NEW JERUSALEMBIBLES DES PEUPLES
When the Sabbath was over, Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spiceswith which to go and anoint him.1 Une fois terminé le sabbat, Marie de Magdala, Marie, mère de Jacques, et Salomé achetèrent des parfums afin d’embaumer le corps.
And very early in the morning on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun hadrisen.2 De grand matin, le premier jour de la semaine, elles vinrent au tombeau au lever du soleil.
They had been saying to one another, 'Who wil rol away the stone for us from the entrance to thetomb?'3 Elles s’étaient bien posé la question: "Qui nous roulera la pierre de devant le tombeau?”
But when they looked they saw that the stone -- which was very big -- had already been rol ed back.4 Mais au premier regard, elles virent que la pierre avait été roulée de côté, et il s’agissait d’une pierre énorme.
On entering the tomb they saw a young man in a white robe seated on the right-hand side, and theywere struck with amazement.5 Elles entrent alors dans le tombeau et elles voient un jeune homme assis à droite, vêtu d’une tunique blanche. Elles sont saisies de frayeur,
But he said to them, 'There is no need to be so amazed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, whowas crucified: he has risen, he is not here. See, here is the place where they laid him.6 mais il leur dit: "Ne vous effrayez pas! Vous cherchez Jésus le Nazaréen, celui qu’on a crucifié? C’est bien ici qu’on l’avait mis, mais il est ressuscité, il n’est pas ici.
But you must go and tel his disciples and Peter, "He is going ahead of you to Galilee; that is where you wil see him, just as he told you." '7 “Allez dire à ses disciples, et à Pierre, qu’il vous précède en Galilée; là vous le verrez comme il vous l’a dit.”
And the women came out and ran away from the tomb because they were frightened out of their wits;and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.8 Aussitôt elles sortent du tombeau et prennent la fuite, saisies de frayeur et d’étonnement. Leur peur est telle qu’elles ne disent rien à personne.
Having risen in the morning on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary of Magdala fromwhom he had cast out seven devils.9 Ressuscité au matin du premier jour de la semaine, Jésus apparut tout d’abord à Marie de Magdala dont il avait chassé sept démons.
She then went to those who had been his companions, and who were mourning and in tears, andtold them.10 Elle alla le dire aux compagnons de Jésus qui étaient tristes et qui pleuraient.
But they did not believe her when they heard her say that he was alive and that she had seen him.11 Quand ils entendirent qu’il était vivant, qu’elle l’avait vu, ils ne la crurent pas.
After this, he showed himself under another form to two of them as they were on their way into thecountry.12 Après cela Jésus se manifesta sous une autre forme à deux d’entre eux qui s’en allaient à la campagne.
These went back and told the others, who did not believe them either.13 Eux aussi allèrent le dire aux autres, mais ils ne les crurent pas davantage.
Lastly, he showed himself to the Eleven themselves while they were at table. He reproached them fortheir incredulity and obstinacy, because they had refused to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.14 Finalement, Jésus se manifesta aux Onze alors qu’ils étaient à table. Il leur reprocha de manquer de foi, d’être si peu ouverts, et de n’avoir pas cru ceux qui l’avaient vu ressuscité.
And he said to them, 'Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to al creation.15 Puis il leur dit: "Allez dans le monde entier, portez la Bonne Nouvelle à toute la création.
Whoever believes and is baptised wil be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.16 Celui qui croira et sera baptisé sera sauvé; celui qui ne croira pas sera condamné.
These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they wil cast out devils; theywil have the gift of tongues;17 “Voici les signes qui accompagneront ceux qui auront cru: par mon Nom ils chasseront les démons et parleront des langues nouvelles.
they wil pick up snakes in their hands and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they wil laytheir hands on the sick, who wil recover.'18 Ils saisiront les serpents, et s’ils boivent un poison mortel, il ne leur fera aucun mal; ils imposeront les mains aux malades et ils seront guéris.”
And so the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven; there at the righthand of God he took his place,19 Après leur avoir parlé, le Seigneur Jésus fut enlevé au ciel et il s’assit à la droite de Dieu.
while they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word bythe signs that accompanied it.20 Quant à eux, ils partirent prêcher en tout lieu; le Seigneur était à l’œuvre avec eux et confirmait leurs paroles par les signes qui l’accompagnaient.
