Romans 8

1 Thus, condemnation wil never come to those who are in Christ Jesus,	1 Ora, dunque, non c’è nessuna condanna per quelli che sono in Cristo Gesù.
2 because the law of the Spirit which gives life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin anddeath.	2 Perché la legge dello Spirito, che dà vita in Cristo Gesù, ti ha liberato dalla legge del peccato e della morte.
3 What the Law could not do because of the weakness of human nature, God did, sending his own Sonin the same human nature as any sinner to be a sacrifice for sin, and condemning sin in that human nature.	3 Infatti ciò che era impossibile alla Legge, resa impotente a causa della carne, Dio lo ha reso possibile: mandando il proprio Figlio in una carne simile a quella del peccato e a motivo del peccato, egli ha condannato il peccato nella carne,
4 This was so that the Law's requirements might be fully satisfied in us as we direct our lives not by ournatural inclinations but by the Spirit.	4 perché la giustizia della Legge fosse compiuta in noi, che camminiamo non secondo la carne ma secondo lo Spirito.
5 Those who are living by their natural inclinations have their minds on the things human nature desires;those who live in the Spirit have their minds on spiritual things.	5 Quelli infatti che vivono secondo la carne, tendono verso ciò che è carnale; quelli invece che vivono secondo lo Spirito, tendono verso ciò che è spirituale.
6 And human nature has nothing to look forward to but death, while the Spirit looks forward to life andpeace,	6 Ora, la carne tende alla morte, mentre lo Spirito tende alla vita e alla pace.
7 because the outlook of disordered human nature is opposed to God, since it does not submit to God'sLaw, and indeed it cannot,	7 Ciò a cui tende la carne è contrario a Dio, perché non si sottomette alla legge di Dio, e neanche lo potrebbe.
8 and those who live by their natural inclinations can never be pleasing to God.	8 Quelli che si lasciano dominare dalla carne non possono piacere a Dio.
9 You, however, live not by your natural inclinations, but by the Spirit, since the Spirit of God has made ahome in you. Indeed, anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.	9 Voi però non siete sotto il dominio della carne, ma dello Spirito, dal momento che lo Spirito di Dio abita in voi. Se qualcuno non ha lo Spirito di Cristo, non gli appartiene.
10 But when Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin but the spirit is alive because you havebeen justified;	10 Ora, se Cristo è in voi, il vostro corpo è morto per il peccato, ma lo Spirito è vita per la giustizia.
11 and if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead has made his home in you, then he whoraised Christ Jesus from the dead wil give life to your own mortal bodies through his Spirit living in you.	11 E se lo Spirito di Dio, che ha risuscitato Gesù dai morti, abita in voi, colui che ha risuscitato Cristo dai morti darà la vita anche ai vostri corpi mortali per mezzo del suo Spirito che abita in voi.
12 So then, my brothers, we have no obligation to human nature to be dominated by it.	12 Così dunque, fratelli, noi siamo debitori non verso la carne, per vivere secondo i desideri carnali,
13 If you do live in that way, you are doomed to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the habitsoriginating in the body, you will have life.	13 perché, se vivete secondo la carne, morirete. Se, invece, mediante lo Spirito fate morire le opere del corpo, vivrete.
14 Al who are guided by the Spirit of God are sons of God;	14 Infatti tutti quelli che sono guidati dallo Spirito di Dio, questi sono figli di Dio.
15 for what you received was not the spirit of slavery to bring you back into fear; you received the Spiritof adoption, enabling us to cry out, 'Abba, Father!'	15 E voi non avete ricevuto uno spirito da schiavi per ricadere nella paura, ma avete ricevuto lo Spirito che rende figli adottivi, per mezzo del quale gridiamo: «Abbà! Padre!».
16 The Spirit himself joins with our spirit to bear witness that we are children of God.	16 Lo Spirito stesso, insieme al nostro spirito, attesta che siamo figli di Dio.
17 And if we are children, then we are heirs, heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, provided that weshare his suffering, so as to share his glory.	17 E se siamo figli, siamo anche eredi: eredi di Dio, coeredi di Cristo, se davvero prendiamo parte alle sue sofferenze per partecipare anche alla sua gloria.
18 In my estimation, al that we suffer in the present time is nothing in comparison with the glory which isdestined to be disclosed for us,	18 Ritengo infatti che le sofferenze del tempo presente non siano paragonabili alla gloria futura che sarà rivelata in noi.
19 for the whole creation is waiting with eagerness for the children of God to be revealed.	19 L’ardente aspettativa della creazione, infatti, è protesa verso la rivelazione dei figli di Dio.
20 It was not for its own purposes that creation had frustration imposed on it, but for the purposes of himwho imposed it-	20 La creazione infatti è stata sottoposta alla caducità – non per sua volontà, ma per volontà di colui che l’ha sottoposta – nella speranza
21 with the intention that the whole creation itself might be freed from its slavery to corruption andbrought into the same glorious freedom as the children of God.	21 che anche la stessa creazione sarà liberata dalla schiavitù della corruzione per entrare nella libertà della gloria dei figli di Dio.
22 We are wel aware that the whole creation, until this time, has been groaning in labour pains.	22 Sappiamo infatti che tutta insieme la creazione geme e soffre le doglie del parto fino ad oggi.
23 And not only that: we too, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we are groaning insideourselves, waiting with eagerness for our bodies to be set free.	23 Non solo, ma anche noi, che possediamo le primizie dello Spirito, gemiamo interiormente aspettando l’adozione a figli, la redenzione del nostro corpo.
24 In hope, we already have salvation; in hope, not visibly present, or we should not be hoping -- nobodygoes on hoping for something which is already visible.	24 Nella speranza infatti siamo stati salvati. Ora, ciò che si spera, se è visto, non è più oggetto di speranza; infatti, ciò che uno già vede, come potrebbe sperarlo?
25 But having this hope for what we cannot yet see, we are able to wait for it with perseveringconfidence.	25 Ma, se speriamo quello che non vediamo, lo attendiamo con perseveranza.
26 And as wel as this, the Spirit too comes to help us in our weakness, for, when we do not know how topray properly, then the Spirit personal y makes our petitions for us in groans that cannot be put into words;	26 Allo stesso modo anche lo Spirito viene in aiuto alla nostra debolezza; non sappiamo infatti come pregare in modo conveniente, ma lo Spirito stesso intercede con gemiti inesprimibili;
27 and he who can see into al hearts knows what the Spirit means because the prayers that the Spiritmakes for God's holy people are always in accordance with the mind of God.	27 e colui che scruta i cuori sa che cosa desidera lo Spirito, perché egli intercede per i santi secondo i disegni di Dio.
28 We are wel aware that God works with those who love him, those who have been cal ed inaccordance with his purpose, and turns everything to their good.	28 Del resto, noi sappiamo che tutto concorre al bene, per quelli che amano Dio, per coloro che sono stati chiamati secondo il suo disegno.
29 He decided beforehand who were the ones destined to be moulded to the pattern of his Son, so thathe should be the eldest of many brothers;	29 Poiché quelli che egli da sempre ha conosciuto, li ha anche predestinati a essere conformi all’immagine del Figlio suo, perché egli sia il primogenito tra molti fratelli;
30 it was those so destined that he cal ed; those that he cal ed, he justified, and those that he hasjustified he has brought into glory.	30 quelli poi che ha predestinato, li ha anche chiamati; quelli che ha chiamato, li ha anche giustificati; quelli che ha giustificato, li ha anche glorificati.
31 After saying this, what can we add? If God is for us, who can be against us?	31 Che diremo dunque di queste cose? Se Dio è per noi, chi sarà contro di noi?
32 Since he did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for the sake of all of us, then can we not expectthat with him he wil freely give us al his gifts?	32 Egli, che non ha risparmiato il proprio Figlio, ma lo ha consegnato per tutti noi, non ci donerà forse ogni cosa insieme a lui?
33 Who can bring any accusation against those that God has chosen? When God grants saving justice	33 Chi muoverà accuse contro coloro che Dio ha scelto? Dio è colui che giustifica!
34 who can condemn? Are we not sure that it is Christ Jesus, who died -- yes and more, who was raised from the dead and is at God's right hand -- and who is adding his plea for us?	34 Chi condannerà? Cristo Gesù è morto, anzi è risorto, sta alla destra di Dio e intercede per noi!
35 Can anything cut us off from the love of Christ -- can hardships or distress, or persecution, or lack offood and clothing, or threats or violence;	35 Chi ci separerà dall’amore di Cristo? Forse la tribolazione, l’angoscia, la persecuzione, la fame, la nudità, il pericolo, la spada?
36 as scripture says: For your sake we are being massacred al day long, treated as sheep to beslaughtered?	36 Come sta scritto: Per causa tua siamo messi a morte tutto il giorno, siamo considerati come pecore da macello.
37 No; we come through al these things triumphantly victorious, by the power of him who loved us.	37 Ma in tutte queste cose noi siamo più che vincitori grazie a colui che ci ha amati.
38 For I am certain of this: neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nothing already inexistence and nothing stil to come, nor any power,	38 Io sono infatti persuaso che né morte né vita, né angeli né principati, né presente né avvenire, né potenze,
39 nor the heights nor the depths, nor any created thing whatever, wil be able to come between us andthe love of God, known to us in Christ Jesus our Lord.	39 né altezza né profondità, né alcun’altra creatura potrà mai separarci dall’amore di Dio, che è in Cristo Gesù, nostro Signore.
