NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 They reached the territory of the Gerasenes on the other side of the lake,	1 Nemsokára átjutottak a tengeren túlra a gerázaiak földjére.
2 and when he disembarked, a man with an unclean spirit at once came out from the tombs towards him.	2 Amint kilépett a bárkából, mindjárt elébe ment egy ember a sírok közül, aki a tisztátalan lélek hatalmában volt
3 The man lived in the tombs and no one could secure him any more, even with a chain,	3 és sírboltokban lakott. Már láncokkal sem tudták megkötözni.
4 because he had often been secured with fetters and chains but had snapped the chains and broken thefetters, and no one had the strength to control him.	4 Sokszor béklyóba és láncra verték, de elszakította a láncokat, összetörte a bilincseket, és senki sem tudta őt megfékezni.
5 All night and al day, among the tombs and in the mountains, he would howl and gash himself withstones.	5 Éjjel-nappal mindig a sírboltokban és a hegyekben tanyázott, kiáltozott és kövekkel roncsolta magát.
6 Catching sight of Jesus from a distance, he ran up and fel at his feet	6 Amikor messziről meglátta Jézust, odafutott, leborult előtte,
7 and shouted at the top of his voice, 'What do you want with me, Jesus, son of the Most High God? InGod's name do not torture me!'	7 és nagy hangon kiáltotta: »Mi közöm hozzád, Jézus, a magasságbeli Isten Fia? Az Istenre kényszerítlek, ne gyötörj engem!«
8 For Jesus had been saying to him, 'Come out of the man, unclean spirit.'	8 Ő ugyanis azt mondta neki: »Tisztátalan lélek, menj ki az emberből!«
9 Then he asked, 'What is your name?' He answered, 'My name is Legion, for there are many of us.'	9 Ekkor megkérdezte tőle: »Mi a neved?« Az így válaszolt neki: »Légió a nevem, mert sokan vagyunk.«
10 And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the district.	10 És könyörögve kérte őt, hogy ne űzze ki arról a vidékről.
11 Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding,	11 Volt ott a hegy körül a legelőn egy nagy disznócsorda.
12 and the unclean spirits begged him, 'Send us to the pigs, let us go into them.'	12 Az ördögök azt kérték tőle: »Küldj minket a disznókba, hadd menjünk beléjük.«
13 So he gave them leave. With that, the unclean spirits came out and went into the pigs, and the herd ofabout two thousand pigs charged down the cliff into the lake, and there they were drowned.	13 Jézus megengedte nekik. A tisztátalan lelkek kimentek és megszállták a disznókat. Erre a kétezernyi csorda a meredekről a tengerbe rohant, és belefulladt a tengerbe.
14 The men looking after them ran off and told their story in the city and in the country round about; andthe people came to see what had real y happened.	14 Akik legeltették őket, elfutottak, s hírül vitték ezt a városba és a falvakba. Az emberek kimentek, hogy lássák, mi történt.
15 They came to Jesus and saw the demoniac sitting there -- the man who had had the legion in him --properly dressed and in his ful senses, and they were afraid.	15 Jézushoz érve látták, hogy az ördögseregtől megszállott felöltözve, ép ésszel ül, és félelem fogta el őket.
16 And those who had witnessed it reported what had happened to the demoniac and what had becomeof the pigs.	16 A szemtanúk pedig elbeszélték nekik, hogy mi történt az ördöngössel és a disznókkal.
17 Then they began to implore Jesus to leave their neighbourhood.	17 Ezért kérni kezdték őt, hogy távozzék el a határukból.
18 As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed begged to be al owed to stay withhim.	18 Amikor beszállt a bárkába, az ember, aki megszállott volt, kérte őt, hogy vele mehessen.
19 Jesus would not let him but said to him, 'Go home to your people and tel them al that the Lord in hismercy has done for you.'	19 De Jézus nem engedte meg neki, hanem így szólt: »Menj haza a tieidhez, és hirdesd nekik, milyen nagy dolgot művelt veled az Úr, és hogyan könyörült meg rajtad!«
20 So the man went off and proceeded to proclaim in the Decapolis al that Jesus had done for him. Andeveryone was amazed.	20 Az el is ment, és elkezdte hirdetni a Tízvárosban, hogy Jézus milyen nagy dolgot cselekedett vele. És mindenki csodálkozott.
21 When Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered round him and hestayed by the lake.	21 Amikor Jézus ismét áthajózott a túlsó partra, nagy tömeg gyülekezett oda köré, ahol ő a tó partján volt.
22 Then the president of the synagogue came up, named Jairus, and seeing him, fel at his feet	22 Ekkor odajött hozzá egy zsinagóga-elöljáró, akit Jairusnak hívtak. Amikor meglátta őt, a lábaihoz borult,
23 and begged him earnestly, saying, 'My little daughter is desperately sick. Do come and lay your handson her that she may be saved and may live.'	23 és így esedezett hozzá: »A kislányom halálán van, jöjj, tedd rá kezedet, hogy meggyógyuljon és éljen!«
24 Jesus went with him and a large crowd followed him; they were pressing al round him.	24 El is ment vele. Nagy tömeg követte és szorongatta.
25 Now there was a woman who had suffered from a haemorrhage for twelve years;	25 Egy asszony, aki tizenkét esztendő óta vérfolyásos volt,
26 after long and painful treatment under various doctors, she had spent al she had without being anythe better for it; in fact, she was getting worse.	26 és sokat szenvedett a számtalan orvostól, elköltötte mindenét, de semmi hasznát nem látta, hanem még rosszabbul lett,
27 She had heard about Jesus, and she came up through the crowd and touched his cloak from behind,thinking,	27 amint Jézusról hallott, hátulról odament a tömegben és megérintette a ruháját.
28 'If I can just touch his clothes, I shal be saved.'	28 Azt gondolta: »Ha csak a ruháját érintem is, meggyógyulok.«
29 And at once the source of the bleeding dried up, and she felt in herself that she was cured of hercomplaint.	29 Valóban mindjárt megszűnt a vérfolyása, és érezte testében, hogy meggyógyult betegségétől.
30 And at once aware of the power that had gone out from him, Jesus turned round in the crowd andsaid, 'Who touched my clothes?'	30 De Jézus, aki azonnal észrevette, hogy erő ment ki belőle, a tömeghez fordult és megkérdezte: »Ki érintette meg a ruhámat?«
31 His disciples said to him, 'You see how the crowd is pressing round you; how can you ask, "Whotouched me?" '	31 Tanítványai azt felelték neki: »Látod, hogy mennyire szorongat téged a tömeg, és mégis kérdezed, ki érintett engem?«
32 But he continued to look al round to see who had done it.	32 Erre körültekintett, hogy lássa, ki volt az.
33 Then the woman came forward, frightened and trembling because she knew what had happened toher, and she fel at his feet and told him the whole truth.	33 Az asszony pedig, aki tudta, hogy mi történt vele, félve és remegve előjött, leborult előtte, és őszintén elmondott neki mindent.
34 'My daughter,' he said, 'your faith has restored you to health; go in peace and be free of yourcomplaint.'	34 Ő pedig ezt mondta neki: »Leányom! A hited meggyógyított téged. Menj békével, és légy mentes a bajodtól.«
35 While he was stil speaking some people arrived from the house of the president of the synagogue tosay, 'Your daughter is dead; why put the Master to any further trouble?'	35 Még beszélt, amikor jöttek a zsinagóga-elöljárótól, és azt mondták: »A lányod már meghalt. Minek fárasztanád tovább a Mestert?«
36 But Jesus overheard what they said and he said to the president of the synagogue, 'Do not be afraid;only have faith.'	36 Jézus meghallotta, hogy mit mondtak, és így szólt a zsinagóga-elöljáróhoz: »Ne félj, csak higgy!«
37 And he allowed no one to go with him except Peter and James and John the brother of James.	37 Nem engedte meg, hogy más vele menjen, csak Péter, Jakab és János, Jakab testvére.
38 So they came to the house of the president of the synagogue, and Jesus noticed al the commotion,with people weeping and wailing unrestrainedly.	38 Odaérkeztek a zsinagóga-elöljáró házához, ahol látta a tolongást, s a hevesen sírókat és jajgatókat.
39 He went in and said to them, 'Why all this commotion and crying? The child is not dead, but asleep.'	39 Bement, és azt mondta nekik: »Miért zajongtok és sírtok? Nem halt meg a gyermek, csak alszik.«
40 But they ridiculed him. So he turned them al out and, taking with him the child's father and mother andhis own companions, he went into the place where the child lay.	40 De azok kinevették. Ekkor elküldte onnan mindnyájukat, maga mellé vette a gyermek apját és anyját és a vele lévőket, és bement oda, ahol a gyermek feküdt.
41 And taking the child by the hand he said to her, 'Talitha kum!' which means, 'Little girl, I tel you to getup.'	41 Megfogta a gyermek kezét, és azt mondta neki: »Talíta, kúmi!« – ami azt jelenti: »Kislány, mondom neked, kelj fel!« –
42 The little girl got up at once and began to walk about, for she was twelve years old. At once they wereovercome with astonishment,	42 A kislány azonnal fölkelt és járkálni kezdett. Tizenkét esztendős volt ugyanis. Mindenki nagyon csodálkozott.
43 and he gave them strict orders not to let anyone know about it, and told them to give her something toeat.	43 Ő pedig szigorúan megparancsolta nekik, hogy ezt senki meg ne tudja; majd szólt nekik, hogy adjanak a lánynak enni.
