Amos 9

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 I saw the Lord standing by the altar, and he said, 'Strike the top of the pil ar so that the thresholdsshake! Smash their heads in, one and al ! And I shal put any survivors to the sword; whoever runs away wil notrun far, whoever escapes wil not make good his escape.	1 Je vis le Seigneur debout près de l'autel, et il dit: "Frappe le chapiteau et que les seuils s'ébranlent;brise-les sur leur tête à tous, et ce qui restera d'eux, je les tuerai par l'épée; il ne s'enfuira point parmi eux defuyard, il ne se sauvera point parmi eux de rescapé.
2 Should they burrow into Sheol, my hand wil haul them out; should they climb to heaven, I shal bringthem down.	2 S'ils forcent l'entrée du Shéol, de là ma main les prendra; et s'ils montent aux cieux, de là je les feraidescendre;
3 Should they hide on the top of Carmel, I shall track them down and catch them; should they hide fromme on the sea bed, I shall order the Serpent there to bite them;	3 s'ils se cachent au sommet du Carmel, là j'irai les chercher et les prendre; s'ils se dérobent à mes yeuxau fond de la mer, là je commanderai au Serpent de les mordre;
4 if their enemies herd them into captivity, I shal order the sword to kil them there, and I shall fix myeyes on them for evil and not for good.'	4 s'ils s'en vont captifs devant leurs ennemis, là je commanderai à l'épée de les tuer, je fixerai les yeuxsur eux, pour leur malheur et non pour leur bonheur.
5 Lord Yahweh Sabaoth- he touches the earth and it melts, and al living things on it lament, as al risestogether like the Nile in Egypt and then subsides like the Egyptian Nile.	5 Et le Seigneur Yahvé Sabaot... Il touche la terre et elle se dissout, et tous ses habitants sont en deuil;elle monte comme le Nil, tout entière, et puis retombe comme le Nil d'Egypte.
6 He who builds his mansions in the heavens, supporting his vault on the earth; who summons thewaters of the sea and pours them over the surface of the land: Yahweh is his name.	6 Il bâtit dans le ciel ses chambres hautes, il a fondé sa voûte sur la terre; il appelle les eaux de la mer etles répand sur la face de la terre; Yahvé est son nom.
7 Are not you and the Cushites all the same to me, children of Israel? - declares Yahweh. Did I not bringIsrael up from Egypt and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Aramaeans from Kir?	7 N'êtes-vous pas pour moi comme des Kushites, enfants d'Israël? - oracle de Yahvé - N'ai-je pas faitmonter Israël du pays d'Egypte, et les Philistins de Kaphtor et les Araméens de Qir?
8 Look, Lord Yahweh's eyes are on the sinful kingdom, I shal wipe it off the face of the earth, although Ishall not destroy the House of Jacob completely -declares Yahweh.	8 Voici, les yeux du Seigneur Yahvé sont sur le royaume pécheur. Je vais l'exterminer de la surface dusol, toutefois je n'exterminerai pas complètement la maison de Jacob - oracle de Yahvé --
9 For look, I shall give the command and shal shake out the House of Israel among al nations as asieve is shaken out without one grain fal ing on the ground.	9 Car voici que je vais commander et je secouerai la maison d'Israël parmi toutes les nations, comme onsecoue avec le crible, et pas un grain ne tombe à terre.
10 All the sinners of my people wil perish by the sword, who say, 'Disaster wil never approach orovertake us.'	10 Tous les pécheurs de mon peuple périront par l'épée, eux qui disent: "Le malheur n'avancera pas, ilne nous atteindra pas."
11 On that Day, I shal rebuild the tottering hut of David, make good the gaps in it, restore its ruins andrebuild it as it was in the days of old,	11 En ces jours-là, je relèverai la hutte branlante de David, je réparerai ses brèches, je relèverai sesruines, je la rebâtirai comme aux jours d'autrefois,
12 for them to be master of what is left of Edom and of al the nations once cal ed mine -Yahwehdeclares, and he wil perform it.	12 afin qu'ils possèdent le reste d'Edom et toutes les nations qui furent appelées de mon nom, oracle deYahvé qui a fait cela.
13 The days are coming- declares Yahweh- when the ploughman wil tread on the heels of the reaper,and the treader of grapes on the heels of the sower of seed, and the mountains wil run with new wine and thehil s al flow with it.	13 Voici venir des jours - oracle de Yahvé - où se suivront de près laboureur et moissonneur, celui quifoule les raisins et celui qui répand la semence. Les montagnes suinteront de jus de raisin, toutes les collinesdeviendront liquides.
14 I shall restore the fortunes of my people Israel; they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them, theywil plant vineyards and drink their wine, they wil lay out gardens and eat their produce.	14 Je rétablirai mon peuple Israël; ils rebâtiront les villes dévastées et les habiteront, ils planteront desvignes et en boiront le vin, ils cultiveront des jardins et en mangeront les fruits.
15 And I shal plant them in their own soil and they wil never be uprooted again from the country which Ihave given them, declares Yahweh, your God.	15 Je les planterai sur leur terre et ils ne seront plus arrachés de dessus la terre que je leur ai donnée, ditYahvé ton Dieu.
