for him.	16 porque en él fueron creadas todas las cosas, tanto en el cielo como en la tierra los seres visibles y los invisibles, Tronos, Dominaciones, Principados y Potestades: todo fue creado por medio de él y para él.
17 He exists before al things and in him al things hold together,	17 El existe antes que todas las cosas y todo subsiste en él.
18 and he is the Head of the Body, that is, the Church. He is the Beginning, the first-born from the dead,so that he should be supreme in every way;	18 El es también la Cabeza del Cuerpo, es decir, de la Iglesia. El es el Principio, el Primero que resucitó de entre los muertos, a fin de que él tuviera la primacía en todo,
19 because God wanted al ful ness to be found in him	19 porque Dios quiso que en él residiera toda la Plenitud.
20 and through him to reconcile al things to him, everything in heaven and everything on earth, by makingpeace through his death on the cross.	20 Por él quiso reconciliar consigo todo lo que existe en la tierra y en el cielo, restableciendo la paz por la sangre de su cruz.
21 You were once estranged and of hostile intent through your evil behaviour;	21 Antes, a causa de sus pensamientos y sus malas obras, ustedes eran extraños y enemigos de Dios.
22 now he has reconciled you, by his death and in that mortal body, to bring you before himself holy,faultless and irreproachable-	22 Pero ahora, él los ha reconciliado en el cuerpo carnal de su Hijo, entregándolo a la muerte, a fin de que ustedes pudieran presentarse delante de él como una ofrenda santa, inmaculada e irreprochable.
23 as long as you persevere and stand firm on the solid base of the faith, never letting yourselves driftaway from the hope promised by the gospel, which you have heard, which has been preached to every creatureunder heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become the servant.	23 Para esto es necesario que ustedes permanezcan firmes y bien fundados en la fe, sin apartarse de la esperanza transmitida por la Buena Noticia que han oído y que fue predicada a todas las criaturas que están bajo el cielo y de la cual yo mismo, Pablo, fui constituido ministro.
24 It makes me happy to be suffering for you now, and in my own body to make up all the hardships thatstill have to be undergone by Christ for the sake of his body, the Church,	24 Ahora me alegro de poder sufrir por ustedes, y completo en mi carne lo que falta a los padecimientos de Cristo, para bien de su Cuerpo, que es la Iglesia.
25 of which I was made a servant with the responsibility towards you that God gave to me, that ofcompleting God's message,	25 En efecto, yo fui constituido ministro de la Iglesia, porque de acuerdo con el plan divino, he sido encargado de llevar a su plenitud entre ustedes la Palabra de Dios,
26 the message which was a mystery hidden for generations and centuries and has now been revealed tohis holy people.	26 el misterio que estuvo oculto desde toda la eternidad y que ahora Dios quiso manifestar a sus santos.
27 It was God's purpose to reveal to them how rich is the glory of this mystery among the gentiles; it isChrist among you, your hope of glory:	27 A ellos les ha revelado cuánta riqueza y gloria contiene para los paganos este misterio, que es Cristo entre ustedes, la esperanza de la gloria.
28 this is the Christ we are proclaiming, admonishing and instructing everyone in all wisdom, to makeeveryone perfect in Christ.	28 Nosotros anunciamos a Cristo, exhortando a todos los hombres e instruyéndolos en la verdadera sabiduría, a fin de que todos alcancen su madurez en Cristo.
29 And it is for this reason that I labour, striving with his energy which works in me mightily.	29 Por esta razón, me fatigo y lucho con la fuerza de Cristo que obra en mí poderosamente.
