NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Another time he went into the synagogue, and there was a man present whose hand was withered.	1 Il entra de nouveau dans une synagogue, et il y avait là un homme qui avait la main desséchée.
2 And they were watching him to see if he would cure him on the Sabbath day, hoping for something tocharge him with.	2 Et ils l'épiaient pour voir s'il allait le guérir, le jour du sabbat, afin de l'accuser.
3 He said to the man with the withered hand, 'Get up and stand in the middle!'	3 Il dit à l'homme qui avait la main sèche: "Lève-toi, là, au milieu."
4 Then he said to them, 'Is it permitted on the Sabbath day to do good, or to do evil; to save life, or to kil ?'But they said nothing.	4 Et il leur dit: "Est-il permis, le jour du sabbat, de faire du bien plutôt que de faire du mal, de sauverune vie plutôt que de la tuer?" Mais eux se taisaient.
5 Then he looked angrily round at them, grieved to find them so obstinate, and said to the man, 'Stretchout your hand.' He stretched it out and his hand was restored.	5 Promenant alors sur eux un regard de colère, navré de l'endurcissement de leur coeur, il dit à l'homme:"Etends la main." Il l'étendit et sa main fut remise en état.
6 The Pharisees went out and began at once to plot with the Herodians against him, discussing how todestroy him.	6 Etant sortis, les Pharisiens tenaient aussitôt conseil avec les Hérodiens contre lui, en vue de le perdre.
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lakeside, and great crowds from Galilee fol owed him. FromJudaea,	7 Jésus avec ses disciples se retira vers la mer et une grande multitude le suivit de la Galilée; et de laJudée,
8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea and Transjordan and the region of Tyre and Sidon, greatnumbers who had heard of al he was doing came to him.	8 de Jérusalem, de l'Idumée, de la Transjordane, des environs de Tyr et de Sidon, une grande multitude,ayant entendu tout ce qu'il faisait, vint à lui.
9 And he asked his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, to keep him from beingcrushed.	9 Et il dit à ses disciples qu'une petite barque fût tenue à sa disposition, à cause de la foule, pour qu'ilsne l'écrasent pas.
10 For he had cured so many that al who were afflicted in any way were crowding forward to touch him.	10 Car il en guérit beaucoup, si bien que tous ceux qui avaient des infirmités se jetaient sur lui pour letoucher.
11 And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, would fal down before him and shout, 'You are theSon of God!'	11 Et les esprits impurs, lorsqu'ils le voyaient, se jetaient à ses pieds et criaient en disant: "Tu es le Filsde Dieu!"
12 But he warned them strongly not to make him known.	12 Et il leur enjoignait avec force de ne pas le faire connaître.
13 He now went up onto the mountain and summoned those he wanted. So they came to him	13 Puis il gravit la montagne et il appelle à lui ceux qu'il voulait. Ils vinrent à lui,
14 and he appointed twelve; they were to be his companions and to be sent out to proclaim the message,	14 et il en institua Douze pour être ses compagnons et pour les envoyer prêcher,
15 with power to drive out devils.	15 avec pouvoir de chasser les démons.
16 And so he appointed the Twelve, Simon to whom he gave the name Peter,	16 Il institua donc les Douze, et il donna à Simon le nom de Pierre,
17 James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, to whom he gave the name Boanerges or'Sons of Thunder';	17 puis Jacques, le fils de Zébédée, et Jean, le frère de Jacques, auxquels il donna le nom de Boanergès,c'est-à-dire fils du tonnerre,
18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon theZealot	18 puis André, Philippe, Barthélemy, Matthieu, Thomas, Jacques, le fils d'Alphée, Thaddée, Simon leZélé,
19 and Judas Iscariot, the man who was to betray him.	19 et Judas Iscarioth, celui-là même qui le livra.
20 He went home again, and once more such a crowd col ected that they could not even have a meal.	20 Il vient à la maison et de nouveau la foule se rassemble, au point qu'ils ne pouvaient pas mêmemanger de pain.
21 When his relations heard of this, they set out to take charge of him; they said, 'He is out of his mind.'	21 Et les siens, l'ayant appris, partirent pour se saisir de lui, car ils disaient: "Il a perdu le sens."
22 The scribes who had come down from Jerusalem were saying, 'Beelzebul is in him,' and, 'It is throughthe prince of devils that he drives devils out.'	22 Et les scribes qui étaient descendus de Jérusalem disaient: "Il est possédé de Béelzéboul", et encore:"C'est par le prince des démons qu'il expulse les démons."
23 So he cal ed them to him and spoke to them in parables,	23 Les ayant appelés près de lui, il leur disait en paraboles: "Comment Satan peut-il expulser Satan?
24 'How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot last.	24 Si un royaume est divisé contre lui-même, ce royaume-là ne peut subsister.
25 And if a household is divided against itself, that household can never last.	25 Et si une maison est divisée contre elle-même, cette maison-là ne pourra se maintenir.
26 Now if Satan has rebel ed against himself and is divided, he cannot last either -- it is the end of him.	26 Or, si Satan s'est dressé contre lui-même et s'est divisé, il ne peut pas tenir, il est fini.
27 But no one can make his way into a strong man's house and plunder his property unless he has firsttied up the strong man. Only then can he plunder his house.	27 Mais nul ne peut pénétrer dans la maison d'un homme fort et piller ses affaires s'il n'a d'abord ligotécet homme fort, et alors il pillera sa maison.
28 'In truth I tel you, al human sins will be forgiven, and al the blasphemies ever uttered;	28 "En vérité, je vous le dis, tout sera remis aux enfants des hommes, les péchés et les blasphèmes tantqu'il en auront proféré;
29 but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, but is guilty of an eternalsin.'	29 mais quiconque aura blasphémé contre l'Esprit Saint n'aura jamais de rémission: il est coupable d'unefaute éternelle."
30 This was because they were saying, 'There is an unclean spirit in him.'	30 C'est qu'ils disaient: "Il est possédé d'un esprit impur."
31 Now his mother and his brothers arrived and, standing outside, sent in a message asking for him.	31 Sa mère et ses frères arrivent et, se tenant dehors, ils le firent appeler.
32 A crowd was sitting round him at the time the message was passed to him, 'Look, your mother andbrothers and sisters are outside asking for you.'	32 Il y avait une foule assise autour de lui et on lui dit: "Voilà que ta mère et tes frères et tes soeurs sontlà dehors qui te cherchent."
33 He replied, 'Who are my mother and my brothers?'	33 Il leur répond: "Qui est ma mère? Et mes frères?"
34 And looking at those sitting in a circle round him, he said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers.	34 Et, promenant son regard sur ceux qui étaient assis en rond autour de lui, il dit: "Voici ma mère etmes frères.
35 Anyone who does the wil of God, that person is my brother and sister and mother.'	35 Quiconque fait la volonté de Dieu, celui-là m'est un frère et une soeur et une mère."
