NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spiceswith which to go and anoint him.	1 Trascorso il sabato, Maria Maddalena, Maria madre di Giacomo e Salome comprarono gli aromi per andare ad imbalsamare Gesù.
2 And very early in the morning on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun hadrisen.	2 Assai presto, nel primo giorno della settimana vennero al sepolcro, appena spuntò il sole.
3 They had been saying to one another, 'Who wil rol away the stone for us from the entrance to thetomb?'	3 Intanto si andavano dicendo tra loro: "Chi ci farà rotolare la pietra dall'ingresso del sepolcro?".
4 But when they looked they saw that the stone -- which was very big -- had already been rol ed back.	4 Alzato lo sguardo, però, osservarono che la pietra era stata rotolata, benché fosse molto grande!
5 On entering the tomb they saw a young man in a white robe seated on the right-hand side, and theywere struck with amazement.	5 Entrate allora nel sepolcro, videro un giovane che se ne stava seduto a destra, rivestito di una veste bianca, e si spaventarono.
6 But he said to them, 'There is no need to be so amazed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, whowas crucified: he has risen, he is not here. See, here is the place where they laid him.	6 Ma egli disse loro: "Non vi spaventate! Voi cercate Gesù, il Nazareno, che è stato crocifisso. E' risorto. Non è più qui. Ecco il luogo ove lo avevano posto.
7 But you must go and tel his disciples and Peter, "He is going ahead of you to Galilee; that is where you wil see him, just as he told you." '	7 Ma andate, dite ai suoi discepoli, specialmente a Pietro: Vi precede in Galilea. Là lo vedrete, come vi ha detto".
8 And the women came out and ran away from the tomb because they were frightened out of their wits;and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.	8 Quelle, però, uscite dal sepolcro fuggirono, prese da tremore e da stupore, e non dissero nulla a nessuno, perché avevano paura.
9 Having risen in the morning on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary of Magdala fromwhom he had cast out seven devils.	9 Risorto al mattino del primo giorno della settimana, apparve dapprima a Maria Maddalena, dalla quale aveva scacciato sette demòni.
10 She then went to those who had been his companions, and who were mourning and in tears, andtold them.	10 Ella, a sua volta, andò ad annunciarlo a coloro che erano stati con lui, ed erano afflitti e piangevano.
11 But they did not believe her when they heard her say that he was alive and that she had seen him.	11 Ma essi, udito che era vivo ed era stato visto da lei, non le credettero.
12 After this, he showed himself under another form to two of them as they were on their way into thecountry.	12 Dopo ciò apparve sotto altra forma a due di loro, mentre erano in cammino per andare in campagna.
13 These went back and told the others, who did not believe them either.	13 Anche questi tornarono indietro per annunciarlo agli altri; ma non credettero neppure ad essi.
14 Lastly, he showed himself to the Eleven themselves while they were at table. He reproached them fortheir incredulity and obstinacy, because they had refused to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.	14 Finalmente apparve agli Undici stessi mentre erano a tavola e li rimproverò della loro incredulità e durezza di cuore, poiché non avevano creduto a coloro che lo avevano visto risuscitato.
15 And he said to them, 'Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to al creation.	15 Poi disse loro: "Andate per tutto il mondo e predicate il vangelo a ogni creatura.
16 Whoever believes and is baptised wil be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.	16 Chi crederà e si farà battezzare sarà salvato, ma chi non crederà sarà condannato.
17 These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they wil cast out devils; theywil have the gift of tongues;	17 Questi poi sono i segni che accompagneranno i credenti: nel mio nome scacceranno i demòni, parleranno lingue nuove,
18 they wil pick up snakes in their hands and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they wil laytheir hands on the sick, who wil recover.'	18 prenderanno in mano serpenti e, se avranno bevuto qualcosa di mortifero, non nuocerà loro, imporranno le mani agli infermi e questi saranno risanati".
19 And so the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven; there at the righthand of God he took his place,	19 Il Signore Gesù, dopo aver loro parlato, fu assunto in cielo e si assise alla destra di Dio.
20 while they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word bythe signs that accompanied it.	20 Essi, poi, se ne andarono a predicare dappertutto, mentre il Signore operava con loro e confermava la parola con i segni che li accompagnavano.
