NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 When Jesus heard that the Pharisees had found out that he was making and baptising more disciplesthan John-	1 Jesus erfuhr, dass die Pharisäer gehört hatten, er gewinne und taufe mehr Jünger als Johannes -
2 though in fact it was his disciples who baptised, not Jesus himself-	2 allerdings taufte nicht Jesus selbst, sondern seine Jünger -;
3 he left Judaea and went back to Galilee.	3 daraufhin verließ er Judäa und ging wieder nach Galiläa.
4 He had to pass through Samaria.	4 Er musste aber den Weg durch Samarien nehmen.
5 On the way he came to the Samaritan town cal ed Sychar near the land that Jacob gave to his sonJoseph.	5 So kam er zu einem Ort in Samarien, der Sychar hieß und nahe bei dem Grundstück lag, das Jakob seinem Sohn Josef vermacht hatte.
6 Jacob's wel was there and Jesus, tired by the journey, sat down by the wel . It was about the sixth hour.	6 Dort befand sich der Jakobsbrunnen. Jesus war müde von der Reise und setzte sich daher an den Brunnen; es war um die sechste Stunde.
7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, 'Give me something to drink.'	7 Da kam eine samaritische Frau, um Wasser zu schöpfen. Jesus sagte zu ihr: Gib mir zu trinken!
8 His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.	8 Seine Jünger waren nämlich in den Ort gegangen, um etwas zum Essen zu kaufen.
9 The Samaritan woman said to him, 'You are a Jew. How is it that you ask me, a Samaritan, forsomething to drink?' -- Jews, of course, do not associate with Samaritans.	9 Die samaritische Frau sagte zu ihm: Wie kannst du als Jude mich, eine Samariterin, um Wasser bitten? Die Juden verkehren nämlich nicht mit den Samaritern.
10 Jesus replied to her: If you only knew what God is offering and who it is that is saying to you, 'Give mesomething to drink,' you would have been the one to ask, and he would have given you living water.	10 Jesus antwortete ihr: Wenn du wüsstest, worin die Gabe Gottes besteht und wer es ist, der zu dir sagt: Gib mir zu trinken!, dann hättest du ihn gebeten, und er hätte dir lebendiges Wasser gegeben.
11 'You have no bucket, sir,' she answered, 'and the well is deep: how do you get this living water?	11 Sie sagte zu ihm: Herr, du hast kein Schöpfgefäß, und der Brunnen ist tief; woher hast du also das lebendige Wasser?
12 Are you a greater man than our father Jacob, who gave us this wel and drank from it himself with hissons and his cattle?'	12 Bist du etwa größer als unser Vater Jakob, der uns den Brunnen gegeben und selbst daraus getrunken hat, wie seine Söhne und seine Herden?
13 Jesus replied: Whoever drinks this water wil be thirsty again;	13 Jesus antwortete ihr: Wer von diesem Wasser trinkt, wird wieder Durst bekommen;
14 but no one who drinks the water that I shal give wil ever be thirsty again: the water that I shal give wil become a spring of water within, welling up for eternal life.	14 wer aber von dem Wasser trinkt, das ich ihm geben werde, wird niemals mehr Durst haben; vielmehr wird das Wasser, das ich ihm gebe, in ihm zur sprudelnden Quelle werden, deren Wasser ewiges Leben schenkt.
15 'Sir,' said the woman, 'give me some of that water, so that I may never be thirsty or come here again todraw water.'	15 Da sagte die Frau zu ihm: Herr, gib mir dieses Wasser, damit ich keinen Durst mehr habe und nicht mehr hierher kommen muss, um Wasser zu schöpfen.
16 'Go and call your husband,' said Jesus to her, 'and come back here.'	16 Er sagte zu ihr: Geh, ruf deinen Mann und komm wieder her!
17 The woman answered, 'I have no husband.' Jesus said to her, 'You are right to say, "I have nohusband";	17 Die Frau antwortete: Ich habe keinen Mann. Jesus sagte zu ihr: Du hast richtig gesagt: Ich habe keinen Mann.
18 for although you have had five, the one you now have is not your husband. You spoke the truth there.'	18 Denn fünf Männer hast du gehabt und der, den du jetzt hast, ist nicht dein Mann. Damit hast du die Wahrheit gesagt.
19 'I see you are a prophet, sir,' said the woman.	19 Die Frau sagte zu ihm: Herr, ich sehe, dass du ein Prophet bist.
20 'Our fathers worshipped on this mountain, though you say that Jerusalem is the place where one oughtto worship.'	20 Unsere Väter haben auf diesem Berg Gott angebetet; ihr aber sagt, in Jerusalem sei die Stätte, wo man anbeten muss.
21 Jesus said: Believe me, woman, the hour is coming when you wil worship the Father neither on thismountain nor in Jerusalem.	21 Jesus sprach zu ihr: Glaube mir, Frau, die Stunde kommt, zu der ihr weder auf diesem Berg noch in Jerusalem den Vater anbeten werdet.
22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know; for salvation comes from the Jews.	22 Ihr betet an, was ihr nicht kennt, wir beten an, was wir kennen; denn das Heil kommt von den Juden.
23 But the hour is coming -- indeed is already here -- when true worshippers wil worship the Father inspirit and truth: that is the kind of worshipper the Father seeks.	23 Aber die Stunde kommt und sie ist schon da, zu der die wahren Beter den Vater anbeten werden im Geist und in der Wahrheit; denn so will der Vater angebetet werden.
24 God is spirit, and those who worship must worship in spirit and truth.	24 Gott ist Geist und alle, die ihn anbeten, müssen im Geist und in der Wahrheit anbeten.
25 The woman said to him, 'I know that Messiah -- that is, Christ -- is coming; and when he comes he wilexplain everything.'	25 Die Frau sagte zu ihm: Ich weiß, dass der Messias kommt, das ist: der Gesalbte (Christus). Wenn er kommt, wird er uns alles verkünden.
26 Jesus said, 'That is who I am, I who speak to you.'	26 Da sagte Jesus zu ihr: Ich bin es, ich, der mit dir spricht.
27 At this point his disciples returned and were surprised to find him speaking to a woman, though noneof them asked, 'What do you want from her?' or, 'What are you talking to her about?'	27 Inzwischen waren seine Jünger zurückgekommen. Sie wunderten sich, dass er mit einer Frau sprach, aber keiner sagte: Was willst du?, oder: Was redest du mit ihr?
28 The woman put down her water jar and hurried back to the town to tel the people,	28 Da ließ die Frau ihren Wasserkrug stehen, eilte in den Ort und sagte zu den Leuten:
29 'Come and see a man who has told me everything I have done; could this be the Christ?'	29 Kommt her, seht, da ist ein Mann, der mir alles gesagt hat, was ich getan habe: Ist er vielleicht der Messias?
30 This brought people out of the town and they made their way towards him.	30 Da liefen sie hinaus aus dem Ort und gingen zu Jesus.
31 Meanwhile, the disciples were urging him, 'Rabbi, do have something to eat';	31 Währenddessen drängten ihn seine Jünger: Rabbi, iss!
32 but he said, 'I have food to eat that you do not know about.'	32 Er aber sagte zu ihnen: Ich lebe von einer Speise, die ihr nicht kennt.
33 So the disciples said to one another, 'Has someone brought him food?'	33 Da sagten die Jünger zueinander: Hat ihm jemand etwas zu essen gebracht?
34 But Jesus said: My food is to do the will of the one who sent me, and to complete his work.	34 Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Meine Speise ist es, den Willen dessen zu tun, der mich gesandt hat, und sein Werk zu Ende zu führen.
35 Do you not have a saying: Four months and then the harvest? Wel , I tel you, look around you, look atthe fields; already they are white, ready for harvest!	35 Sagt ihr nicht: Noch vier Monate dauert es bis zur Ernte? Ich aber sage euch: Blickt umher und seht, dass die Felder weiß sind, reif zur Ernte.
36 Already the reaper is being paid his wages, already he is bringing in the grain for eternal life, so thatsower and reaper can rejoice together.	36 Schon empfängt der Schnitter seinen Lohn und sammelt Frucht für das ewige Leben, so dass sich der Sämann und der Schnitter gemeinsam freuen.
37 For here the proverb holds true: one sows, another reaps;	37 Denn hier hat das Sprichwort recht: Einer sät und ein anderer erntet.
38 I sent you to reap a harvest you have not laboured for. Others have laboured for it; and you have comeinto the rewards of their labour.	38 Ich habe euch gesandt zu ernten, wofür ihr nicht gearbeitet habt; andere haben gearbeitet und ihr erntet die Frucht ihrer Arbeit.
39 Many Samaritans of that town believed in him on the strength of the woman's words of testimony, 'Hetold me everything I have done.'	39 Viele Samariter aus jenem Ort kamen zum Glauben an Jesus auf das Wort der Frau hin, die bezeugt hatte: Er hat mir alles gesagt, was ich getan habe.
40 So, when the Samaritans came up to him, they begged him to stay with them. He stayed for two days,and	40 Als die Samariter zu ihm kamen, baten sie ihn, bei ihnen zu bleiben; und er blieb dort zwei Tage.
41 many more came to believe on the strength of the words he spoke to them;	41 Und noch viel mehr Leute kamen zum Glauben an ihn aufgrund seiner eigenen Worte.
42 and they said to the woman, 'Now we believe no longer because of what you told us; we have heardhim ourselves and we know that he is indeed the Saviour of the world.'	42 Und zu der Frau sagten sie: Nicht mehr aufgrund deiner Aussage glauben wir, sondern weil wir ihn selbst gehört haben und nun wissen: Er ist wirklich der Retter der Welt.
43 When the two days were over Jesus left for Galilee.	43 Nach diesen beiden Tagen ging er von dort nach Galiläa.
44 He himself had declared that a prophet is not honoured in his own home town.	44 Jesus selbst hatte nämlich bestätigt: Ein Prophet wird in seiner eigenen Heimat nicht geehrt.
45 On his arrival the Galileans received him wel , having seen al that he had done at Jerusalem duringthe festival which they too had attended.	45 Als er nun nach Galiläa kam, nahmen ihn die Galiläer auf, weil sie alles gesehen hatten, was er in Jerusalem während des Festes getan hatte; denn auch sie waren zum Fest gekommen.
46 He went again to Cana in Galilee, where he had changed the water into wine. And there was a royalofficial whose son was il at Capernaum;	46 Jesus kam wieder nach Kana in Galiläa, wo er das Wasser in Wein verwandelt hatte. In Kafarnaum lebte ein königlicher Beamter; dessen Sohn war krank.
47 hearing that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judaea, he went and asked him to come and cure hisson, as he was at the point of death.	47 Als er hörte, dass Jesus von Judäa nach Galiläa gekommen war, suchte er ihn auf und bat ihn, herabzukommen und seinen Sohn zu heilen; denn er lag im Sterben.
48 Jesus said to him, 'Unless you see signs and portents you will not believe!'	48 Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: Wenn ihr nicht Zeichen und Wunder seht, glaubt ihr nicht.
49 'Sir,' answered the official, 'come down before my child dies.'	49 Der Beamte bat ihn: Herr, komm herab, ehe mein Kind stirbt.
50 'Go home,' said Jesus, 'your son wil live.' The man believed what Jesus had said and went on his wayhome;	50 Jesus erwiderte ihm: Geh, dein Sohn lebt! Der Mann glaubte dem Wort, das Jesus zu ihm gesagt hatte, und machte sich auf den Weg.
51 and while he was stil on the way his servants met him with the news that his boy was alive.	51 Noch während er unterwegs war, kamen ihm seine Diener entgegen und sagten: Dein Junge lebt.
52 He asked them when the boy had begun to recover. They replied, 'The fever left him yesterday at theseventh hour.'	52 Da fragte er sie genau nach der Stunde, in der die Besserung eingetreten war. Sie antworteten: Gestern in der siebten Stunde ist das Fieber von ihm gewichen.
53 The father realised that this was exactly the time when Jesus had said, 'Your son wil live'; and he andal his household believed.	53 Da erkannte der Vater, dass es genau zu der Stunde war, als Jesus zu ihm gesagt hatte: Dein Sohn lebt. Und er wurde gläubig mit seinem ganzen Haus.
54 This new sign, the second, Jesus performed on his return from Judaea to Galilee.	54 So tat Jesus sein zweites Zeichen, und zwar nachdem er von Judäa nach Galiläa gekommen war.
