1 Another time he went into the synagogue, and there was a man present whose hand was withered.	1 De nouveau Jésus entra dans une synagogue; il y avait là un homme à la main paralysée.
2 And they were watching him to see if he would cure him on the Sabbath day, hoping for something tocharge him with.	2 Des gens l’observaient, se demandant s’il allait le guérir un jour de sabbat: ils étaient prêts à le dénoncer.
3 He said to the man with the withered hand, 'Get up and stand in the middle!'	3 Jésus dit à l’homme qui avait la main paralysée: "Lève-toi et viens au milieu.”
4 Then he said to them, 'Is it permitted on the Sabbath day to do good, or to do evil; to save life, or to kil ?'But they said nothing.	4 Puis il leur dit: "Qu’est-ce qui est permis le jour du sabbat, faire du bien ou faire du mal, sauver une vie ou la laisser perdre?” Eux se taisent.
5 Then he looked angrily round at them, grieved to find them so obstinate, and said to the man, 'Stretchout your hand.' He stretched it out and his hand was restored.	5 Jésus les regarde l’un après l’autre avec colère, peiné de voir comme ils avaient la tête dure, puis il dit à l’homme: "Étends la main.” Celui-ci l’étend, sa main est guérie.
6 The Pharisees went out and began at once to plot with the Herodians against him, discussing how todestroy him.	6 Mais alors les Pharisiens sortent, et ils tiennent conseil avec les Hérodiens pour voir comment se défaire de Jésus.
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lakeside, and great crowds from Galilee fol owed him. FromJudaea,	7 Jésus s’éloigna avec ses disciples en direction de la mer. Un nombre impressionnant de Galiléens le suivit;
8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea and Transjordan and the region of Tyre and Sidon, greatnumbers who had heard of al he was doing came to him.	8 toute une foule vint à lui également de la Judée, de Jérusalem, de l’Idumée et d’au-delà du Jourdain, des environs de Tyr et de Sidon, car ils avaient appris tout ce qu’il faisait.
9 And he asked his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, to keep him from beingcrushed.	9 Jésus demanda alors à ses disciples de tenir une barque à sa disposition pour ne pas être écrasé par la foule.
10 For he had cured so many that al who were afflicted in any way were crowding forward to touch him.	10 En effet, il faisait tellement de guérisons que tous ceux qui souffraient de quelque mal se pressaient contre lui pour essayer de le toucher.
11 And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, would fal down before him and shout, 'You are theSon of God!'	11 Même les esprits impurs se laissaient tomber à ses pieds quand ils le voyaient; ils criaient: "Tu es le Fils de Dieu!”
12 But he warned them strongly not to make him known.	12 Mais il les menaçait sévèrement, car il ne voulait pas qu’ils le fassent reconnaître.
13 He now went up onto the mountain and summoned those he wanted. So they came to him	13 Jésus gravit alors la montagne; il appela à lui ceux qu’il voulut et ils allèrent le rejoindre.
14 and he appointed twelve; they were to be his companions and to be sent out to proclaim the message,	14 C’est ainsi qu’il créa les “Douze” (qu’il nomma aussi apôtres) pour être avec lui; il voulait les envoyer prêcher
15 with power to drive out devils.	15 et qu’ils aient autorité pour faire sortir les démons.
16 And so he appointed the Twelve, Simon to whom he gave the name Peter,	16 Il établit donc les Douze: Simon, à qui il imposa le nom de Pierre;
17 James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, to whom he gave the name Boanerges or'Sons of Thunder';	17 Jacques fils de Zébédée, et Jean, frère de Jacques - il leur imposa le nom de Boanerguès, ce qui veut dire: Fils du tonnerre -;
18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon theZealot	18 André, Philippe, Barthélemy, Matthieu, Thomas, Jacques fils d’Alphée, Thaddée,
19 and Judas Iscariot, the man who was to betray him.	19 Simon le Cananéen, et Judas Iscariote, celui-là même qui allait le livrer.
20 He went home again, and once more such a crowd col ected that they could not even have a meal.	20 Jésus revint à la maison. De nouveau on s’y retrouva en grand nombre, si bien qu’ils ne pouvaient même plus manger.
21 When his relations heard of this, they set out to take charge of him; they said, 'He is out of his mind.'	21 En apprenant cela, les siens vinrent pour le reprendre, car ils disaient: "Il a perdu la tête!”
22 The scribes who had come down from Jerusalem were saying, 'Beelzebul is in him,' and, 'It is throughthe prince of devils that he drives devils out.'	22 Au même moment, les maîtres de la Loi qui étaient descendus de Jérusalem affirmaient: "Il est possédé par Béelzéboul; c’est le chef des démons qui lui permet de chasser les démons!”
23 So he cal ed them to him and spoke to them in parables,	23 Il les fit donc approcher et commença à raisonner avec des comparaisons: "Comment Satan peut-il faire sortir Satan?
24 'How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot last.	24 Si l’on est divisé à l’intérieur d’un royaume, ce royaume ne peut tenir.
25 And if a household is divided against itself, that household can never last.	25 Si l’on est divisé à l’intérieur d’une maison, cette maison ne tiendra pas.
26 Now if Satan has rebel ed against himself and is divided, he cannot last either -- it is the end of him.	26 Et si Satan s’en prend à lui-même, s’il est divisé, il ne tiendra pas, il est fini.
27 But no one can make his way into a strong man's house and plunder his property unless he has firsttied up the strong man. Only then can he plunder his house.	27 “Personne ne peut entrer dans la maison du Fort pour piller ses affaires, sans avoir d’abord ligoté le Fort. Alors seulement on pillera sa maison.
28 'In truth I tel you, al human sins will be forgiven, and al the blasphemies ever uttered;	28 En vérité, je vous dis, tout peut être pardonné aux hommes, quel que soit le nombre de leurs péchés et de leurs blasphèmes;
29 but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, but is guilty of an eternalsin.'	29 mais pour qui blasphème contre l’Esprit Saint, il n’y aura jamais de pardon: car il est coupable d’une faute qui ne s’en ira jamais.”
30 This was because they were saying, 'There is an unclean spirit in him.'	30 C’était leur cas quand ils disaient: "Il a un esprit impur.”
31 Now his mother and his brothers arrived and, standing outside, sent in a message asking for him.	31 Sur ce, arrivent sa mère et ses frères; ils restent dehors et envoient quelqu’un pour l’appeler.
32 A crowd was sitting round him at the time the message was passed to him, 'Look, your mother andbrothers and sisters are outside asking for you.'	32 On dit à Jésus, alors que tout le monde est assis autour de lui: "Ta mère et tes frères sont là dehors, qui te cherchent.”
33 He replied, 'Who are my mother and my brothers?'	33 Mais Jésus leur répond: "Qui est ma mère et qui sont mes frères?”
34 And looking at those sitting in a circle round him, he said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers.	34 Et promenant son regard sur ceux qui sont assis autour de lui, il déclare: "Vous voyez là ma mère et mes frères;
35 Anyone who does the wil of God, that person is my brother and sister and mother.'	35 celui qui fait la volonté de Dieu, c’est lui qui m’est un frère, une sœur ou une mère.”
