Romans 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Thus, condemnation wil never come to those who are in Christ Jesus,	1 Por consiguiente, ninguna condenación pesa ya sobre los que están en Cristo Jesús.
2 because the law of the Spirit which gives life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin anddeath.	2 Porque la ley del espíritu que da la vida en Cristo Jesús te liberó de la ley del pecado y de la muerte.
3 What the Law could not do because of the weakness of human nature, God did, sending his own Sonin the same human nature as any sinner to be a sacrifice for sin, and condemning sin in that human nature.	3 Pues lo que era imposible a la ley, reducida a la impotencia por la carne, Dios, habiendo enviado a su propio Hijo en una carne semejante a la del pecado, y en orden al pecado, condenó el pecado en la carne,
4 This was so that the Law's requirements might be fully satisfied in us as we direct our lives not by ournatural inclinations but by the Spirit.	4 a fin de que la justicia de la ley se cumpliera en nosotros que seguimos una conducta, no según la carne, sino según el espíritu.
5 Those who are living by their natural inclinations have their minds on the things human nature desires;those who live in the Spirit have their minds on spiritual things.	5 Efectivamente, los que viven según la carne, desean lo carnal; mas los que viven según el espíritu, lo espiritual.
6 And human nature has nothing to look forward to but death, while the Spirit looks forward to life andpeace,	6 Pues las tendencias de la carne son muerte; mas las del espíritu, vida y paz,
7 because the outlook of disordered human nature is opposed to God, since it does not submit to God'sLaw, and indeed it cannot,	7 ya que las tendencias de la carne llevan al odio a Dios: no se someten a la ley de Dios, ni siquiera pueden;
8 and those who live by their natural inclinations can never be pleasing to God.	8 así, los que están en la carne, no pueden agradar a Dios.
9 You, however, live not by your natural inclinations, but by the Spirit, since the Spirit of God has made ahome in you. Indeed, anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.	9 Mas vosotros no estáis en la carne, sino en el espíritu, ya que el Espíritu de Dios habita en vosotros. El que no tiene el Espíritu de Cristo, no le pertenece;
10 But when Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin but the spirit is alive because you havebeen justified;	10 mas si Cristo está en vosotros, aunque el cuerpo haya muerto ya a causa del pecado, el espíritu es vida a causa de la justicia.
11 and if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead has made his home in you, then he whoraised Christ Jesus from the dead wil give life to your own mortal bodies through his Spirit living in you.	11 Y si el Espíritu de Aquel que resucitó a Jesús de entre los muertos habita en vosotros, Aquel que resucitó a Cristo de entre los muertos dará también la vida a vuestros cuerpos mortales por su Espíritu que habita en vosotros.
12 So then, my brothers, we have no obligation to human nature to be dominated by it.	12 Así que, hermanos míos, no somos deudores de la carne para vivir según la carne,
13 If you do live in that way, you are doomed to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the habitsoriginating in the body, you will have life.	13 pues, si vivís según la carne, moriréis. Pero si con el Espíritu hacéis morir las obras del cuerpo, viviréis.
14 Al who are guided by the Spirit of God are sons of God;	14 En efecto, todos los que son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios son hijos de Dios.
15 for what you received was not the spirit of slavery to bring you back into fear; you received the Spiritof adoption, enabling us to cry out, 'Abba, Father!'	15 Pues no recibisteis un espíritu de esclavos para recaer en el temor; antes bien, recibisteis un espíritu de hijos adoptivos que nos hace exclamar: ¡Abbá, Padre!
16 The Spirit himself joins with our spirit to bear witness that we are children of God.	16 El Espíritu mismo se une a nuestro espíritu para dar testimonio de que somos hijos de Dios.
17 And if we are children, then we are heirs, heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, provided that weshare his suffering, so as to share his glory.	17 Y, si hijos, también herederos: herederos de Dios y coherederos de Cristo, ya que sufrimos con él, para ser también con él glorificados.
18 In my estimation, al that we suffer in the present time is nothing in comparison with the glory which isdestined to be disclosed for us,	18 Porque estimo que los sufrimientos del tiempo presente no son comparables con la gloria que se ha de manifestar en nosotros.
19 for the whole creation is waiting with eagerness for the children of God to be revealed.	19 Pues la ansiosa espera de la creación desea vivamente la revelación de los hijos de Dios.
20 It was not for its own purposes that creation had frustration imposed on it, but for the purposes of himwho imposed it-	20 La creación, en efecto, fue sometida a la vanidad, no espontaneamente, sino por aquel que la sometió, en la esperanza
21 with the intention that the whole creation itself might be freed from its slavery to corruption andbrought into the same glorious freedom as the children of God.	21 de ser liberada de la servidumbre de la corrupción para participar en la gloriosa libertad de los hijos de Dios.
22 We are wel aware that the whole creation, until this time, has been groaning in labour pains.	22 Pues sabemos que la creación entera gime hasta el presente y sufre dolores de parto.
23 And not only that: we too, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we are groaning insideourselves, waiting with eagerness for our bodies to be set free.	23 Y no sólo ella; también nosotros, que poseemos las primicias del Espíritu, nosotros mismos gemimos en nuestro interior anhelando el rescate de nuestro cuerpo.
24 In hope, we already have salvation; in hope, not visibly present, or we should not be hoping -- nobodygoes on hoping for something which is already visible.	24 Porque nuestra salvación es en esperanza; y una esperanza que se ve, no es esperanza, pues ¿cómo es posible esperar una cosa que se ve?
25 But having this hope for what we cannot yet see, we are able to wait for it with perseveringconfidence.	25 Pero esperar lo que no vemos, es aguardar con paciencia.
26 And as wel as this, the Spirit too comes to help us in our weakness, for, when we do not know how topray properly, then the Spirit personal y makes our petitions for us in groans that cannot be put into words;	26 Y de igual manera, el Espíritu viene en ayuda de nuestra flaqueza. Pues nosotros no sabemos cómo pedir para orar como conviene; mas el Espíritu mismo intercede por nosotros con gemidos inefables,
27 and he who can see into al hearts knows what the Spirit means because the prayers that the Spiritmakes for God's holy people are always in accordance with the mind of God.	27 y el que escruta los corazones conoce cuál es la aspiración del Espíritu, y que su intercesión a favor de los santos es según Dios.
28 We are wel aware that God works with those who love him, those who have been cal ed inaccordance with his purpose, and turns everything to their good.	28 Por lo demas, sabemos que en todas las cosas interviene Dios para bien de los que le aman; de aquellos que han sido llamados según su designio.
29 He decided beforehand who were the ones destined to be moulded to the pattern of his Son, so thathe should be the eldest of many brothers;	29 Pues a los que de antemano conoció, también los predestinó a reproducir la imagen de su Hijo, para que fuera él el primogenito entre muchos hermanos;
30 it was those so destined that he cal ed; those that he cal ed, he justified, and those that he hasjustified he has brought into glory.	30 y a los que predestinó, a ésos también los justificó; a los que justificó, a ésos también los glorificó.
31 After saying this, what can we add? If God is for us, who can be against us?	31 Ante esto ¿qué diremos? Si Dios está por nosotros ¿quién contra nosotros?
32 Since he did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for the sake of all of us, then can we not expectthat with him he wil freely give us al his gifts?	32 El que no perdonó ni a su propio Hijo, antes bien le entregó por todos nosotros, ¿cómo no nos dará con él graciosamente todas las cosas?
33 Who can bring any accusation against those that God has chosen? When God grants saving justice	33 ¿Quién acusará a los elegidos de Dios? Dios es quien justifica.
34 who can condemn? Are we not sure that it is Christ Jesus, who died -- yes and more, who was raised from the dead and is at God's right hand -- and who is adding his plea for us?	34 ¿Quién condenará? ¿Acaso Cristo Jesús, el que murió; más aún el que resucitó, el que está a la diestra de Dios, y que intercede por nosotros?
35 Can anything cut us off from the love of Christ -- can hardships or distress, or persecution, or lack offood and clothing, or threats or violence;	35 ¿Quién nos separará del amor de Cristo? ¿La tribulación?, ¿la angustia?, ¿la persecución?, ¿el hambre?, ¿la desnudez?, ¿los peligros?, ¿la espada?,
36 as scripture says: For your sake we are being massacred al day long, treated as sheep to beslaughtered?	36 como dice la Escritura: Por tu causa somos muertos todo el día; tratados como ovejas destinadas al matadero.
37 No; we come through al these things triumphantly victorious, by the power of him who loved us.	37 Pero en todo esto salimos vencedores gracias a aquel que nos amó.
38 For I am certain of this: neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nothing already inexistence and nothing stil to come, nor any power,	38 Pues estoy seguro de que ni la muerte ni la vida ni los ángeles ni los principados ni lo presente ni lo futuro ni las potestades
39 nor the heights nor the depths, nor any created thing whatever, wil be able to come between us andthe love of God, known to us in Christ Jesus our Lord.	39 ni la altura ni la profundidad ni otra criatura alguna podrá separarnos del amor de Dios manifestado en Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro.
