John 4

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 When Jesus heard that the Pharisees had found out that he was making and baptising more disciplesthan John-	1 فلما علم الرب ان الفريسيين سمعوا ان يسوع يصيّر ويعمد تلاميذ اكثر من يوحنا.
2 though in fact it was his disciples who baptised, not Jesus himself-	2 مع ان يسوع نفسه لم يكن يعمد بل تلاميذه.
3 he left Judaea and went back to Galilee.	3 ترك اليهودية ومضى ايضا الى الجليل.
4 He had to pass through Samaria.	4 وكان لا بد له ان يجتاز السامرة.
5 On the way he came to the Samaritan town cal ed Sychar near the land that Jacob gave to his sonJoseph.	5 فأتى الى مدينة من السامرة يقال لها سوخار بقرب الضيعة التي وهبها يعقوب ليوسف ابنه.
6 Jacob's wel was there and Jesus, tired by the journey, sat down by the wel . It was about the sixth hour.	6 وكانت هناك بئر يعقوب. فاذ كان يسوع قد تعب من السفر جلس هكذا على البئر. وكان نحو الساعة السادسة.
7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, 'Give me something to drink.'	7 فجاءت امرأة من السامرة لتستقي ماء. فقال لها يسوع اعطيني لاشرب.
8 His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.	8 لان تلاميذه كانوا قد مضوا الى المدينة ليبتاعوا طعاما.
9 The Samaritan woman said to him, 'You are a Jew. How is it that you ask me, a Samaritan, forsomething to drink?' -- Jews, of course, do not associate with Samaritans.	9 فقالت له المرأة السامرية كيف تطلب مني لتشرب وانت يهودي وانا امرأة سامرية. لان اليهود لا يعاملون السامريين.
10 Jesus replied to her: If you only knew what God is offering and who it is that is saying to you, 'Give mesomething to drink,' you would have been the one to ask, and he would have given you living water.	10 اجاب يسوع وقال لها لو كنت تعلمين عطية الله ومن هو الذي يقول لك اعطيني لاشرب لطلبت انت منه فاعطاك ماء حيّا.
11 'You have no bucket, sir,' she answered, 'and the well is deep: how do you get this living water?	11 قالت له المرأة يا سيد لا دلو لك والبئر عميقة. فمن اين لك الماء الحي.
12 Are you a greater man than our father Jacob, who gave us this wel and drank from it himself with hissons and his cattle?'	12 ألعلك اعظم من ابينا يعقوب الذي اعطانا البئر وشرب منها هو وبنوه ومواشيه.
13 Jesus replied: Whoever drinks this water wil be thirsty again;	13 اجاب يسوع وقال لها. كل من يشرب من هذا الماء يعطش ايضا.
14 but no one who drinks the water that I shal give wil ever be thirsty again: the water that I shal give wil become a spring of water within, welling up for eternal life.	14 ولكن من يشرب من الماء الذي اعطيه انا فلن يعطش الى الابد. بل الماء الذي اعطيه يصير فيه ينبوع ماء ينبع الى حياة ابدية.
15 'Sir,' said the woman, 'give me some of that water, so that I may never be thirsty or come here again todraw water.'	15 قالت له المرأة يا سيد اعطني هذا الماء لكي لا اعطش ولا آتي الى هنا لاستقي.
16 'Go and call your husband,' said Jesus to her, 'and come back here.'	16 قال لها يسوع اذهبي وادعي زوجك وتعالي الى ههنا.
17 The woman answered, 'I have no husband.' Jesus said to her, 'You are right to say, "I have nohusband";	17 اجابت المرأة وقالت ليس لي زوج. قال لها يسوع حسنا قلت ليس لي زوج.
18 for although you have had five, the one you now have is not your husband. You spoke the truth there.'	18 لانه كان لك خمسة ازواج والذي لك الآن ليس هو زوجك. هذا قلت بالصدق.
19 'I see you are a prophet, sir,' said the woman.	19 قالت له المرأة يا سيد ارى انك نبي.
20 'Our fathers worshipped on this mountain, though you say that Jerusalem is the place where one oughtto worship.'	20 آباؤنا سجدوا في هذا الجبل وانتم تقولون ان في اورشليم الموضع الذي ينبغي ان يسجد فيه.
21 Jesus said: Believe me, woman, the hour is coming when you wil worship the Father neither on thismountain nor in Jerusalem.	21 قال لها يسوع يا امرأة صدقيني انه تأتي ساعة لا في هذا الجبل ولا في اورشليم تسجدون للآب.
22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know; for salvation comes from the Jews.	22 انتم تسجدون لما لستم تعلمون. اما نحن فنسجد لما نعلم. لان الخلاص هو من اليهود.
23 But the hour is coming -- indeed is already here -- when true worshippers wil worship the Father inspirit and truth: that is the kind of worshipper the Father seeks.	23 ولكن تأتي ساعة وهي الآن حين الساجدون الحقيقيون يسجدون للآب بالروح والحق. لان الآب طالب مثل هؤلاء الساجدين له.
24 God is spirit, and those who worship must worship in spirit and truth.	24 الله روح. والذين يسجدون له فبالروح والحق ينبغي ان يسجدوا.
25 The woman said to him, 'I know that Messiah -- that is, Christ -- is coming; and when he comes he wilexplain everything.'	25 قالت له المرأة انا اعلم ان مسيا الذي يقال له المسيح يأتي. فمتى جاء ذاك يخبرنا بكل شيء.
26 Jesus said, 'That is who I am, I who speak to you.'	26 قال لها يسوع انا الذي اكلمك هو
27 At this point his disciples returned and were surprised to find him speaking to a woman, though noneof them asked, 'What do you want from her?' or, 'What are you talking to her about?'	27 وعند ذلك جاء تلاميذه وكانوا يتعجبون انه يتكلم مع امرأة. ولكن لم يقل احد ماذا تطلب او لماذا تتكلم معها.
28 The woman put down her water jar and hurried back to the town to tel the people,	28 فتركت المرأة جرتها ومضت الى المدينة وقالت للناس
29 'Come and see a man who has told me everything I have done; could this be the Christ?'	29 هلموا انظروا انسانا قال لي كل ما فعلت. ألعل هذا هو المسيح.
30 This brought people out of the town and they made their way towards him.	30 فخرجوا من المدينة وأتوا اليه
31 Meanwhile, the disciples were urging him, 'Rabbi, do have something to eat';	31 وفي اثناء ذلك سأله تلاميذه قائلين يا معلّم كل.
32 but he said, 'I have food to eat that you do not know about.'	32 فقال لهم انا لي طعام لآكل لستم تعرفونه انتم.
33 So the disciples said to one another, 'Has someone brought him food?'	33 فقال التلاميذ بعضهم لبعض ألعل احدا اتاه بشيء ليأكل.
34 But Jesus said: My food is to do the will of the one who sent me, and to complete his work.	34 قال لهم يسوع طعامي ان اعمل مشيئة الذي ارسلني واتمم عمله.
35 Do you not have a saying: Four months and then the harvest? Wel , I tel you, look around you, look atthe fields; already they are white, ready for harvest!	35 أما تقولون انه يكون اربعة اشهر ثم يأتي الحصاد. ها انا اقول لكم ارفعوا اعينكم وانظروا الحقول انها قد ابيضّت للحصاد.
36 Already the reaper is being paid his wages, already he is bringing in the grain for eternal life, so thatsower and reaper can rejoice together.	36 والحاصد يأخذ اجرة ويجمع ثمرا للحياة الابدية لكي يفرح الزارع والحاصد معا.
37 For here the proverb holds true: one sows, another reaps;	37 لانه في هذا يصدق القول ان واحدا يزرع وآخر يحصد.
38 I sent you to reap a harvest you have not laboured for. Others have laboured for it; and you have comeinto the rewards of their labour.	38 انا ارسلتكم لتحصدوا ما لم تتعبوا فيه. آخرون تعبوا وانتم قد دخلتم على تعبهم
39 Many Samaritans of that town believed in him on the strength of the woman's words of testimony, 'Hetold me everything I have done.'	39 فآمن به من تلك المدينة كثيرون من السامريين بسبب كلام المرأة التي كانت تشهد انه قال لي كل ما فعلت.
40 So, when the Samaritans came up to him, they begged him to stay with them. He stayed for two days,and	40 فلما جاء اليه السامريون سألوه ان يمكث عندهم. فمكث هناك يومين.
41 many more came to believe on the strength of the words he spoke to them;	41 فآمن به اكثر جدا بسبب كلامه.
42 and they said to the woman, 'Now we believe no longer because of what you told us; we have heardhim ourselves and we know that he is indeed the Saviour of the world.'	42 وقالوا للمرأة اننا لسنا بعد بسبب كلامك نؤمن. لاننا نحن قد سمعنا ونعلم ان هذا هو بالحقيقة المسيح مخلّص العالم
43 When the two days were over Jesus left for Galilee.	43 وبعد اليومين خرج من هناك ومضى الى الجليل.
44 He himself had declared that a prophet is not honoured in his own home town.	44 لان يسوع نفسه شهد ان ليس لنبي كرامة في وطنه.
45 On his arrival the Galileans received him wel , having seen al that he had done at Jerusalem duringthe festival which they too had attended.	45 فلما جاء الى الجليل قبله الجليليون اذ كانوا قد عاينوا كل ما فعل في اورشليم في العيد. لانهم هم ايضا جاءوا الى العيد.
46 He went again to Cana in Galilee, where he had changed the water into wine. And there was a royalofficial whose son was il at Capernaum;	46 فجاء يسوع ايضا الى قانا الجليل حيث صنع الماء خمرا. وكان خادم للملك ابنه مريض في كفرناحوم.
47 hearing that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judaea, he went and asked him to come and cure hisson, as he was at the point of death.	47 هذا اذ سمع ان يسوع قد جاء من اليهودية الى الجليل انطلق اليه وسأله ان ينزل ويشفي ابنه لانه كان مشرفا على الموت.
48 Jesus said to him, 'Unless you see signs and portents you will not believe!'	48 فقال له يسوع لا تؤمنون ان لم تروا آيات وعجائب.
49 'Sir,' answered the official, 'come down before my child dies.'	49 قال له خادم الملك يا سيد انزل قبل ان يموت ابني.
50 'Go home,' said Jesus, 'your son wil live.' The man believed what Jesus had said and went on his wayhome;	50 قال له يسوع اذهب. ابنك حيّ. فآمن الرجل بالكلمة التي قالها له يسوع وذهب.
51 and while he was stil on the way his servants met him with the news that his boy was alive.	51 وفيما هو نازل استقبله عبيده واخبروه قائلين ان ابنك حيّ.
52 He asked them when the boy had begun to recover. They replied, 'The fever left him yesterday at theseventh hour.'	52 فاستخبرهم عن الساعة التي فيها اخذ يتعافى فقالوا له امس في الساعة السابعة تركته الحمى.
53 The father realised that this was exactly the time when Jesus had said, 'Your son wil live'; and he andal his household believed.	53 ففهم الاب انه في تلك الساعة التي قال له فيها يسوع ان ابنك حيّ. فآمن هو وبيته كله.
54 This new sign, the second, Jesus performed on his return from Judaea to Galilee.	54 هذه ايضا آية ثانية صنعها يسوع لما جاء من اليهودية الى الجليل
