Romans 8

NEW JERUSALEM	MODERN HEBREW BIBLE
1 Thus, condemnation wil never come to those who are in Christ Jesus,	1 על כן אין אשמה באלה אשר הם במשיח ישוע המתהלכים בלא כבשר כי אם לפי הרוח
2 because the law of the Spirit which gives life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin anddeath.	2 כי תורת רוח החיים במשיח ישוע שחררה אתי מתורת החטא והמות
3 What the Law could not do because of the weakness of human nature, God did, sending his own Sonin the same human nature as any sinner to be a sacrifice for sin, and condemning sin in that human nature.	3 כי מה שלא יכלה התורה לעשות הנחלשה על יד הבשר עשה האלהים בשלחו את בנו בתואר בשר החטא ובעד החטא וירשיע את החטא בבשר
4 This was so that the Law's requirements might be fully satisfied in us as we direct our lives not by ournatural inclinations but by the Spirit.	4 למען תמלא חקת התורה בנו המתהלכים בלא כבשר כי אם לפי הרוח
5 Those who are living by their natural inclinations have their minds on the things human nature desires;those who live in the Spirit have their minds on spiritual things.	5 כי אשר המה לבשר בעניני הבשר יחשבו ואשר לרוח בעניני הרוח יחשבו
6 And human nature has nothing to look forward to but death, while the Spirit looks forward to life andpeace,	6 כי מחשבת הבשר היא המות ומחשבת הרוח היא החיים והשלום
7 because the outlook of disordered human nature is opposed to God, since it does not submit to God'sLaw, and indeed it cannot,	7 יען מחשבת הבשר רק שנאת אלהים היא באשר לא תשתעבד לתורת האלהים ואף איננה יכולה
8 and those who live by their natural inclinations can never be pleasing to God.	8 ואשר המה בבשר לא יוכלו להיות רצוים לאלהים
9 You, however, live not by your natural inclinations, but by the Spirit, since the Spirit of God has made ahome in you. Indeed, anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.	9 ואתם אינכם בבשר כי אם ברוח אם אמנם רוח האלהים שכן בקרבכם כי מי שאין בו רוח המשיח איננו שלו
10 But when Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin but the spirit is alive because you havebeen justified;	10 ואם המשיח בקרבכם אז הגוף מת הוא בדבר החטא והרוח חיים הוא בדבר הצדקה
11 and if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead has made his home in you, then he whoraised Christ Jesus from the dead wil give life to your own mortal bodies through his Spirit living in you.	11 ואם ישכן בקרבכם רוח המעיר את ישוע מן המתים הוא אשר העיר את המשיח מן המתים גם את גויותיכם המתות יחיה על ידי רוחו השכן בקרבכם
12 So then, my brothers, we have no obligation to human nature to be dominated by it.	12 לכן אחי חיבים אנחנו לא לבשר לחיות לפי הבשר
13 If you do live in that way, you are doomed to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the habitsoriginating in the body, you will have life.	13 כי אם תחיו לפי הבשר מות תמתון ואם על ידי הרוח תמותתו את מעללי הבשר חיה תחיו
14 Al who are guided by the Spirit of God are sons of God;	14 כי כל אשר רוח אלהים ינהגם בני אלהים המה
15 for what you received was not the spirit of slavery to bring you back into fear; you received the Spiritof adoption, enabling us to cry out, 'Abba, Father!'	15 כי לא קבלתם רוח עבדות לשוב לירא כי אם קבלתם רוח משפט בנים אשר בו קראים אנחנו אבא אבינו
16 The Spirit himself joins with our spirit to bear witness that we are children of God.	16 והרוח ההוא מעיד ברוחנו כי בני אלהים אנחנו
17 And if we are children, then we are heirs, heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, provided that weshare his suffering, so as to share his glory.	17 ואם בנים אנחנו גם ירשים נהיה ירשי אלהים וחברי המשיח בירשה אם אמנם נתענה אתו למען גם אתו נכבד
18 In my estimation, al that we suffer in the present time is nothing in comparison with the glory which isdestined to be disclosed for us,	18 כי אחשב אשר ענויי הזמן הזה אינם שקולים כנגד הכבוד העתיד להגלות עלינו
19 for the whole creation is waiting with eagerness for the children of God to be revealed.	19 כי הבריאה תערג ועיניה תלויות להתגלות בני אלהים
20 It was not for its own purposes that creation had frustration imposed on it, but for the purposes of himwho imposed it-	20 כי נכבשה הבריאה להבל לא מרצונה כי אם למען הכבש אתה אלי תקוה
21 with the intention that the whole creation itself might be freed from its slavery to corruption andbrought into the same glorious freedom as the children of God.	21 אשר הבריאה גם היא תשחרר מעבדות הכליון אל חרות כבוד בני האלהים
22 We are wel aware that the whole creation, until this time, has been groaning in labour pains.	22 כי ידענו אשר הבריאה כלה יחד תאנח ותחיל עד הנה
23 And not only that: we too, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we are groaning insideourselves, waiting with eagerness for our bodies to be set free.	23 ולא זאת בלבד כי גם אנחנו אף אם יש לנו בכורי הרוח נאנח בנפשנו ונחכה למשפט הבנים פדות גויתנו
24 In hope, we already have salvation; in hope, not visibly present, or we should not be hoping -- nobodygoes on hoping for something which is already visible.	24 כי נושענו בתקוה אך התקוה הנראה לעינים איננה תקוה כי איך ייחל איש לדבר אשר הוא ראה
25 But having this hope for what we cannot yet see, we are able to wait for it with perseveringconfidence.	25 אבל אם נקוה לאשר לא ראינהו נחכה לו בסבלנות
26 And as wel as this, the Spirit too comes to help us in our weakness, for, when we do not know how topray properly, then the Spirit personal y makes our petitions for us in groans that cannot be put into words;	26 וכן גם הרוח תמך אתנו בחלשותינו כי לא ידענו מה להתפלל כראוי אכן הרוח הוא מפגיע בעדנו באנחות עמקות מדבר
27 and he who can see into al hearts knows what the Spirit means because the prayers that the Spiritmakes for God's holy people are always in accordance with the mind of God.	27 והחקר לבבות יודע את אשר יחשב הרוח כי כרצון האלהים יפגיע בעד הקדושים
28 We are wel aware that God works with those who love him, those who have been cal ed inaccordance with his purpose, and turns everything to their good.	28 והנה ידענו כי לאהבי אלהים הקרואים בעצתו הכל יעזר לטוב להם
29 He decided beforehand who were the ones destined to be moulded to the pattern of his Son, so thathe should be the eldest of many brothers;	29 כי את אשר ידעם מקדם אתם גם יעד מקדם להיות דומים לדמות בנו למען יהיה הבכור בתוך אחים רבים
30 it was those so destined that he cal ed; those that he cal ed, he justified, and those that he hasjustified he has brought into glory.	30 ואת אשר יעדם מקדם אתם גם קרא ואת אשר קראם אתם גם הצדיק ואת אשר הצדיקם אתם גם פאר
31 After saying this, what can we add? If God is for us, who can be against us?	31 ועתה מה נאמר על זאת אם האלהים לנו מי יריב אתנו
32 Since he did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for the sake of all of us, then can we not expectthat with him he wil freely give us al his gifts?	32 אשר על בנו יחידו לא חס כי אם נתנו בעד כלנו הלא גם יתן לנו עמו את הכל
33 Who can bring any accusation against those that God has chosen? When God grants saving justice	33 מי יענה בבחירי אלהים הן אלהים הוא המצדיק
34 who can condemn? Are we not sure that it is Christ Jesus, who died -- yes and more, who was raised from the dead and is at God's right hand -- and who is adding his plea for us?	34 ומי הוא יאשימם הן המשיח אשר מת וביותר אשר נעור מעם המתים הוא לימין האלהים והוא יפגיע בעדנו
35 Can anything cut us off from the love of Christ -- can hardships or distress, or persecution, or lack offood and clothing, or threats or violence;	35 מי יפרידנו מאהבת המשיח הצרה או מצוקה או משטמה או רעב אם עריה או סכנה או חרב
36 as scripture says: For your sake we are being massacred al day long, treated as sheep to beslaughtered?	36 ככתוב כי עליך הרגנו כל היום נחשבנו כצאן טבחה
37 No; we come through al these things triumphantly victorious, by the power of him who loved us.	37 אבל בכל אלה גברנו מאד על ידי האהב אתנו
38 For I am certain of this: neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nothing already inexistence and nothing stil to come, nor any power,	38 ובטוח אנכי כי לא המות ולא החיים לא מלאכים ולא שררות ולא גבורות לא ההוה ולא העתיד
39 nor the heights nor the depths, nor any created thing whatever, wil be able to come between us andthe love of God, known to us in Christ Jesus our Lord.	39 לא הרוח ולא העמק ולא כל בריה אחרת יוכלו להפרידנו מאהבת האלהים אשר היא במשיח ישוע אדנינו
