NEW JERUSALEMBIBLIA
When the Sabbath was over, Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spiceswith which to go and anoint him.1 Pasado el sábado, María Magdalena, María la de Santiago y Salomé compraron aromas para ir a embalsamarle.
And very early in the morning on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun hadrisen.2 Y muy de madrugada, el primer día de la semana, a la salida del sol, van al sepulcro.
They had been saying to one another, 'Who wil rol away the stone for us from the entrance to thetomb?'3 Se decían unas otras: «¿Quién nos retirará la piedra de la puerta del sepulcro?»
But when they looked they saw that the stone -- which was very big -- had already been rol ed back.4 Y levantando los ojos ven que la piedra estaba ya retirada; y eso que era muy grande.
On entering the tomb they saw a young man in a white robe seated on the right-hand side, and theywere struck with amazement.5 Y entrando en el sepulcro vieron a un joven sentado en el lado derecho, vestido con una túnica blanca, y se asustaron.
But he said to them, 'There is no need to be so amazed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, whowas crucified: he has risen, he is not here. See, here is the place where they laid him.6 Pero él les dice: «No os asustéis. Buscáis a Jesús de Nazaret, el Crucificado; ha resucitado, no está aquí. Ved el lugar donde le pusieron.
But you must go and tel his disciples and Peter, "He is going ahead of you to Galilee; that is where you wil see him, just as he told you." '7 Pero id a decir a sus discípulos y a Pedro que irá delante de vosotros a Galilea; allí le veréis, como os dijo».
And the women came out and ran away from the tomb because they were frightened out of their wits;and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.8 Ellas salieron huyendo del sepulcro, pues un gran temblor y espanto se había apoderado de ellas, y no dijeron nada a nadie porque tenían miedo...
Having risen in the morning on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary of Magdala fromwhom he had cast out seven devils.9 Jesús resucitó en la madrugada, el primer día de la semana, y se apareció primero a María Magdalena, de la que había echado siete demonios.
She then went to those who had been his companions, and who were mourning and in tears, andtold them.10 Ella fue a comunicar la noticia a los que habían vivido con él, que estaban tristes y llorosos.
But they did not believe her when they heard her say that he was alive and that she had seen him.11 Ellos, al oír que vivía y que había sido visto por ella, no creyeron.
After this, he showed himself under another form to two of them as they were on their way into thecountry.12 Después de esto, se apareció, bajo otra figura, a dos de ellos cuando iban de camino a una aldea.
These went back and told the others, who did not believe them either.13 Ellos volvieron a comunicárselo a los demás; pero tampoco creyeron a éstos.
Lastly, he showed himself to the Eleven themselves while they were at table. He reproached them fortheir incredulity and obstinacy, because they had refused to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.14 Por último, estando a la mesa los once discípulos, se les apareció y les echó en cara su incredulidad y su dureza de corazón, por no haber creído a quienes le habían visto resucitado.
And he said to them, 'Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to al creation.15 Y les dijo: «Id por todo el mundo y proclamad la Buena Nueva a toda la creación.
Whoever believes and is baptised wil be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.16 El que crea y sea bautizado, se salvará; el que no crea, se condenará.
These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they wil cast out devils; theywil have the gift of tongues;17 Estas son las señales que acompañarán a los que crean: en mi nombre expulsarán demonios, hablarán en lenguas nuevas,
they wil pick up snakes in their hands and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they wil laytheir hands on the sick, who wil recover.'18 agarrarán serpientes en sus manos y aunque beban veneno no les hará daño; impondrán las manos sobre los enfermos y se pondrán bien».
And so the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven; there at the righthand of God he took his place,19 Con esto, el Señor Jesús, después de hablarles, fue elevado al cielo y se sentó a la diestra de Dios.
while they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word bythe signs that accompanied it.20 Ellos salieron a predicar por todas partes, colaborando el Señor con ellos y confirmando la Palabra con las señales que la acompañaban.
