NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Another time he went into the synagogue, and there was a man present whose hand was withered.	1 Entró de nuevo en la sinagoga, y había allí un hombre que tenía la mano paralizada.
2 And they were watching him to see if he would cure him on the Sabbath day, hoping for something tocharge him with.	2 Estaban al acecho a ver si le curaba en sábado para poder acusarle.
3 He said to the man with the withered hand, 'Get up and stand in the middle!'	3 Dice al hombre que tenía la mano seca: «Levántate ahí en medio».
4 Then he said to them, 'Is it permitted on the Sabbath day to do good, or to do evil; to save life, or to kil ?'But they said nothing.	4 Y les dice: «¿Es lícito en sábado hacer el bien en vez del mal, salvar una vida en vez de destruirla?» Pero ellos callaban.
5 Then he looked angrily round at them, grieved to find them so obstinate, and said to the man, 'Stretchout your hand.' He stretched it out and his hand was restored.	5 Entonces, mirándoles con ira, apenado por la dureza de su corazón, dice al hombre: «Extiende la mano». El la extendió y quedó restablecida su mano.
6 The Pharisees went out and began at once to plot with the Herodians against him, discussing how todestroy him.	6 En cuanto salieron los fariseos, se confabularon con los herodianos contra él para ver cómo eliminarle.
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lakeside, and great crowds from Galilee fol owed him. FromJudaea,	7 Jesús se retiró con sus discípulos hacia el mar, y le siguió una gran muchedumbre de Galilea. También de Judea,
8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea and Transjordan and the region of Tyre and Sidon, greatnumbers who had heard of al he was doing came to him.	8 de Jerusalén, de Idumea, del otro lado del Jordán, de los alrededores de Tiro y Sidón, una gran muchedumbre, al oír lo que hacía, acudió a él.
9 And he asked his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, to keep him from beingcrushed.	9 Entonces, a causa de la multitud, dijo a sus discípulos que le prepararan una pequeña barca, para que no le aplastaran.
10 For he had cured so many that al who were afflicted in any way were crowding forward to touch him.	10 Pues curó a muchos, de suerte que cuantos padecían dolencias se le echaban encima para tocarle.
11 And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, would fal down before him and shout, 'You are theSon of God!'	11 Y los espíritus inmundos, al verle, se arrojaban a sus pies y gritaban: «Tú eres el Hijo de Dios».
12 But he warned them strongly not to make him known.	12 Pero él les mandaba enérgicamente que no le descubrieran.
13 He now went up onto the mountain and summoned those he wanted. So they came to him	13 Subió al monte y llamó a los que él quiso; y vinieron donde él.
14 and he appointed twelve; they were to be his companions and to be sent out to proclaim the message,	14 Instituyó Doce, para que estuvieran con él, y para enviarlos a predicar
15 with power to drive out devils.	15 con poder de expulsar los demonios.
16 And so he appointed the Twelve, Simon to whom he gave the name Peter,	16 Instituyó a los Doce y puso a Simón el nombre de Pedro;
17 James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, to whom he gave the name Boanerges or'Sons of Thunder';	17 a Santiago el de Zebedeo y a Juan, el hermano de Santiago, a quienes puso por nombre Boanerges, es decir, hijos del trueno;
18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon theZealot	18 a Andrés, Felipe, Bartolomé, Mateo, Tomás, Santiago el de Alfeo, Tadeo, Simón el Cananeo
19 and Judas Iscariot, the man who was to betray him.	19 y Judas Iscariote, el mismo que le entregó.
20 He went home again, and once more such a crowd col ected that they could not even have a meal.	20 Vuelve a casa. Se aglomera otra vez la muchedumbre de modo que no podían comer.
21 When his relations heard of this, they set out to take charge of him; they said, 'He is out of his mind.'	21 Se enteraron sus parientes y fueron a hacerse cargo de él, pues decían: «Está fuera de sí».
22 The scribes who had come down from Jerusalem were saying, 'Beelzebul is in him,' and, 'It is throughthe prince of devils that he drives devils out.'	22 Los escribas que habían bajado de Jerusalén decían: «Está poseído por Beelzebul» y «por el príncipe de los demonios expulsa los demonios».
23 So he cal ed them to him and spoke to them in parables,	23 El, llamándoles junto a sí, les decía en parábolas: «¿Cómo puede Satanás expulsar a Satanás?
24 'How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot last.	24 Si un reino está dividido contra sí mismo, ese reino no puede subsistir.
25 And if a household is divided against itself, that household can never last.	25 Si una casa está dividida contra sí misma, esa casa no podrá subsistir.
26 Now if Satan has rebel ed against himself and is divided, he cannot last either -- it is the end of him.	26 Y si Satanás se ha alzado contra sí mismo y está dividido, no puede subsistir, pues ha llegado su fin.
27 But no one can make his way into a strong man's house and plunder his property unless he has firsttied up the strong man. Only then can he plunder his house.	27 Pero nadie puede entrar en la casa del fuerte y saquear su ajuar, si no ata primero al fuerte; entonces podrá saquear su casa.
28 'In truth I tel you, al human sins will be forgiven, and al the blasphemies ever uttered;	28 Yo os aseguro que se perdonará todo a los hijos de los hombres, los pecados y las blasfemias, por muchas que éstas sean.
29 but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, but is guilty of an eternalsin.'	29 Pero el que blasfeme contra el Espíritu Santo, no tendrá perdón nunca, antes bien, será reo de pecado eterno».
30 This was because they were saying, 'There is an unclean spirit in him.'	30 Es que decían: «Está poseído por un espíritu inmundo».
31 Now his mother and his brothers arrived and, standing outside, sent in a message asking for him.	31 Llegan su madre y sus hermanos, y quedándose fuera, le envían a llamar.
32 A crowd was sitting round him at the time the message was passed to him, 'Look, your mother andbrothers and sisters are outside asking for you.'	32 Estaba mucha gente sentada a su alrededor. Le dicen: «¡Oye!, tu madre, tus hermanos y tus hermanas están fuera y te buscan».
33 He replied, 'Who are my mother and my brothers?'	33 El les responde: «¿Quién es mi madre y mis hermanos?»
34 And looking at those sitting in a circle round him, he said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers.	34 Y mirando en torno a los que estaban sentados en corro, a su alrededor, dice: «Estos son mi madre y mis hermanos.
35 Anyone who does the wil of God, that person is my brother and sister and mother.'	35 Quien cumpla la voluntad de Dios, ése es mi hermano, mi hermana y mi madre».
